Mario & Sonic 2014 Official Site Goes Live

ms

Looking forward to the next sporting crossover between two of gaming’s giants? Well in that case you’ll be pleased to hear that the official website for Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games is now live! Nintendo of Europe made the following tweet earlier today:

Check out the new website for the latest game in the @MarioSonicGames series, coming to #WiiU this November!

But there’s not much to see as of yet. In fact, there’s nothing new there at all. Just an old trailer and a themed background. It’s teased that the full site will be coming soon though, hopefully with plenty of juicy new details along with it.

One new bit of information (or clarification) from this news though comes in the form of the game’s release date, which – as stated in the tweet above – is now officially “November”. It seems that despite Nintendo’s error regarding the 8th November launch date, Mario & Sonic will still be arriving on Wii U in time for the holiday season. Exciting!

And with a Nintendo Direct planned for tomorrow, who knows what potential Mario & Sonic related news we might see? Stay tuned to TSS for more as and when it happens!

[UPDATED!] Get even more DLC for your Deadly Six Edition!

shoptodlclostworldSonic Lost World is the game that just keeps on giving! On top of what looks to be a title already packed with content, we also have the Deadly Six Edition for Wii U containing DLC inspired by NiGHTS into Dreams… and now, thanks to UK retailer ShopTo, it looks like we have even more extra goodies to look forward to as well!

ShopTo recently made the below announcement on their Facebook page:

Sonic Lost World Deadly Six Edition on WiiU now comes with another 2 DLC codes!

The first one includes 5 Black Bombs Colour Powers to devastate your enemies five times over. The second includes a Rare Omochao RC Gadget, a chao-tastic way to help out Sonic. This title already comes with the NiGHTMARE DLC pack, which contains an extra level with enemies inspired by the Sega Saturn classic NiGHTS into Dreams, meaning you’ll get 3 DLC codes in total!

So, on top of NiGHTS-themed boss battles, we also have a golden Omochao RC and five uses of the Black Bomb Wisp to download on release day. You can pre-order Sonic Lost World: Deadly Six Edition at ShopTo for £32.86 by clicking here.

Thanks to SSMB member Phil Collins for pointing this out!

UPDATE: US retailer GameStop are also offering a similar bonus DLC offer, however there is no mention of the Black Bomb Wisp and it advertises an Omochao inspired by Sonic himself rather than the golden one ShopTo are giving away. Looks like there’s some region-exclusive DLC being distributed! Thanks to SSMB member Sonic CD for the heads up!

SLW_DLC_bonusLG

UPDATE #2: Hot off the press… there’s yet another pre-order bonus if you get the game from a different retailer, in this case Amazon.com! This one’s a little less exciting though – 25 extra lives. Still, a free bonus is a bonus, and you never know when some 1-ups might come in handy!

Blaze For Blaze in Sonic Dash’s Second Global Challenge

blaze_sonicdash

Following the success of the previous Sonic Dash Global Challenge, a new challenge has been issued by SEGA and Hardlight Studios, this time with the fiery princess of the Sol Dimension up for grabs!

The 2nd Global Challenge will allow players to unlock Blaze the Cat as a playable character upon beating personal records, and, just like the last challenge, cannot be accomplished alone!

blaze_sonicdash2

Your progress, filling up the left gauge, will be tallied along with fellow players around the world to reach the combined target, filling up the right gauge! With four stages to complete, should both personal and global targets be reached, Blaze will be free to blaze through the endless Seaside Hill as much as she pleases!

Here’s the catch: we’ve gotta rush for this one since we only have 9 days. Challenge ends on October 6th, so let’s get to work!

Be warned that, due to the recent release iOS 7, you may experience certain errors in-game if you hadn’t updated your Sonic Dash app since the past few days. The last update allows access to the latest Global Challenge, so if you’ve already accepted the challenge, you should be fine!

Jazwares Cancels Its Amy & Metal Sonic Plush

jazwaresbooth2013

I would like to give you some perspective on this as to why this is a bit of a big deal. Metal Sonic is a very popular character, Metal Sonic merchandise is also very popular. To date there have only been 2 Metal Sonic plushies, both of which are extremely rare and can often go into the several hundreds when they come up for sale.

There is a huge demand for Metal Sonic merchandise.

