Hot off the new gameplay footage, written previews and the E3 Press Release, SEGA have unveiled a plentiful of new screenshots from both Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal for Wii U and 3DS. The screenshots show our main cast doing an assortment of actions in their game worlds, from boomerangs to Enerbeams. You can check all these screenshots out in our gallery below. Preview: Sonic Universe #64

Away from the zoo lane, we have a scuffle between the detectives and the thieves.

To start June off on the comic front, Multiversity Comics have a preview of Sonic Universe #64. Knuckles and the Chaotix find themselves getting into fisticuffs with the Hooligans. While the scuffle for the Chaos Emerald is going on between the teams on opposite sides of the law, tensions are raised for both sides on all fronts. Meanwhile, Knuckles has his own mission to take care of, and he (with the trio) eventually finds something he didn’t expect. What is this light amongst the darkness? Find out in “The Great Chaos Caper”: part 2.

Sonic Boom Toys Launching in August?

ToyWiz have just opened pre-orders for some of the Sonic Boom toys. Whilst this isn’t as varied as the number of toys we saw from Toy Fair earlier this year, odds are this is the first of many which may come in the next few weeks.

Details of the initial toys are as follows,

The first toy is a burnbot playset which seems to include Burnbot and something which will launch that Sonic… you’ll probably have a better idea as to how it will look like when you see the next image.

The next toy is called the ‘Sonic Boom launcher.’ So it looks like the burnbot playset may also include a launcher, and it also seems that Egg-O-Matic Eggman is also on his way.

The third toy has no image, but it is described as a ‘Plane Launcher’ to me this suggests that we may also get a Tornado plane vehicle too.

The price is $28 each , however more interestingly is the release date of August 2014, however this is more than likely a placeholder and not the final date.

An official soundtrack release for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Sumo Digital’s multiplatform racing game with transformable vehicles, racers and race tracks commemorating SEGA’s history and numerous franchises, and a killer OST arranged by the one and only Richard Jacques, has gone live on iTunes and Amazon. The sound collection has been split into two albums with 34 tracks in each, one volume priced at the reasonable 9.99$/£7.99/8,99 €/¥1,600 online.

“But Vizard! That means there are only 68 songs total, right? Doesn’t Transformed have more tunes in-game in comparison? Who should we mark as Missing on the sides of milk cartons?!”

For those curious, the only missing tracks from the actual game are the All-Star themes to guest characters Wreck-It Ralph and Danica Patrick, and those of the PC exclusive, Xbox Avatar, and Nintendo Mii characters, as well as certain jingles, but, save for that, the complete soundtrack to the core experience is all there, present and accounted for, for you to enjoy! Boost your acceleration with Ocean View, drift along to Burning Depths, speed past other drivers with Race of Ages, headbang along to Adder’s Lair, and so on!

On a serious note, however, don’t actually do any of those things. Except buying the soundtrack. Yes. That’s okay. Listening to it while driving is okay too. Remember, eyes on the road, be courteous to your fellow drivers, and obey the speed limit! This isn’t a video game, this is real life, baby!

Pointlessly cool thing of the day: Sonic Adventure on a USSR 1970s Portable TV!

Let’s set the scene here quickly. It’s 1979, you’re out on the road, taking a rest stop and need to kill some time… The only thing you have is that brand new portable television set that you imported from Russia, and that new-fangled ‘dreamcast’ box thing that wandering time traveller left you with before going off on his merry way (bear with us here). So you hook up your spare car battery, power up the T.V set, and manage to hook up the system… and what do you know! You’re playing Sonic Adventure in black and white on a screen no wider than 7 inches…

Ok, so hardly any of that actually happened, but it got your attention I hope!

Anyway, my father has this really, really old portable television (portable in the sense that it weighs 5kg/11lb and is larger than your average cinder brick, and to use it ‘portably’ you need to power the thing with a car battery) and we only just got it working again. With no analogue television signal to test it, why not hook up a Dreamcast to it? To cut the long story short, it worked. Very well! There’s a small, but fairly clear picture, and the sound quality is excellent!

A Statement from the Summer of Sonic Team

It’s no secret that many people have been anticipating news of the next Summer of Sonic event. Well, a short while ago, The Summer of Sonic Organisers/Team have issued a statement regarding this years event.

Their statement is as follows.

