Jakks Pacific To Livestream SDCC 2023 Panel

Jakks Pacific, the prolific manufacturers of various Sonic toys, will have a panel at this years San Diego Comic Con. The panel will take place July 21 at 9PM EST. The panel will be livestreamed on their Instagram at /jakkspacific.toys, though we will also have someone on the ground to provide coverage!

New reveals can be expected this panel, though chances are at least some of them will be ones that have already been leaked, such as their upcoming Blaze figure. Nevertheless, we should at least get time frames for upcoming waves!

Sonic the Hedgehog to Feature in BE@RBRICK Series 46 Lineup

Well, this merch announcement snuck right past us! It appears that Sonic the Hedgehog will be immortalised this Fall as a collectible BE@RBRICK figurine, forming part of the Japanese brand of toys’ Series 46 lineup.

This will actually be the second time Sonic has appeared as a BE@RBRICK – the last time being around 2011 for Series 23 to coincide with the blue blur’s 20th anniversary. That previous figure had a slightly different design (and honestly looked pretty goofy with his massive nose), so this new design actually feels a lot closer to the real deal.

Sonic will be one of 21 special BE@RBRICK designs (six of them are secret) in the Series 46 set that you can collect, but as is tradition with these kinds of Japanese toys, actually getting him will require a significant amount of luck as you have to buy these figures in “blind box” packaging. Meaning you won’t know which figure you will get until you actually open the box.

But if that’s a risk you’re willing to take, for a figure that looks like this, then you will be able to order individual Series 46 BE@RBRICK figures from this website when they officially go on sale around August 2023 (it seems the website is sold out for pre-orders at this time). Each figure will cost around $8 USD.

If you’re a masochist with bags of money – in this economy! – you can also get a full blind box set of 24 figures for $184 from the above website (or for a little more sane $115 USD from this store instead). We would hope that would guarantee you get the Sonic figure, for that price, but nothing is truly certain in this world.

Tell Fortunes Like a Hedgehog! The Official Amy Rose Fortune Deck Gets New Pre-Order Details

Back in February, we reported that an official Amy Rose Fortune Card Deck was on the way. Pre-orders are now available at AmazonBarnes & Noble, and other Simon & Schuster distributed bookstores. The deck is currently listed at $27.99 with a November 21 release date (a bit out from the original Barnes & Noble listing of $24.99 and October 10).

The set includes 78 fully illustrated cards, including the Major and Minor Arcana (or however they’re interpreted in Sonic’s world), and a 128 page guidebook. Though on all storefronts, there’s a large “Art Not Final” label, the cards shown include “Statue Savior” (the Tidal Tempest angel statue), “The Master” (Emerald), and “Chao’s Fruit” (self explanatory). The cover also shows card designs with Silver’s glove and Knuckles’ fist. The colorful card backs feature iconography from the series like rings, gems, flowers, bumpers, and checkerboard patterns, while the face’s yellow and dark-red border emphasize whether the card is drawn right-side-up or upside-down.

With the series taking a hard (hammer) swing back towards Amy’s old Fortune Teller lore, this design for Amy’s deck has already appeared in the IDW comic series, Sonic Origins’ animated cutscenes, and possibly even in an upcoming Sonic Frontiers update. Whether you see this as a functional novelty, a series of cute art prints, or even a cosplay accessory, this is an interesting choice for one of the series’ first major adaptations of in-world object to physical merch.

TONS of New SEGA & Sonic Merch Shown Off at Brand Licensing Expo 2023

Get ready to argue if it’s “Waldo” or “Wally,” because you’re going to need to squint to pick out all the new and old merch in SEGA’s booth at Brand Licensing Expo 2023. Naoto Ohshima on Twitter snapped a photo of the packed shelves of toys, plush, calendars, books, and sporting goods. Here’s a taste of what we can pick out, but I’m sure Twitter will be combing through this for days, so don’t consider our initial look exhaustive:

Of the especially new and cool stuff, one thing that stands out most is the previously rumored Death Egg playset from Jakks Pacific, and as we can now see, is a legit full Death Egg that flips around to reveal the final boss of… (Care to guess? No seriously, I want you to guess. Because you won’t be able to.) Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II. Listen, I know how you feel about the overall Sonic 4 project, but that last boss, the one where you fight Eggman in a giant robot heart is rad, and I won’t hear otherwise.