About 2 years ago, a Metal Sonic plush was spotted at a Toy Fair, despite not looking amazing, many people including myself were quite excited at the prospect of owning a Metal Sonic plush which wouldn’t require the use of Nathan Drake to find and Scrooge McDuck to fund. Since that toy fair, the plush was never seen again.

Then at the start of the year, the plush turned up at several toy fairs along with an Amy Rose plush. Both have appeared in officially released press photos and have even been up for pre-order. The UK’s ‘Smyths toys’ have it listed as being eventually available and it’s even on the Jazwares official website.

It looked like Sonic merch collectors and Metal Sonic fans would finally get their wish and a Metal Sonic plush would finally be released.

Well… Jazwares have decided to cancel the plush.

Several people who have pre-ordered the plush have been in touch to say that they’re now reciving emails saying that Jazwares have cancelled the plush, no explanation as to why it’s been cancelled where given.

Please accept our sincerest apologies, Jazwares contacted us this morning & told us they no longer plan to Manufacture the Metal Sonic Plush which you ordered.

As a result, there will be no way for us to source this product.

We feel absolutely terrible about this & would like to remedy this issue as painlessly as possible for you. Here are a few options we would like to offer you

1. We could replace the Metal Sonic Plush with another Sonic Plush of your choice, including our new Silver Sonic!(we will refund any price difference.)

2. We could provide you a full refund including an extra $5 as our small compensation for this situation.”

Several online retailers who have had pre-orders up for both these characters have also either pulled them or changed their listing to cancelled. Big bad Toy Story & Entertainment Earth have both change their listings for these items. It does indeed appear like these highly anticiptated toys will never see a release.

Speaking as someone who was really looking forward to this, I cannot believe how bad a decision this was. Two years of showing this at toy conventions, even going as far as taking publicity shots of it and only to cancel it? Seriously what was the reason behind that one? This would have sold, so many people were looking forward to it.

It should be also pointed out that at a toy fair earlier this year, Jazwares also showed a Super Sonic plush, however there has been no word yet as to the fate of this one.

For fans of merchandise, the wait for a reasonably price Metal Sonic plush continues.

P.S. In the email quote you can see the words ‘Silver Sonic plush’ this is actually Silver the Hedgehog and not a plush based on the Sonic 2 boss. Let me leave you with this thought, Metal Sonic and Amy have been cancelled… The Silver plush however is still being released…. … … Yeah I’ll let you lot debate how good that decision is in the comments.

Recent M&S 2014 release date “an error”

M&S2014_Wii_U_Boxart

You may remember we reported a week or so ago that Nintendo had seemingly revealed the release date for Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games as 8th November by means of a Wii U notification. For those of you who were getting excited, you’re about to be a little disappointed because it turns out that was just a mistake on the Big N’s part. Nintendo have provided the following clarification regarding the game’s release:

The Nov. 8 launch date for Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games that was recently listed in a Wii U notification was an error. A confirmed launch date will be announced in the future. We apologize for any confusion.

So, it looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer for our next sporting crossover – but at least we have Sonic Lost World to look forward to in the meantime! And you can be sure that, 8th November or not, Mario & Sonic 2014 will be hitting retail and digital stores before the year is over to cash in on the inevitable Christmas rush.

When do you think Mario & Sonic will be released? Anyone who predicts correctly gets bragging rights!

Sonic Lost World eShop File Sizes Revealed

slw_filesize_2

Thanks to Nintendo Life, the file sizes to the digital editions of Sonic Lost World have been revealed, and I’m warning you right away: this game’s been dreaming of pounding your sorry storage device. Those hoping to go digital for either the 3DS or Wii U versions, take note of the following!

Nintendo_eShop_logo

For 3DS owners, Sonic Lost World will be clocking in at around 1.25GB. To those curious, standard Nintendo 3DSes come with 2GB SD cards, and XLs already have 4GB ones loaded into the system, so if you’re hoping to go digital, now would be the time to invest in a bigger memory card.

Not that the Wii U version is any better, with the file size going for a massive 8.37GB. Owners of the Basic Edition might as well go for the retail disc or get an external hard drive, while those with the Deluxe Edition might not be better off what with a decent chunk of their console’s memory used up. Another downside, the Deadly Six Edition appears to be retail-only (thank you Parax for the heads-up!)!

What do you plan to go for? Are you picking up your game in the shops or waiting for the midnight digital release? Let us know down below!