Every year, The Summer of Sonic team dreams of new ways to excite and inspire like-minded Sonic the Hedgehog fans, with large-scale conventions that aim to bring people together under a common theme.

Due to the nature of how the annual event is organised, each Summer of Sonic event hinges on the availability of key team players, as they help build the show in their spare time – alongside SEGA personnel who also must work around their daily duties.

With this in mind, it is after a lot of consideration that we have decided to put Summer of Sonic on hiatus for 2014. During this hiatus, we will take stock of the things we have accomplished with SEGA and then decide when we will be able to return for another round of Sonic excitement.

The team would like to express our sincere thanks for the continued support of our fellow Sonic fans, as well as our apologies for any disappointment this news may cause.

Since its début in 2008, the Summer of Sonic has been a truly pioneering event, entertaining thousands of fellow Sonic the Hedgehog fans from all corners of the world with the mantra of providing a convention by the fans, for the fans.

Its creation also marks a significant milestone in the video games industry – these past six years this small team of adoring fans have enjoyed an extremely close working partnership with the company responsible for the products and characters they grew up with and love. This close interaction between brand and community is unprecedented to this day, and shows SEGA as a company ahead of the curve when it comes to fan engagement.

As such, the team would like to thank SEGA and the Sonic Team for its support for the convention – both past, present and future.

Sonic Boom 2014 Event Details Announced

SEGA of America has today announced Sonic Boom (the event, not the show and game with the blue armed hedgehog and buff echidna) will return this year. This time round the event is headed to New York City and more precisely the Great Ballroom at the Manhattan Centre. SEGA has set a date of Saturday, October 4th, 2014, and while there’s no solid time slot yet, the event will be held during the evening as usual.

New Video Shows New Raccoon Character for Sonic Boom?

So earlier this week, we reported on a mysterious image which showed what appear to be a Raccoon character in a Sonic Boom poster. Shortly after this a series of other Sonic Boom posters appeared which appeared to show new Sonic Boom assets besides various Star Wars characters.

Well today a YouTube user has posted a video of the poster claiming “It’s my poster.” The image is perfectly clear (although a very low resolution), and shows the mystery character in full.

Here’s the million dollar question, is it a fan creation? The YouTube user doesn’t say, other than ‘it’s my poster.’ Meaning either the characters are recreations or someone has access to unreleased Sega assets and made the poster using it.

Judging from the quality of the renders, it certainly looks official, but given the talent of some artists these days I wouldn’t put it past a fan to create something like this.

Though regardless, the likely hood of this character being Marine is becoming less and less likely… for starters, her tail is gone, well at least compared to how it used to look.

License! Global: New Sonic Mobile Apps Coming 2014

In the latest issue of License! Global, there is a small section on Sonic Boom’s appearance at the Vegas Licensing Expo later this year. In the paragraph they mention the following.

“New video games for the Wii U system and the Nintendo 3DS handheld system, and a new mobile app games

Now this might mean previous mobile apps such as Jump or Dash, however it’s odd that they didn’t just name those, also the fact they call them ‘new’ since they’ve been out for a long time.

So want more Sonic mobile apps, let us know in the comments.

Weston Super Sonic: Returning 17th of January 2015!

Weston Super Sonic, that little Sonic convention that we covered back in January is returning on the 17th on January 2015, and it’s looking to be back with a vengeance! Earlier today, the following banner was posted onto the convention’s Facebook page.

That’s right. England’s only South-West Sonic the Hedgehog convention is back and has been confirmed to take place in Weston-Super-Mare: one of Britain’s classic seaside locations.

Not only do we have a date for the event, but also a venue… And what a venue it is. None other than Weston-Super-Mare’s famous Grand Pier!

As of yet, there haven’t been any specific details about what exactly will go on at the event, but with a generous sized conference suite and a big selection of arcade machines and rides downstairs, 2015’s outing is already looking to be a ton of fun.

Stephen Frost speaks about why things have been quiet regarding Sonic Boom

Sonic Boom LogoStephen Frost kindly paid our forum a visit today to elaborate on why Sonic Boom hasn’t been booming over the past few months since the unveiling. Here’s his whole post:

I’ve been asked to chime in a bit here so I’ll do what I can to share some info with you all. I’ve said it a few times in the past, but there were key reasons why we announced the Sonic Boom initiative when we did. Along with that, there are a lot of partners involved with Sonic Boom so we have to be mindful of their timelines and requirements for their respective fields. It’s not just about a game anymore… This is a large group effort so any announcements and information shared publically needs to really be planned and organized carefully. We need to make sure that things we reveal don’t impact other parts and vice versa.

