For those who do not know, June is known to many as PRIDE month. A month where people unite to promote, stand up for and celebrate the rights and history of LGBTQ people. Opinion Zone 67: SammyClassicSonicFan Interview
https://audioboom.com/posts/5881770-opinion-zone-67-exclusive-sammyclassicsonicfan-interview-revisit
For those of you who don’t know, SammyClassicSonicFan (Sammy Harbors) was a kid on YouTube who use to have very powerful raging rants on YouTube about our favourite blue mascot. In fact they were so popular he sort of become a “internet meme celebrity”. Ever seen any GIF, or meme with the word frick? That’s him. However one day he just sort of gave up and quit the internet completely, until a year or so again when he restarted his video uploading on a infrequent basis. While the personality is borderline treated as a fictional myth at this point, he is a real person. And even though he is a very introverted person, he once sat down with us for a chat about all these shenanigans from his own personal perspective.
Have you ever wondered if the rants were genuine or played up for camera? Have you ever pondered if he’s seen Chadtronic and what he thinks of him? Maybe you are even curious what he is up to these days or why he stopped originally? Well this will have all your queries put to rest! We also test him on his Sonic trivia in a fun little quiz, because it only seems fair we find out how well he truly knows that fricking hedgehog. This was an interview we recorded a year and a half or so ago, but I think it’s important to remind people that he is just as human as the rest of us. What better time for a throwback Thursday!

Opinion Zone 65: Sonic Time Twisted Interview with creator Overbound Games!
For fans living under a rock, Sonic Time Twisted is an unofficial Sonic the Hedgehog game that has been in development as a pet project for 12 years. But unlike a lot of fan game projects, this one was finished!
To celebrate today’s release of the long awaited project, we sat down with the creator to discuss what is needed to push through to the end of such a long running piece of work. Not only that but we also discuss our thoughts on the finished project and if it is worth your time downloading! We also discover that the OST features a track very similar to another fans work in 2010, what does our (half hearted) investigation discover!?
We also cover the last weeks news in Sonic (oh my did a lot happen this week!).
Have you played the game yet? Let us know what you think in the comments!

Opinion Zone 59: Farewell Dan Sheridan
As you most probably heard from yesterdays article, Dan Sheridan has now left SEGA Europe. At just over a year in the role of Europe’s Community Manager, it is quite impressive what he achieved in such a relatively small time frame. Having spent a trip with him in San Diego after winning last years contest to find Europe’s biggest Sonic fan, it only makes sense that todays opinion revolves around the man and his Sonic hat. (Skip to roughly 37 minutes in if you wish to skip the news and head straight to our Sheridan discussion)
This is also the start of a new season of The Opinion Zone, which brings a whole new range of segments for your enjoyment. In fact, we are looking for you guys to help us with a future show piece! If you think you have quite an interesting Sonic/Sega related fact or anecdote about yourself or something you once did (can be light hearted, dark, funny, strange, really anything!) then send us an email to thesonicshowchannel (at) gmail (dot) com. You must be happy to talk to us on the podcast to be applicable,

The Opinion Zone: Sonic’s 2016 In Review
As The Opinion Zone crew went for a quiet hibernation since Christmas, we only just realised we never did a year in review. Considering 2016 was the year of Sonic’s 25th Anniversary and considering we love to argue about opinions, it seemed odd that we let this slip past us!
The gang discuss everything from Sonic Runners closing its doors to all the chaos of the Project 2017 announcement. Of course we do it with a selection of strong language so please be warned!
What was your highlight of 2016 and do you think it met your expectations for an anniversary year? Let us know in the comments!

Zone Runners Release First Music Video
For those who do not know, Zone Runners are a popular music-inspired hip hop trio. All their music takes inspiration from your favourite Sonic levels and is certainly worth a listen.
Despite making three releases since their debut, the group have yet to put any of their music to video. That is of course, until today!

Fan Game Gives Him a Nose Bleed
So we did our first live stream show in a long, long time and we were just going to post the highlight reel and be done.
However, during the stream we were playing a fan game, one so random and stupid (Evil The Hedgehog 2) that in the laughter, Tom got a nose bleed. It made us wonder really, what fan game have you seen that made you think, “What on earth is this world I live in?”.

Sonic The Cosplayer does a “sexy” cosplay?
We assume you have heard of Sonic The Cosplayer? If not, he takes a unique “spin” on cosplaying by always acting in character as “Sonic”, a special Sonic who likes to cosplay as a variety of cool characters. Every wondered how Sonic would dress as Mario, or how the blur blur would look as Harry Potter? Then this is your guy!
We love him so much, we thought he was the perfect guy to go head to head with in our second The Sonic ShowDown. A series where we challenge people in the community to see who is superior. Which cosplay did you prefer from this challenge?
You can watch the last episode of our ShowDown series below.