GameTrailers have uploaded a walkthrough of Windy Hill Act 3. However, at the start of the video, theres the opening cut scene for Sonic Lost World. Having watched it myself, it’s a really nice little opening, quite action packed despite its short length and well worth a view… but… who is going to hold out until October?

Sonic Lost World Delayed to October 29th in North America

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TybPUcVVsXc

Above you, we have the North American version of the extended Deadly Six Trailer, showing off the Sonic Lost World antagonists in action… but there’s bad news bears for some.

While this doesn’t affect the October 18th release for eager European fans, SEGA of America has pushed the North American version of the game by another week, widening the gap between both regional releases. This purportedly makes it the last version of the game to be sold on retail, with Australia still getting their mits on Sonic’s Nintendo-exclusive adventure on the 19th Japan still receiving it on the 24th.

That clocks the North American street date of Sonic Lost World to October 29th instead of the previous October 22nd date. Just a quick heads-up before you head into Gamestop to pick up your Deadly Six Edition of the game!

Special thanks to Carbo of the SSMB for the tip.

Sonic Lost World: Deadly Six Extended Trailer

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4msH7yQl8Q

Sega have released another trailer for Sonic Lost World, this time, it’s not a stage or gameplay mode thats highlighted, it’s the Deadly Six themselves.

Now, this trailer contains every Deadly Six boss fight, so if you’re trying to come to it fresh, better avoid this one. For those who want to be spoilt, I think you’ll really enjoy this trailer, have to say it’s my favourite of the lot so far.

P.S. “Bad news is actually the one thing I enjoy” .. …. you have no idea how many jokes I want to make with this.

Sonic Lost World OST to be released in November

Sonic Lost World July screenshots 29

A listing on the videogames music website VGMdb has revealed that the soundtrack to the upcoming Sonic Lost World is set to be released on 27th November in Japan. The OST will have a physical release spanning 3 CD discs, similar to that of Planetary Pieces (Sonic Unleashed) and Vivid Colors x Hybrid Sounds (Sonic Colours) before it. The soundtrack will be published by Wave Master Entertainment and will cost 4200 Japanese yen, and can be pre-ordered right now through HMV JP.

As the time of writing, the soundtrack currently has no official title beyond “Sonic Lost World Original Soundtrack” and no track listing has yet been unveiled, though you can of course expect to find all of the game’s level music as well as the main orchestral theme on there.

Mario & Sonic 2014 Release Date Revealed?

M&S2014_Wii_U_Boxart

Sonic Lost World is only a month away now but it seems you can already look forward to getting your next Sonic fix after the hedgehog’s debut Wii U adventure. That’s right, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games (what do you mean you forgot it was coming out?!) has now seemingly has been given a release date as well, following hot on the heels of the much-anticipated main series installment.

The news appears to come from Nintendo themselves, as SSMB member CC14 the Franken Frog posted the below snapshot from their Wii U notifications, listing the game as launching on Friday 8th November. The message also indicates that you will be able to download the crossover title from the eShop on the same day, tying in with Nintendo’s current policy of simultaneously releasing new games in both physical and digital format.

mariosonic2014releaseeshop

Please bear in mind that, despite being a Friday – in other words, the usual day for releasing games in Europe – we can only assume this to be the US release date for the game so far, as no such listings have been found in European regions.

So, with a release date now seemingly set, will you be picking up Mario & Sonic 2014 for your Wii U? And if so – retail or download?

Tropical Coast Ashore at Sonic Lost World TGS 2013

Hear ye, hear ye! Freshly baked Sonic Lost World footage straight from the Tokyo Game Show! Watch it while it’s hot!

As we have reported last week,  Sonic’s upcoming Nintendo-exclusive venture was to receive a 45 minute presentation during SEGA’s TGS 2013 showcase earlier today. With viewers from all over gathering at the Nico Nico-based livestream, Sonic fans everywhere were ready for the extensive preview held by representatives of SEGA of Japan, including Lost World producer Takashi Iizuka and the game’s Sound Director, Tomoya Ohtani.

The showcase, to the dismay of some, comprised mostly of pre-existing information and video, but one juicy tidbit did satisfy many others, and that is previously unseen video footage of the Tropical Coast stage, featuring the Yellow Drill, a controllable mech, and more! Sea for yourself!