I completely appreciate the fact that you fans are hungry for info specific to the games, I really do. And that’s why we all work these endless late nights and weekends… It’s to get all the pieces in place for when the campaign does really kick off. We still have a ways until the cartoon and game launch, as well as the new toy line, so we need to pace all the info appropriately. And it all starts as we head into E3. You’ll learn more, for sure, but not everything. And the reveal of new assets and info should be more frequent from that point on. But trust me when I say there is no lack of effort by anyone involved with Sonic Boom. This is, by far, the biggest united effort I have personally ever seen Sega be involved in. We want to share everything with everyone because we are so excited… We just can’t… Yet.

So, please be a bit more patient. I’m working on screens and commenting on releases so stuff is coming. We will even have a bit of a surprise in there for you, as well as the first info and assets for the 3DS version. There is quite a bit of cool stuff ahead so hang in there.

So there you have it, it shouldn’t be much longer. I can’t wait to see what Sega brings to the table at E3!

Sonic 2 Remastered: Proto Palace Zone Discovered

In the last few days, a number of discoveries have been made regarding the Sonic 2 Remastered Edition.

The first is a fully working Egg Gauntlet Zone, it is effectively a boss attack mode. However it was cut from the final game, whilst some of the assets from the stage remained in the game, it wasn’t possible to access without modifying the game. Furthermore, as Taxman explains, due to a recent game update, the stage assets have been cut, even through modding it’s no longer possible to access.

But… there is one other very interesting discovery and revelation. Sonic 2 remastered has a hidden stage which is accessible in the current release via a cheat code.

For younger readers. Cheat codes are what we used before DLC was invented.

The new stage is called ‘Proto Palace Zone’ and whilst you may think ‘it’s Hidden Palace’ it’s actually different. It’s based on the original prototype stage which was on show at that toy event way back in the 1990’s.

And here is how you access it.

Step 1: Access the Sonic 2 level select code. (Tap the letters in the SEGA logo from left to right, then put two fingers on the title screen).

Step 2: Enter the debug code 01,09,09,02,01,01,02,04

Step 3: Enter this code 03,03,03,0B,10,10,10,04

And that’s it, you are now playing Proto Palace Zone, which include the original ‘track number 10’ music. But if you don’t have the remastered edition, here’s a video of the stage.

This is What Sonic on Oculus Rift Looks Like

Ever wondered what Sonic would look like in virtual reality? YouTuber Chadtronic decided to answer that question for you in the above video, where he boots up a level made in fan created engine Sonic GDK. He tells viewers that “…if you get woozy on the roller coasters at theme parks, then you’ll probably stay away from this one. But besides that it’s extremely fun”. If you’ve got your own Oculus Rift and want to try out the level, Chad provides all the download links to get it going yourself in the description of his video.

Chaos Emeralds COULD appear in the Boom Universe, says Stephen Frost

6232-18In case you thought you’d never get to see Super Sports Tape Sonic, Stephen Frost has taken to the SEGA Forums to clarify on earlier comments made by a SEGA representative in an interview regarding the appearance of Chaos Emeralds in the Boom Universe. While it was initially said the Chaos Emeralds were not to appear, Frost says this isn’t the case and the Emeralds are still open to an appearance.

Hi all,

I just wanted to clear something up about the Chaos Emeralds as I think there was some initial confusion based upon an answer that Bob gave during an earlier interview. I believe he just misunderstood the question. When he said that there were no Chaos Emeralds, he simply meant that they do not appear in the upcoming Sonic Boom games. And there are specific reasons for this. However, that is not to say that they couldn’t exist within the overall Sonic Boom universe. I can’t promise that they will be talked about or brought up anytime soon (or at all) in any aspect of Sonic Boom, but there is nothing that prevents their possible existence. Just wanted to clear that up for you all.

So to clarify – just because the Chaos Emeralds won’t appear in the upcoming two Sonic Boom titles, doesn’t mean they won’t ever appear. I’m for this news personally since the Emeralds hold a lot of story potential aside from a climatic final battle moments, but what about you? Do you want to see the Chaos Emeralds return? [UPDATE] Is SEGA Searching For a New Sidekick For a Future Sonic Game?