image.png.b1b938c404b13e0758fe88e19f9cd3c9.png

Near the bottom right at the intersection of IDWtown and Plush Junction is a previously unannounced plush of our favorite mad scientist drama club kid, Dr. Starline (almost certainly coming from Great Eastern Entertainment), bringing the IDW-to-plush character count up to three.

image.png.14b3cea4f7e9ed1b4a9000454e9255bc.png

Finally (because we simply cannot highlight every major item there), it’s worth taking a good look at the previously announced Knuckles the Dread Pirate Ship playset, because it’s a LOT bigger than you may think it is from the promotional pics. I recommend using the actual human head and back behind the toy as a scale reference.

image.png.b21db24a387c490ab704acbf1074c80b.png

I’m certain the comments will have quite a blast picking apart what else can be found hiding in Mr. Arzest’s treasure trove tweet, so have at it, and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on when we have official public announcements for some of these new merch items.

F4F’s Sonic Adventure Statue Priced, Up For Pre-Order

First4Figures’ latest Sonic PVC statue, based on Sonic’s iconic Adventure 1 box art pose, is finally priced and up for pre-order. The statue comes in three variants including basic, collectible, and definitive, though only the latter two are currently available on F4F’s website. This is notable, since the website won’t charge you the full price immediately, and also allows for installation payments. F4F’s website gives the statues a broad Q4 release date, while Entertainment Earth says they will be released in November, and SEGA Shop Europe gives them an October date.

Details on the statues, including photos, pricing, and pre-order links are below:

Basic

The cheapest statue, it lacks any sort of the bells and whistles of the other editions, including the circular base. It’s dimensions are H: 8.3″ (21cm) x W: 6.3″ (16cm) x D: 5.6″ (14.2cm). Not available on F4F’s website.

Can be bought at Entertainment Earth for $89.99 here. Europeans can obtain a statue from SEGA Europe’s shop for £79.99 here.

Collector’s Edition

This statue includes a circular base illuminated by an LED. The lighting can either be static or animated. It’s dimensions are H: 9.1″ (23cm) x W: 6.5″ (16.5cm) x D: 6.9″ (17.5cm), and it’s priced at $119.99/£99.99.

You can get it from F4F’s website here. You can get it from SEGA Shop Europe here.

Definitive Edition

This edition adds a resin ring around Sonic, illuminated by LEDs. The LEDs can either be static or animated. The speed of the animation can be adjusted with a dial on the back. Only a limited number of these statues will be produced, and each statue will receive its own number and authentication card. It’s dimensions are H: 10.8″ (27.5cm) x W: 10.6″ (27cm) x D: 7″ (18cm). The statue currently has an early bird price of $279.99 on F4F, which will last until June 26. After that, the statue will be priced at $299.99. It’s £259.99 at SEGA Shop Europe.

You can pre-order it from F4F’s shop here, or from SEGA Europe here.

Finally, if you want to see these statues in motion, you can check out the Youtube video below:

Blaze Coming in Wave 14 of Jakks Pacific’s 4” Figures

Blaze the Cat is finally coming to Jakks Pacific’s line of Sonic toys in August. Entertainment Earth recently posted a listing for Jakks Pacific’s 14th wave of their 4” figures, with Blaze the Cat among the line-up. According to the listing, she will come with a sol emerald of unknown color.

Aside from her, the rest of the wave will be reprintings of previous figures, including Modern Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles. The EE listing is meant for stores, not regular consumers, hence the high price. Notably, these figures are being sold to stores in cases of 6, with each case containing only one Blaze. So she may be a bit hard to find.

Modern Sonic Craftable Action Figures Spotted on Amazon

The latest in Just Toy’s line of Craftable Sonic action figures have just popped up on Amazon, with this latest series featuring modern versions of the Sonic cast. Sonic, Knuckles, Shadow, Amy and Tails are all available, complete with their own “scenes” that can be combined into one larger scene once all of the characters are collected and assembled.

However, if these interest you, be forewarned: these are sold in blind boxes, meaning you can’t be sure which ones you’ll get when you order them off of Amazon. The characters are sold for $11 a piece, and you can pre-order them here. They are set to ship next week, on March 23.