New Sonic Games & Major Surprises to come in 2014

sonic2014

Earlier this year, Sega were one of the companies in attendance at the Vegas Licensing Expo, whilst news did come from the event with regards to Lost World, something has slipped under the radar which has only come to light just now.

During the event, Global License produced a daily newspaper of sorts filled with news from each day, and on the second day, they had a very interesting segment on Sega and the Sonic license brand.

Fans will get a preview of the action with new videogames and merchandise slated to release at the end of this year. With more games and major surprises to follow in 2014.

Whats interesting is the use of language, notice how they say ‘video games’ as apposed to ‘a new videogame’ or ‘a new game.’ Could this be a hint that maybe Sonic will see a number of releases in 2014? As apposed to just Mario & Sochi,’ ‘The Third Game’ as fans have started to call the third nintendo exclusive might get a release in 2014? Maybe we’ll see another game with the blue one other than Sochi and the 3rd game.

Also, major suprises which are not game related? What could they be? Well… there was also advert for the Sonic brand included in the same publication.

sonic2014advert Aside from the new renders of the cast, I would direct your attention to the top. In previous adverts since last years licensing events. Sega have used the line “Sonic has appeared in over 60 videogames,” they have never put the annimations/cartoons so dominantly on an advert of this kind. Draw your own conclusions, it’s why we have the comment section.

We’ll keep you upto date with more news as and when we get it.

While owners of Android devices across the Sonic fandom have been busy celebrating the news that endless runner Sonic Dash will indeed be coming to their mobile platform of choice very soon, it seems SEGA have quietly released another little (and belated) surprise on the Google Play store. That’s right, the original Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing – released in 2010 on home consoles and a little while back for iOS devices – is now available to download for Android!

This madcap racer from Sumo Digital stars 13 characters from across SEGA’s history and allows you to compete in 25 missions and 4 grand prix cups. The game costs just £1.60 and you can purchase it from the Google Play store here.

My Trip to The Sonic Boom US West Chapter

Oil Ocean's 13
Oil Ocean’s 13

Like many of us, I was disappointed to hear that Sonic Boom was heading to St. Louis. I can totally understand though. Many Sonic fans back East miss out on these things. As a Southern California native, I’m lucky enough to go to events like E3, Comic Con and have an annual pass to Disneyland. So I was happy that people in the mid-US got a chance to enjoy some Sonic fandom, but still, many in other US regions feel left out. So now, Sonic meet ups are starting to spring up in a few states. The first of them is the Sonic Boom US West Chapter (to be called Sonic Revolution next year). Was it a homing attack hit or a Death-Egg disaster? Read on.

Sonic Lost World TGS Trailer Includes Amy, New Cutscenes

A brand new TGS 2013 trailer for Sonic Lost World has been released on the game’s Japanese website, and it features a whole cavalcade of new things to see. There’s what appears to be a gorgeous CG intro scene of Sonic and Tails chasing something in the Tornado on their way to Lost Hex, as well as our first (brief!) glimpse of Amy in an in-game cutscene. We also see interactions between the Deadly Six, and Eggman preparing to fire some sort of gun. For people hoping for a deeper and slightly darker story compared to Sonic Colours and Sonic Generations… it looks like you may be in luck!

There’s also plenty of new gameplay footage to see too, including a good look at all of the levels revealed so far – especially recently-revealed ones like Tropical Coast – and a more detailed demonstration of how the Wisps will work in both the Wii U and 3DS versions, showing how the GamePad in particular will bring new ways to control Sonic’s alien-powered abilities.

The Japanese site for Sonic Lost World also includes a few new pieces of art, included below. Thanks to SSMB member Woun for finding all of these new goodies!

With so much new stuff to see, that means there’s lots to discuss! Let us know what you think of the TGS trailer in the comments!

Winter Run – Join with perfect Bob the hedgehog in this endless running game

…I’m not kidding. That’s the actual title.

In a move that surprised absolutely nobody following the god awful monstrosity that was “Jiffy and the Super Hedgehogs” in YOLOLabs’ now nonexistent A Hedgehog Dash (feel free to check out Sonic Retro’s review on that particular Sonic knock-off), yet another faker has emerged on the iOS market – introducing perfect Bob the hedgehog!

But you need not hear me spill out the questionable contents of this completely original game! Here to provide commentary is our special guest from The Sonic Show, my good friend “Let’s Player of the North” Tanner!