UPDATE: We have learned that while the Sonic page wasn’t archived at Google until April 17th 2014, the images were uploaded to Michael Nagy’s site July 15th 2013. It’s now very likely that this is a scrapped project.

It appears SEGA may be on the hunt for a sidekick for a new Sonic game they’re working on behind the scenes fronted by a new worldwide campaign titled The Search for Sonic’s Sidekick. In slides discovered by The Sonic Stadium at ad agency DDB Tribal artist Michael Nagy’s website there are images of an online mobile game SEGA will use in a competition to get fans involved in the new campaign. DDB Tribal are responsible for major campaigns for events such as The Queens Diamond Jubilee and advertisements for a variety of big brand companies.

The aforementioned mobile game sees players in twelve cities around the globe create a character and then race their character around their city using Google’s Street View technology. You then log your best time onto the leaderboard and the player with the fastest time at the end of the competition will see their character in the next Sonic game. The competition will run for eleven months and visit a new city every month.

We have created an online game using Google Street view where you compete to become Sonic’s sidekick. Your online avatar will be in the next game that is produced for Sonic. The competition will run for 11 months and move to a different city every month across the globe. The cities include Tokyo, Hong Kong, Berlin, Paris, London, Cape Town, Toronto, New York, San Francisco, Rio De Janeiro and Sydney.

The description doesn’t mention whether this is a console or mobile title, but for a campaign this big, it’s likely this could be for the next big console game from Sonic Team after Sonic Boom. We checked on Google and this page was archived just last week on April 17th 2014, so it’s very recent. The website http://www.runthestreets.com isn’t live yet, but the domain does appear to be up for sale and a Whois check doesn’t show any ownership by SEGA or Google just yet.

It’s also worth noting that there is no mention or indication of the new character replacing Tails as Sonic’s sidekick, so don’t panic, Tails fans. This new character could likely be playing a sidekick role similar to Chip in Sonic Unleashed or Yacker in Sonic Colours. Whatever the role, the character will obviously be important to the new game.

2012’s Sonic Jump finally lands a sequel this year in the form of Sonic Jump Fever. The games seems to be a bit more fast-paced and action packed than it’s predecessor. This also includes some Chao mini games for the first time in decades.  The game is available now for you lucky Canuckies up in the great white north and will be available in the US and UK later this year, but just WHEN this year is unknown. SEGAbits speaks to supposed “dead” Tails voice actor, Christopher Welch

Detective Barry the Nomad is on the case! SEGAbits just scored a short but helpful conversation with Christopher Stephen Welch, voice actor for Tails in the 1993 series “The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog”. It was wrongly reported last year that the voice actor had sadly passed away, however this turned out to not be the case as several sources close to the real Christopher found the articles reporting his passing and confirmed that they were in fact false. Fast forward to today, here is the statement that Christopher gave to Barry over at SEGAbits:

Hi Barry, My name is Christopher Stephen Welch and I was indeed the voice of tails for 65 episodes back in 1993. I did a lot of television commercials as a child and went to an audition for this part and landed it. It was the only voice work that I ever did.

It was recorded in Koko production and sound studios in Vancouver BC. I never worked side by side with Jaleel White but I did work with Gary Chalk (Grounder) and Philip Hayes (Scratch) as well as Long John Baldry (Dr. Robotnik). Paul Quinn directed us in the Vancouver studios.

It was a great opportunity and something that I remember fondly. I was 10 years old when we worked on and recorded these episodes. As mentioned above, Damien is a friend of mine and we always found it strange that everywhere online Christopher Evan Welch was credited with this work.

I am shocked that there is so much interest in this and was shocked at the length and depth of this article that you wrote.

Sonic Spotted During London Marathon TV Coverage

Last week we brought you news of Lewis Griffiths’ efforts to take part in this years London Marathon, well… he’s there’s, and he’s been spotted on TV too.

During a race side interview with The Ultimate Warrior. Sonic was able to just edge into shot as he overtook the famous wrestler. Based on various tweets and other comments on social media, Lewis has also been spotted by a number of other spectators and is causing a bit of a stir as he powers by.

Sonic Unleashed Now on Playstation Network

Well… better late than never?

Sonic Unleashed has been… uh… Unleashed onto the PSN nearly 6 years after it’s original release. So if you’ve been after a copy of this for a while and your efforts to get a physical version have failed, this might be an option for you.