Sonic Burger King Toys Now Available in the US

A few months ago, we reported Sonic toys suddenly arriving in Burger Kings in Spain. At the time the full scope of this promotion was unknown, but we now know this won’t just be confined to Europe: these toys are now available in the US!

Twitter user @TheSpeedSpirit broke the news revealing that he picked up two toys, including an Amy-themed puzzle cube and a miniature Sonic basketball game with Sonic & Knuckles hoops.

A total of six toys are available. In addition to what SpeedSpirit posted, there’s also an Eggman fidget spinner, and other toys themed around Sonic, Tails and Shadow. Check out an image featuring all of them below:

There’s no telling how long these toys will be available, so if you want them you might want to swing by a Burger King at some point in the next few weeks.

Sonic Frontiers Merch Leaked, DLC and Release Date Potentially Confirmed

Well, we’ve got another Sonic Frontiers leak, this time via what appears to be a flier for merch. It’s hard to tell, since everything is either in Chinese or Japanese and translation tools aren’t much help.

Bare minimum, the image below gives us a new, low res look at some character art from the game. Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and the kocos are all featured, and there appear to be two silhouettes with question marks, which may be pointing towards to other yet-to-be-revealed characters for the game. These appear to be prizes for something.

The merch has a release date of November 15, which could point towards a release date of the game itself. Sonic games usually hit around this time of year, so it wouldn’t be especially surprising. The flier also makes mention of DLC, which could confirm that Sonic Frontiers will have some.

Check out the flier below:

The flier came from a Taiwanese website. You can find it here.

Impressions: Sonic x Higround Green Hill Keyboard

I’m not a keyboard hobbyist. My day-to-day workhorse is a straightforward wireless Logitech board that I use until it stops working. So when keyboard maker Higround provided us with a sample of their Sonic the Hedgehog line of USB wired keyboards and accessories, I was curious (and a bit skeptical) of what using a higher end keyboard would be like. For me, the shift hasn’t revolutionized how I think about keyboards, nor will it supplant my current keyboard for daily use, but Higround’s design is undeniably quite functional and a beautiful, compact art object.

New and Known Sonic Toys from Jakks Pacific at SDCC 2022

Site writer Shigs live tweeted the Jakks Pacific panel at San Diego Comic-Con this year, and while there isn’t a whole lot we haven’t seen through retailer leaks and prior reveals, consider this a round up of what they’ll be offering this year, and where they might be exclusive to.

These Funko Pop masks won’t hit Walmart until November, but I think we can agree that they’re truly frightening at any time of the year. They’re listed as “half mask,” so expect business in the front, and absolutely no party in the back.

This Fall will feature several new “Deluxe” costumes for Sonic 2’s Knuckles, Tails, and Dr. Robotnik, and hey, even Baby Sonic! Your entire face is their muzzle for the true 4-eye effect! Dual-tails have been attached to the full back of the costume to prevent accidental flight.

The Egg Mobile battle set was previously revealed during the most recent Sonic Central presentation. The set includes accessories to transform into a variety of boss vehicles from Sonic 1 and 2, from the classic ball-and-chain from Green Hill, to the double-drill machine from Mystic Cave.

Exclusive to Target will be this Flying Battery Zone playset, featuring spinning propellers, rotating flames, a sprite art Technosqueek, and two, TWO spike traps! Can you push those spikes for secrets? Who’s to say! Expect the set this Fall.

Jakks did highlight a few items that are currently available, such as their 6″ solar-powered Sonic figure with tapping toe and moving eyelids. But at least we get to enjoy a big MS Word explosion star shape with tiny lettering. And that’s worth something, right?

They also showed off their Modern Sonic Collectors Edition figure with a Tropical Resort base (6″ tall, to go alongside their Classic Sonic Collectors Edition figure on a Studiopolis base). Like his classic counterpart, Modern Sonic comes with a number of facial expressions, hands, and a Cyan Wisp buddy to complete the scene. The figure is currently… available, but is also out of stock at most online retailers.

Finally, Jakks wrapped up with their small figure sets. The next wave of 2.5″ figures includes modern Tails and Shadow, and classic Sonic, Knuckles, and Eggman. At 4″ are an additional wave of Sonic 2 movie figures of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Super Sonic with accessories, and a Walmart exclusive Skateboard Sonic with additional articulation and thick black lines to imitate a hand drawn style.