Thank you Tanner, for your great and noble sacrifice. I will carve your face into a continent in remembrance.

Oh, and get this. There’s actually an in-app purchase in this title, “copyright” to Lambro Solutions. Just one.

New Sonic Lost World Trailer Shows Deadly Six Boss Battles

It’s been no secret since the very beginning of Lost World’s reveal that Sonic will be squaring off against the Deadly Six – a team of villainous Zeti comprising of Zavok, Zazz, Zomom, Zik, Zeena, and Zor – but up until now we’ve been left wondering… what will the actual fights with them be like?

Well, wonder no more, as you can get a brief glimpse at all of the Deadly Six encounters from the Wii U version in this new Japanese trailer for the game, uploaded by SEGA earlier today. Obviously, it contains spoilers abound for anyone wishing to keep things under wraps until release day!

In an interesting turn of events though, the trailer has since been removed from SEGA’s own account. Credit goes to SSMB user WittyUsername for providing the video used above.

New Mario & Sonic trailer shows us Snowboard Slopestyle

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxiMN0Pi0y4

You know, I can’t decide, is it because I have so little interest in this game, I almost didn’t think this was a new trailer? Or is it that most of the footage looks like it’s from previous trailers and clips? Well, it is a new trailer and it does show some new content, most noticably an event called Snowboard Slopestyle in which Mario and Sonic get on a snowboard and race down a mountain, why? Because they’re Mario & Sonic why would they not want to do this?

Mash-Up Monday: Generations of a Lost World – TENDERONI Cinema

And now, for something completely different, here’s a quirky yet pretty cool mash-up TailsChannel put together not too long ago!

When Sonic Generations was formally announced by SEGA through a trailer showcasing Sonics classic and modern in action, many were quick to discover that the track used in the anniversary title’s first preview was Kele’s TENDERONI.

With the trailer to Sonic Lost World gone online via a pre-E3 Nintendo Direct, it was soon pointed out that the tune accompanying the video was none other than Benny Banasi and Gary Go’s Cinema.

I don’t think I have to tell you much else about what we’re showing off for Mash-Up Monday!

Freak-Out Friday: ParadoxPowerPlays Syobon Action with ShadowRemix

This particular Freak-Out Friday was a long time coming.

Syobon Action, also known as Cat Mario or Neko Mario, is a notoriously difficult platformer which parodies the original Super Mario Bros from the NES era. It’s cheap in the worst possible manner, it plays dirty, it betrays every convention of the platforming genre…

…and it makes for awesome cases of schadenfreude. One brilliant example right from the community!

Cue the folks at ParadoxPowerPlays, who have decided to tackle this unholy monster! ShadowRemix (from SS:R’s radio affiliate SonicRadio) takes on the many abominations littered throughout the game, as CelestOrion, SSF1991, and Cosmic_Eternity poke fun at his every failure for Rage Night – Syobon Action!

Oxford and Flynn Team Up for Sonic Lost World First Play Charity Marathon

lostworldcharitypromo

David Oxford, writer for Nintendo Force magazine, and Ian Flynn, writer for Archie Comics’ Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Universe, and Mega Man series, are teaming up for a start-to-finish blind playthrough of SEGA’s upcoming Sonic Lost World to raise some money for charity!

Hosted by Nyteworks, the pair seek to raise $1000-1500 (but you know what they say: the more, the merrier!) over the course of 24 hours for the Sick Kids Foundation, the fundraising branch of the Toronto-based The Hospital for Sick Children. You can pester Flynn with various questions concerning the comics, participate in raffles to win prizes via known sponsors Nintendo Force and UDON Entertainment (publisher of The History of Sonic the Hedgehog), and even request games to be played should they finish their Lost Hex romp early!

HOWEVER! While the mission in itself is noble, they won’t be able to accomplish their goal without the proper equipment.

lostworldcharityequipmentfundraiser

The Sonic Lost World First Play Charity Marathon needs a bit of a boost of up to $750 for quality tools, so Oxford and Flynn are turning to crowdfunding via Indiegogo in order to make the charity event a reality. Perks of contributing include shout-outs and promotions of almost anything (so long as it is within reason), so for the charity and the equipment fundraiser of the charity…

Please think of the sick children.

That’s right, I’m guilt-tripping you. Is it working? Yes? Good!