Oddly, Sega never announced this, it randomly appeared in this weeks PSN update, prices are £15.99/€19.99/$19.99. Although it’s not that odd since Sega have still to announce that Sonic Heroes is on the PSN and that’s been on there for several years.

Not sure what else to say on this really, it’s a fun game, the Werehog isn’t that bad once you level him up, though it’s a tragic experience early game. Otherwise it’s quite challenging and has some decent music. Though Generations is a lot better.

Anyone want to place bets on this being a PSN+ Freebie in time.

Who’s at Big Red Button? Part 2 – SuperBots are invading, we need reinforcements!

It’s that time again! I’ve been busy doing more research on who’s at Big Red Button and working on the Wii U version of Sonic Boom.

Well my findings sort of come in almost two categories; the most common is the mass amount of former SuperBot Entertainment folks, the team behind PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, aka, Sony Smash Bros. Which by the way while it was never going to dethrone Smash, it looked like a very polished game from what I’ve seen, and Metacritic is pretty kind to it (only one reviewer gave it a horrendous 20/100 as the only score below 50, the game clearly is not shit).

The second category is held by one person, and it’s actually most deserving to be the highlight, more on that in a bit. 😉

Let’s start with a brief look at SuperBot. The team was formed in 2009 by a former Sony Santa Monica person (creators of God of War), and they were in fact, a 1st-Party developer of Sony, just as Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Sony Santa Monica, etc, are.

Well that changed, after All-Stars didn’t sell well (I don’t remember the numbers), Sony cut ties with them, and they were hit HARD, many thought they had closed but they confirmed in April 2013 that they were still active.

Well it seems a lot of them went to Big Red Button, now let’s see who’s there!

Let’s start with Niles Tucker, who was an Environment Artist at SuperBot, is now the same at Big Red Button.

Next is Kevin Hsu, who was a Senior Level Designer at SuperBot, is now a Combat Designer at Big Red Button.

Then we have Johnathan Nielsen, who was a UI (User Interface) Programmer at SuperBot, is now a Programmer at Big Red Button.

Fourth is  Carl-Henrik Skårstedt, who was Lead Software Engineer at, you guessed it, SuperBot, is now a Senior Programmer at, right again, Big Red Button!

Yet again, we have Daniel Ramirez, who was a Senior Character Artist at SuperBot, is now a Lead Character Artist at Big Red Button.

Here we have Mark Vernon, Combat AI Designer at SuperBot, is now Combat Designer at Big Red Button.

Next is Lisa Kapitsas, who was a Producer at SuperBot. Now she’s a Producer at Big Red Button.

What’s that? No more? Wow, I thought this wouldn’t end! XD Seven SuperBot folks, holy cow. This is looking more like a SuperBot-based company than a Naughty Dog or Insomniac one don’t it?

There are a few extras before we get to the big bit, they are the following:

First is Greg Prior, who worked at Sony Santa Monica as a Junior Environment Artist, specifically on God of War: Ascension. He’s now an Environment Artist at Big Red Button.

Second is Dannie Carlone, who also worked at Sony Santa Monica, this time as an Environment Artist, again on God of War: Ascension, is now also an Environment Artist at Big Red Button.

Next is Ben Strickland, this time having been a Junior Designer at High Impact Games (I covered a few HIG folks in the first part), is now a Game Designer at Big Red Button.

Finally we have David Nam, who was an Animator at High Impact Games (but only for a few months, he actually was an Animator for a few years at Wayforward, who makes Shantae, Mighty Switch Force, etc), is now Junior Animator at Big Red Button.

But wait, this person also worked at Disney, as he says specifically:

Created hand drawn animations under the mentorship of Anthony DeRosa, and animated on several scenes for “Winnie the Pooh”

This is leading up to my favorite of the pack, saving the best for last, allow me to introduce Todd Ammons, this guys’ resume will blow your mind. He worked at Disney for many years during the 90’s and early 2000’s as Assistant Animator on MANY Disney Renaissance Era films like Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Tarzan, Hunchback of Notre Dame, etc as he shows on his site! He also worked on animating in the film Barnyard, and actually worked at Insomniac for a year and a half as Senior Animator, animating in Ratchet Deadlocked and Resistance: Fall of Man. He worked on numerous games at Heavy Iron Studios including Ratatouille, Wall-E, and Spongebob: Truth or Square.