We’ll continue to cover any major SDCC news through the convention, but be sure to follow us on Twitter for immediate updates! And of course big thanks to Shigs for his live reporting from the convention.

Classic Eggman Figure, First 4, Pez, and Razor Feature New Merch on Sonic Central

One of the highlight’s of today’s Sonic Central was merchandise partnerships currently available and through this fall.

Following last year’s Eggman Robot set, this year’s big Jakks Pacific set is Eggman’s hovercraft with accessories to recreate multiple boss fights.

Razer will be releasing a Sonic themed Xbox series controller with matching charging stand.

EXG Pro, makers of weird statues that hold your phone, will add modern Sonic to their collection. A collection that currently includes Classic Sonic, Classic Tails, Classic Amy Rose, Classic Super Sonic, and two other variants of Classic Sonic.

First 4 Figures will be releasing a duo of character statues, featuring modern Amy and Tails. No details have been stated regarding the scale or price of these statues.

On the much, MUCH more affordable side of merch, Pez has already released a trio of classic Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles dispensers. At time of writing, Knuckles is already sold out on their online store.

Clothing brand Hype released a line of Sonic clothing that is… basically already sold out. You can look at it if you want but the size scale on this line aims at 16 and younger.

Moor Art Gallery will be adding several more poster designs to their… you guessed it, largely sold out collection. They’re nice (and pricey) posters, but be prepared to grab them as soon as they’re in stock.

Neamedia Icons, a resin figure group, currently has available resin 5″ classic Sonic figures on their official store, and (checks notes) they are apparently in stock at time of writing! If you want a monochromatic Sonic for some reason, seems like now’s your time!

Pre-orders for Japanese figure maker Bellfine’s 12″ soft vinyl Sonic figure are available among many online toy stores. Despite the “Available Now,” Bellfine’s website lists the release date as November, and international sellers don’t expect to get stock until early next year.

…No, not again. I can’t handle this again.

At any rate, I think we can all agree, that Eggman hovercraft toy looks really cool, and may have been the highlight of the entire Sonic Central. Look forward to it and maybe some of these other licensed Sonic collectables throughout 2022 and beyond. But not too beyond. The patterns here indicate that things seem to be selling out rather quickly.

More McDonald’s Sonic 2 Happy Meal Toys Leaked

Well, it seems that all but one of the McDonald’s Sonic 2 Happy Meal toys have been leaked.

In an image that was apparently posted on the McDonalds Australia website showed off all but one of the upcoming plastic McDonald’s toys, and has now made its way to Twitter. The image confirms that McDonalds will be producing three Knuckles toys, three Tails toys, two Sonic toys, and a Giant Eggman Robot toy. A tenth “surprise” toy wasn’t shown. You can check the toys out below:

With the movie only a month out, the official unveiling of these toys should be imminent. Perhaps someone over at McDonald’s Australia accidentally pulled the trigger a few days early.

EDIT: Seems the final toy has been leaked via a Youtube video, and is apparently a spoiler. We don’t be posting it here. As we approach the movie’s release, it’ll be more difficult to avoid spoilers on social media, we recommend following these steps.

New Sonic 2 Movie Playset Leaked (Potentially Movie Spoilers Within)

UPDATE: The box art had a rather significant spoiler I missed. Also, Sonic Jenny said Jakks Pacific asked her to remove the images. Given those two things, we’re just going to go ahead and remove the images pre-emptively. We’re currently leaving details regarding what the playset is about, however.

Original Story:

The Sonic 2 movie is now just a month away, and more merchandise has just gotten leaked. Today? A playset centered around the Giant Eggman Robot we first saw in a trailer.

We put up a spoiler warning because the playset potentially hints at something regarding where Sonic will be fighting the robot.

This playset is likely a part of the Jakks Pacific wave 2 that was revealed a few days ago.

These images were posted on Twitter by @SonicJenny, who said it was shared on her Discord server.

Jakks Announces Ray the Flying Squirrel Plush, Egg Robo & Espio Figures

Jakks Pacific’s latest waves of Sonic toys have been revealed, and they include some rarely and never-before-seen faces!

In their upcoming 9th wave of Sonic 4 inch figures, Egg Robo makes its action figure debut. It also includes Espio, who hasn’t had a figure since that one Jazzware figure years ago. The wave also includes Modern Sonic with a star spring, and Modern Tails with an invincibility box.