Sonic Generations 3DS is now up for grabs on the digital market! North American 3DS owners can purchase the handheld edition of the 20th anniversary title for $29.99 via the Nintendo eShop, as announced via SEGA’s Twitter earlier today.

The Blue Adventure version features an entirely different set of stages and bosses, save for Green Hill and the Rival bosses, and an online multiplayer mode compared to its White Spacetime counterpart, so to those who’ve been on the fence on picking up Gen3DS should be pleased to know that they can now pick it up from the comfort of their living room!

If you plan on going digital with your games, make sure you’ve got a sizeable SD memory card!

11th SonicLondon Meet This Saturday!

sonlonIt’s that time of year again for folks in the London area!

This Saturday, our friends at SonicLondon will be hosting the group’s 11th meet-up in order to have a grand old time ’round all things gotta, go, and fast. If you’re in town and want to join in on the fun (provided you’re of age), you can RSVP now on the event’s Facebook page if you haven’t done so already!

With partly cloudy skies expected, two plans of action have been prepared. If you’re going, read and revise ’em both, and start packing the essentials!

Plan A :

The group will meet outside the Cow and Coffee Bean coffee shop in the middle of Regent’s Park between 1:30 – 2. From there we will travel to a picnic spot nearby (which we will decide as a group on the day), where we will sit and chill out.

There will be a number of activities through-out the course of the day, such as the return of Sonic Black-jack and more to be confirmed.

Please bring along :

– picnic snacks and blankets
– your artwork (to sketch/show off)
– money (as we’ll probably go for food and drinks afterwards
– suncream/sunhats if your skin is senstive to the sun

Plan B (in case of rain) :

The group will meet in the Royal Festival Hall foyer area just past the Festival Terrace entrance between 1:30 – 2. Unlike previous meet-ups where we’ve left the Royal Festival Hall and headed straight to Namco, I thought it would be nice if we stuck around the RFH for a while this time… We’ll head to the upper floors and check out the breath-taking views. Expect any and all activities planned for Plan A to also take place here.

Here’s the Royal Festival Hall website :
http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/venues/royal-festival-hall

What to bring :
~ 3DS/Vita/iPhones/tablets etc
~ Sketchbooks etc
~ Cameras (we all love looking at pics!)
~ Money (again ; for afterwards).

Hope to see you all there!

Sonic Returns To Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

soncmacys

Even if you don’t live in Amercia, chances are you’ve heard of Macy’s Thanksgiving parade. Each year the department store Macy’s holds a huge parade through New York featuring a variety of giant floats and balloons of famous characters and heroes from the world of comic books, television and videogames.

Well… guess whose making a return? According to cititour.com, a website to promote events in New York, Sonic will be taking part in this years Macy’s thanksgiving parade, marking three years in a row where Sonic has been in attendance.

However, when asked about this on twitter, Sega said that they didn’t have any news regarding Sonic being in this years Macy’s.

Mash-Up Monday: Toot Toot Green Hills Warrior

Hey, TSSers! Long time no see!

To those who’ve been asking what happened to the mash-ups, well, my health plummeted, I got bedridden, this, that, a little bit o’this. Didn’t have a ton of energy to even write, but hey, kicked pneumonia square in the rear since then! It’s good to be back!

So, it’s Labour Day today! Cozy? Good. Relaxed? Great! Well rested? Awesome! Bored? Outstan–wait, wait, not outstanding! We can’t have that, not at a time like this! With that diagnosis, there is only one known cure… The return of Mash-Up Mondays, of course! And what better way to celebrate than to highlight a game with some of the cheesiest theme songs ever, like Sonic CD?

Now, it’s no mystery that You Can Do Anything, the Japanese main theme to the time-travelling SEGA CD escapades of the Blue Blur, and Green Hills of Sonic 2 8-bit fame share the same melody. This shouldn’t come across as much of a surprise, seeing that both tracks share the one and only Masafumi Ogata as the composer. Many have wondered of a possible combination of the two songs, and many others have attempted at mixing the two together, but there is one arrangement that I feel stands above the others!

Put together by Hyper-Shan of the SSMB, this particular mash-up not only combines the two aforementioned tracks, as it incorporates the similar sounding Mecha Green Hill from Sonic Chaos as well into a 5 minute masterpiece! So plug in those headphones and enjoy what many consider to be the definitive version of You Can Do Anything! Sing along, now!
