After a VERY long absence since being revealed back in September 2018, Sega Ages: Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has finally resurfaced via the newest issue of the Japanese magazine Famitsu! While there’s no date just yet, we did get a key new tidbit; it will indeed include the lock-on content Knuckles the Echidna in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 that allows you to play through the entire game as Knuckles. Japan is around 8 hours ahead of the UK, which means that as we write this right now, it’s already January 1, 2020 in the country. Sonic Team and SEGA has wasted no time in celebrating the turn of the new decade, with a cool new graphic and a new hashtag campaign that may be used to promote new Sonic projects over the next year. Step aside, Baby Yoda, because there’s a new cuteness in town! The latest teaser from the Sonic movie’s Japanese twitter account has given us our first glimpse at the long-rumored “baby Sonic.” The teaser features the little blue tike blasting through Green Hill as Sonic Mania’s opening theme, Hyper Potion’s Friends, plays in the background.

The first IDW Sonic mini-series is reaching its end with a real bang!
IDW has released its previews for this week with a finale to remember to round out the year. In Tangle and Whisper #4, it’s finally time for Whisper to take on her traitorous team mate Mimic. With Wisp Gun at her side, she’s ready to fight his fleet of Badniks. But it’s the help of Tangle being there to support her that she’ll need to fall back on if she wants a hope of confronting her past and taking out Mimic properly! This is “Showdown”.

A long lost DLC event for the Japanese version of Sonic Adventure has just been uncovered. Moopthehedgehog, a member of the Dreamcast development and homebrew website DCEmulation, found a copy of the game’s 1999 New Years event on an old memory card he ordered from Japan.