Sonic Boom’s E3 Makeover
Our own Hogfather brought this up on our message boards. Look at this snapshot from Sonic Boom’s pre-E3 B-Roll footage.
Looks like an old PS2 game right? Super bland textures. No lighting. Now look at the same area from footage taken during E3.
Holy cow! What a difference! It looks 100 times better.
This brings up an important question. Why in the world was that B-Roll footage ever allowed to be shown to the press and public in the first place? This does nothing but sour peoples feelings towards the game. It even affected my thoughts on the game on Sonic Talk pre-E3 (plug, plug).
If anything positive can be said, it shows how much a game’s look can be improved in just a short time (or it could be the effects were turned off to help stabilize frame rate). In the meantime, check out both videos below to see some of the other differences.

Freak-Out Friday: Winter Run – Join with perfect Bob the hedgehog in this endless running game
Winter Run – Join with perfect Bob the hedgehog in this endless running game
…I’m not kidding. That’s the actual title.
In a move that surprised absolutely nobody following the god awful monstrosity that was “Jiffy and the Super Hedgehogs” in YOLOLabs’ now nonexistent A Hedgehog Dash (feel free to check out Sonic Retro’s review on that particular Sonic knock-off), yet another faker has emerged on the iOS market – introducing perfect Bob the hedgehog!
But you need not hear me spill out the questionable contents of this completely original game! Here to provide commentary is our special guest from The Sonic Show, my good friend “Let’s Player of the North” Tanner!
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIKbr72ZMxg
Thank you Tanner, for your great and noble sacrifice. I will carve your face into a continent in remembrance.
Oh, and get this. There’s actually an in-app purchase in this title, “copyright” to Lambro Solutions. Just one.
“Remove Ads“.
Pay a dollar to remove the one and only thing that makes up Winter Run.
WELP, let’s break this down real quick, TSS Review style!
YOU’LL LOVE
+ Absolutely nothing!
YOU’LL HATE
– Ads everywhere that you have to pay to remove;
– ‘Solo Bobico’;
– No single player mode, bad news bears for those without internet;
– Collision detection out the wazoo, floors don’t exist;
– “THOSE ARE ‘RINGS’, NOT ‘COINS’, GAH!!”
– No really, literal stacks of ads;
– “Oh my freaking god, how does that thing even LOOK like a hedgehog!?”
– Yourself if you actually used up iPod/iPhone memory space for this (unless you’re Tanner for the sake of this article);
– “THIS IS NOT A ‘GAME'”;
– Did I already mention ads?
I don’t know about any of you, but I’m not willing to “join with perfect Bob” on his winter run anytime soon.
Back to Soleanna for me then!

Brotherhoods, Werehogs, and Paradoxes – The Animations of Summer of Sonic 2013
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gpkal5PplVU
“Aha!” is right!
We’ve managed to provide a steady stream of content coming from Summer of Sonic 2013. Be it the interviews we’ve held with Takashi Iizuka and Metal Sonic creator Kazuyuki Hoshino, the exclusive Lost World trailer or the Special Effects auction, there’s still one crucial piece we have yet to cover – the fan-made animations!
Presented throughout the day, these four works were showcased on the main stage, starting off with the Sonic the Comic-themed intro Boozerman and The Sonic Show provided above.
In order of appearance!
First up is one of two projects the folks at Sonic Paradox put together for the occasion, this one being a follow-up to last year’s Sonic Heroes music video-slash-parody-slash-tribute, Seaside Denied! With Eggman’s forces scattered throughout Grand Metropolis, join Teams Sonic (792Ashman), Dark (Whitesonic), Rose (RGX), and Chaotix (TheWax) once more as they tear through the HEXAeco city in their latest musical romp, Metropolis Mayhem!
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSj7yRyPWaQ
Lyrics by Recorderdude, Dr. Mack Foxx, and Aaraboga. Credits scene animated by KaDoYuu!
As Eggman pulls a fast one on the Blue Blur and unleashes yet another monster of the week, it’s up to a lycanthropic Sonic and his amnesiac best friend to save the world! Featuring the voice works of GameBuddy, Psyguy, CrikeyDave, Kirbopher, Euan Kennedy and Mana the Dark Magician Girl, second in line is the newest entry to Frobman‘s In Brief series – Sonic Unleashed in Brief!
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsAKCsWawl0
And now, the motherload, and this one was a long time coming. Now online in its entirety, featuring a slew of shorts not shown at Summer of Sonic (as well as the final short in all of its uncensored glory), is a project many thought would never see the light of day. Wait no longer, for the animation community at Sonic Paradox has finally unveiled the fruits of their labour after almost three years in the making! Without further ado, here’s the latest entry to their trademark short compilations – Sonic Shorts Volume 8!
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co4IsJG12AU
After 5 years of gut-busting hilarity, it’s been a damn good run for the Sonic Shorts series, to which I can now say “Good night, sweet prince” – for the time being. All the best to Sonic Paradox with their future projects.
Bring on the SEGA Shorts!