Perhaps the most notable new addition is the Ray the Flying Squirrel plush, which will be a part of their 7th wave of plushes. In the character’s almost 30 years of existence, this will be his very first official plush. Jade Wisp also makes their plush debut as a part of this wave, which also includes reissues of Mighty (who debuted last year) and Modern Sonic.

An 8th wave of 2.5 inch figures was also revealed, which includes Classic Sonic, Classic Knuckles, Classic Eggman, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Modern Tails.

Finally, a second wave of 4 inch Sonic movie figures has also been revealed, though no details have been confirmed.

F4F Polling Interest in a Sally Acorn Statue UPDATE: Final Results In

UPDATE: The poll is closed, and the results are in:

The poll received a total of 1047 votes, the most one of these polls have gotten in years. Of those, 800 were yes, which is also the highest amount any character has gotten in years. That means yes won with 76.4% of the vote, placing her in the top 12 of all time, just ahead of Horizon Zero Dawn’s Aloy.

So what happens next? Who knows. As we said in the original article, there is no guarantee a Sally statue will get made, even with really good numbers. Chief among them, even if F4F decides it wants to make a statue, SEGA itself still needs to say yes.

Looking at previous polling winners, like NiGHTS into Dreams’ Reala, it will likely be years before a statue is available, if one even gets made.

Original story below:

More than five years since she last appeared in the Sonic comics, Princess Sally Acorn may finally have a shot at a new piece of merchandise via high-end collectibles maker First4Figures. F4F is currently running a poll asking its community whether or not they would pre-order a Sally Acorn statue. This is a weekly poll called “Thursday Temptations,” wherein F4F tests community interest in various characters. While the results of a poll do not guarantee the creation of a statue, F4F will at least explore doing something with the character if the numbers are strong enough.

As of this writing, the yeses are winning with 73% of the vote, 578 to 217. While those may seem like small numbers, that’s actually the most votes any character has gotten in this poll in years. The poll is set to run through Wednesday, though participants will need to join F4F’s Facebook community in order to vote.

There’s more to this than simply convincing F4F to make a Sally statue. According to Ian Flynn, who has long been boosting efforts to bring the character (and the other Freedom Fighters) back into the Sonic franchise, getting a statue would also simply be “big” for the character.

If you would pre-order a Sally Acorn statue, you can vote for the character here. We’ll update this post with the final results on Thursday.

NiGHTS into Merchandise: A Brief Overview of NiGHTS Merch

The NiGHTS franchise may not be nearly as big as Sonic, but its had its fair share of merchandise over the years, much of which is now rare, expensive, and/or obscure. I thought it would be fun to explore some of what’s been made over the years. This is far from a complete list, but we’re at least going over some of the more interesting bits of merch NiGHTS has had in the last 25 years.

NiGHTS into Dreams UFO Plushies

NiGHTS into Dreams didn’t receive much in the way of plushies, but it did get one set of them…which were made exclusively for SEGA’s UFO Capture devices. For those unaware, these devices were claw machines, and could often be found in arcades. The NiGHTS plushies have been rare and expensive for decades, and a single one of these plushies typically commands a price of hundreds of dollars. If that sounds familiar to you Sonic fans, its because Sonic the Fighters had a plushy line that was distributed the same way, and is now just as rare and expensive.

There was also a line of Christmas SEGA plushes that includes many NiGHTS characters, as well as a line of small NiGHTS plush key chains. I think these were also for UFO Captures, but I’ve been unable to confirm that for his article. NiGHTS was also part of a 1996 SEGA keychain figure line, though I’m not sure how those were distributed.

NiGHTS into Dreams Soundtrack

Released days after the NiGHTS game on July 11, the OST was released exclusively in Japan for ¥28,000 under the PolyGram record label. Not an especially remarkable release, but it was at least enough for Sonic Team to include it amongst Christmas NiGHTS’ extras (which is where the photos for the plushes came from).

NiGHTS: Flying Through the Sky Without Wings (storybook)

In December of 1996, NiGHTS received a storybook adaptation. Published by Futabasha, the 54 page book was written by Kyoko Inukai and featured illustrations by Takumi Miyake. It’s a loose adaptation of the game’s story, though with many details changed or written out. The basic premise of Wizeman creating NiGHTS, and seeking to conquer Nightopia, remain intact. The story only features Elliot, as he learns to find the courage within himself. Outside of Reala and Wizeman, none of the other Nightmaren bosses appear. The ideya are nowhere to be found, instead replaced by a “red energy” likely inspired by the red ideya of courage.