Tommy Tallarico To Be Special Guest At Sonic Revolution

This just in! Video game composer and co-creator of Video Games LIVE!, Tommy Tallarico has just been announced as a special guest for Sonic Revolution in Anaheim on June 15. Tommy is famous for composing many video game soundtracks including Earthworm Jim, MDK and even worked on Sonic and the Black Knight. Sonic Revolution’s announcement is below.

We are proud to announce another special guest to Sonic Revolution: Tommy Tallarico from Video Games Live! Tommy will be present on stage during the convention to talk about his work with Sonic music, as well as a Q&A about creating Sonic music.

Most known for being the co-creator of the concert series Video Games Live, Tommy Tallarico is also known for composing music for many major video games such as Bloodrayne, Earthworm Jim, and Pac-Man World. Water, water, everywhere in June’s selection of Sonic comics!

Midtown Comics has the latest solicitations in, and there’s danger from drowning for everyone to kick off the summer months. In Sonic the Hedgehog #262, we continue exploring underwater as the submerged city comes under attack from Dark Gaia’s minions. Sonic not being able to swim won’t help, but maybe Amy can? This is “Waves of Change”: part 3.

Mike Pollock and Roger Craig Smith nominated for Behind The Voice Actor Awards

It’s seemingly not often that the vocal talents behind the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise receive any real recognition for their work on the series (and disappointingly so) – but rejoice, there is good news on this front at last! Two of the series’ principal cast members have been nominated for accolades in the latest Behind The Voice Actor Awards, and they’ll no doubt be looking for your votes and support to help them take home the gold.

Roger Craig Smith, known of course amongst the fanbase as the voice of the titular blue blur, has been nominated in the Best Male Vocal Performance in a Video Game in a Supporting Role category for portraying the wise-cracking Wonder Blue in the recent Wii U title from Platinum Games, The Wonderful 101. However, it’s Mike Pollock that should be getting special attention from the Sonic fandom, as he has been nominated in the Best Male Vocal Performance in a Video Game category for his role as none other than Dr. Eggman, specifically in last year’s Sonic Lost World.

The two vocal stars are in esteemed company in their respective categories, nominated alongside the likes of Troy Baker (the voice of Espio), Nolan North, and Alan Young (Scrooge McDuck himself!).

We here at The Sonic Stadium wish to congratulate both Mike and Roger on their nominations, and if you wish to cast your votes for them you can do so at the awards page (you’ll need to register for an account first though). The winners are scheduled to be announced next Wednesday (19th March), so you don’t have long to get your votes in!

ASRT’s Soundtrack To Receive CD Release

Come May, the Japanese version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will be released, and if you happen to live in Japan and pre-order, you get a sound track CD.

However, a recent listing posted on HMV.jp would indicate that the OST is to also get a full retail release. In fact several Japanese retailers have recently posted a listing for an ASRT soundtrack on their websites. Details are that it’ll be a single disk release, and its due out on May 14th.

Despite a strong demand for a physical soundtrack release since the games début here in the west, there doesn’t appear to be any plans to bring this over to the US or Europe at this time, which isn’t unusual for Sonic OST releases. But if that changes we’ll be sure to let you know.

So over in Rio, the people there love to party! And, as part of this years Rio Carnival, one school group decided to party on mass as Sonic. From what little knowledge I know of the Rio Carnival, there seems to be a ‘theme’ each year, but there’s also various sub themes that carnival schools can chose to do.

Well one school decided it was going to go to the carnival as Sonic… … I don’t know why, but it’s awesome!

Why can’t this kind of thing happen near where I live?

Paladone to release a LOAD of new Sonic items!

Paladone, a gift supplier with a whole range of different products has recently unveiled a whole slew of new Sonic the Hedgehog inspired merchandise. Several new items have been made available for pre-order courtesy of the UK based retailer Forbidden Planet International.

Out of all of these though, there is still no sign of Paladone’s Sonic themed Doodle Jump figure, initially seen a few months back. Possibly something that will be seen later? Time will have to tell on that one.

SEGA Nerds interview with Stephen Frost

SEGA Nerds have put up a video webcam interview with Stephen Frost that explores more about Sonic Boom. There’s some more insight on the 3DS version, as well as more talk about the beginnings, the show, and what not.

There are also code giveaways in the video itself (Stephen shows them on a piece of paper) for 3D Classics Sonic the Hedgehog for 3DS, but I think it’s safe to say they’ve been long taken by now. 😛
