Sega have announced their line-up for this year’s Tokyo Game Show event in Japan (which includes Team Sonic Racing). Alongside it, they’ve announced a special stage event will be taking place on September 22nd at 15:10-15:40 that will be all about their Sega Ages line-up for the Switch eShop. Microsoft just held their weekly sale and among the games on sale are a bunch of Sonic’s titles for Xbox 360 for up to 50% off. While the games below have their US prices listed, the sale should be available worldwide and presumably the same discounts should apply. Following the worldwide release of Sonic Mania Plus last week, the first data indicates that the Nintendo Switch version accounted for 52% of all sales in the UK last week. The PS4 version accounted for 34% while the Xbox One version made up the remainder.

As announced back at the Sega Fes 2018 event back in April, Sega and the developer M2 will be releasing individual classics on the Nintendo Switch eShop as part of their Sega Ages line. This succeeds the Sega 3D Classics line from the Nintendo 3DS (also by M2), and one of the first two games to launch with the line is of course; Sonic 1 (the other being Thunder Force IV on Genesis). Sega has just released the E3 trailer for Team Sonic Racing and its got a rocking new Crush 40 tune to accompany it!
Team Sonic Racing is being developed by Sumo Digital and will be released this winter for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam.

Sega just announced at the Sega Fes 2018 event in Japan that they will be doing essentially a repeat of the Sega 3D Classics line on 3DS, but now on Switch. Just like on 3DS, these classic games will be brought to Switch by M2.

Update (7:18PM EST): There was also a skit before the reveal that seemed to indicate the plot of the game. Apparently, it might take place in a world where Sonic has failed, and Eggman has finally won.

It was just announced at the panel that the official name for Project Sonic 2017 is now Sonic Forces. More as it happens!

The official Sonic twitter account has shown off another teaser image, depicting the giant robots seen in the original trailer of Project Sonic 2017. The image was accompanied by the simple tease of “See you at @SXSWGaming!”.

A scan popped up on Twitter today from Nintendo Dream magazine in Japan showing bits of info for both Sonic Mania and Project Sonic 2017 on Nintendo Switch. While nothing of note was said of Sonic Mania, we got a few small bits about Project Sonic 2017, but nothing mind-blowing.

Sega back on Thursday put on sale most Sonic games available on Wii U and 3DS in NA, which runs until November 29th. The major exclusions include Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice and the Olympic games.

What seemed to be an eternity of waiting since its announcement on March 17th, 2015 has finally passed on October 20th, 2016, as Nintendo had at long last lifted the curtain on the “NX,” or should I say the Nintendo Switch. Even before that day, Sega officially announced that Sonic would indeed be making an appearance on the system. Here we are at last. It’s been almost two years after the Sonic Boom branch of the series launched with the TV show and the accompanying Wii U and 3DS games. We now have the second main Sonic Boom game (depending if you view Rise of Lyric on Wii U and Shattered Crystal on 3DS as a sibling pair of games), and this time it’s only on 3DS. Like Shattered Chrystal before it, Fire & Ice is once again developed by Sanzaru Games, who is also known for the Sly Cooper HD trilogy remaster and the fourth Sly game a few years back on PS3 and Vita. While Big Red Button’s Rise of Lyric launched in a poor and buggy state on Wii U, Shattered Crystal on 3DS was considered to be at least decent, though it had issues of its own. The question is, how does Fire & Ice fare?

This past Thursday, Sega released 4 new Sonic themes for the 3DS Theme Shop in NA. One of the which, the 25th Anniversary theme, is free to download! The other three can be bought individually for $2 USD each (sadly I can’t find the CDN prices) or in a 3-theme bundle for $4.99 USD or $6.49 CDN.

Just like the first two before it, Sega have announced via the Japanese magazine Famitsu that they will release a 3rd retail compilation of the 3D Classics games on 3DS. So far we only know of five games (all of which are already on the eShop) and will only be released in Japan at the moment. See the list of games below.

Just recently, Yuji Naka and Naoto Ohshima spoke with the Japanese magazine Famitsu, and commented on the origins of the Mario & Sonic series, as well as Sonic joining Super Smash Bros. Brawl. But Yuji Naka also said that he wishes to give another presentation to Sonic Team’s Takashi Iizuka about a potential Mario & Sonic action game. See the quote below.

I just bumped into this and had to share it. Jason Griffith, who most know voiced Sonic in the Sonic X anime in 2003 until Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing in 2010, actually did indeed still voice Sonic for at least one last time in a half hour Fall 2010 Preview of Toonzai on CW4Kids. Update: Decided to adjust a couple of things. First the message seems to more specifically say that a new Sonic project is coming next year (project seems to be the prevailing word rather than game, but some do report it as a game). While it’s not specified to be the big anniversary game, it is said that details will be announced at the 25th anniversary party in San Diego on July 22nd. The event in San Diego will also be live-streamed via Twitch. Finally, another very reliable site has put up the full details, along with the link to the live-stream archive which you can see below.

Sega have just held a Sonic event at Joypolis in Japan which we previously reported would be live-streamed (we do not yet have an archive of said live-stream yet). In the event, they have unveiled a couple of key things (the second of which is being posted about next), first is that they have unveiled a slew of sheets featuring many characters and their various stages of designs along with their final design.