The book would later be reprinted in 2008 and sold with the PS2 re-release of NiGHTS. The book was never translated into English, though TRiPPY over at nightsintodreams.com was able to get a fan translation done, which you can find here.

NiGHTS into Dreams… Tiger Electronics LCD Game

NiGHTS was one of the many SEGA IPs to get adapted into an LCD game by Tiger Electronics. The LCD game was released in 1997, and was also eventually re-released as part of Tiger’s “Pocket Arcade” line and as a game for their R-Zone LCD console.

NiGHTS into Dreams… Archie Comics

Sonic wasn’t the only SEGA series to get a comic adaptation from Archie. In late 1997, Archie Comics released a three issue NiGHTS mini series featuring writing from Dan Slott, as well as pencil breakdowns from renowned Sonic cover artist Patrick Spaziente and pencil finishes by Knuckles comic artist Manny Galan. The comics aren’t completely divorced from the game story, and does share some similarities. Just as in the games, NiGHTS was a creation of Wizeman who rebelled. Wizeman seeks to open a portal to the waking world.

It’s in the finer details where things diverge. Instead of taking any human’s dream energy, Wizeman needs the energy of specific dreamers who only come about every 100 years with “red ideya.” His initial attempt to do this, which is foiled by NiGHTS, inadvertently leads to the founding of the city of Twin Seeds, where Claris and Elliot live 100 years later.

The mini series would ultimately spawn a second three issue mini series in July of 1998, written by then Sonic writer Karl Bollers, and with pencil finishes by Sam Maxwell. After this second mini series, the NiGHTS comic was canceled. It has never been collected in a graphic novel or re-released digitally. There are, of course, ways, but you’ll need to find that for yourself.

NiGHTS PaPetch

Unsurprisingly, NiGHTS merchandise would take a break for awhile. The next bit of merch in this run down was released 9 whole years after the Archie Comics, in December of 2007. Released as part of a line of mini figurines by besidegames called PaPetch, the above figurine was released alongside NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams as a pre-order bonus in Japan.

The figurine was just a little over two inches two and based on JoD’s NiGHTS design.

NiGHTS & Reala from First4Figures

In 2015, First4Figures released a NiGHTS resin 12.5” statue as part of its SEGA All-Stars line. The statue came in both regular and “exclusive editions,” priced at $210 and $235, and limited to 1000 and 500 pieces respectively. The exclusive edition lit up.

Years later, in 2017, F4F held a vote to gauge interest in a Reala statue, which had been in production but was in danger of being canceled due to perceived lack of interest. The statue was made available for pre-order last year, and is being sold in both standard and exclusive variants for $330. As with NiGHTS, the exclusive edition lights up. Reala is scheduled to release in Q3 2021, and can still be bought here.

And the rest…

There’s more NiGHTS merch, of course. There’s promotional pillows, clothing, stickers, and probably other things I’v missed. SEGA’s US shop currently has a jigsaw puzzle, a shirt, and a Christmas ornament. My personal hope is that NiGHTS might receive something a bit more than some clothes and puzzles, but a bit less than a $200 statue. Here’s hoping we might get another plush that isn’t a super expensive collector’s item one day!

Sonic The Card Game – Release Date, Price, and Details Revealed

After last month’s announcement of Sonic: The Card Game, Steamforge Games has revealed further details about the game and its box art. The boxed product is expected to launch in September, 2021 at a suggested price of $19.95, £14.99, and €17.95.

The 20-30 minute game allows 2-6 players to play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, or Blaze, as the deck produces a level for the characters to race through. While no specific mechanics have been revealed, Steamforge implies there will be some form of press-your-luck element, stating, “Each time a new card is placed, they must decide whether to keep racing to try and grab a bigger pot of rings, or to retire and collect their share of the rings and bonus cards on the table. If players keep racing, they risk running into enemies and losing lives, but the chance to win more rings and bonus cards could be tempting enough to keep racing on.”

Steamforge Games‘ previously published works include board game versions of Dark Souls, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Resident Evil 2, PAC-MAN, and Ni no Kuni II. Expect a detailed review when the game launches later this year.
