Zazz Joins The Brawl… er… Dash!

In a surprising new update to coincide with the release of Sonic Lost World, you can now fight Zazz from the Deadly Six in a brand new boss battle in the mobile-exclusive Sonic Dash.

As can be seen in the trailer above, you’ll be facing off with the crazed Zeti atop his Moon Mech, dodging his star attacks until you get the chance to show him who’s boss and homing attack him into oblivion. It appears you’ll encounter Zazz at random as opposed to a set place in any of the stages.

The new update also includes a Deadly Six Card Collection Challenge where players from all around the world have to collect a set number of cards that can be found throughout the stages – once a certain total is reached, participants will receive some Lost World themed prizes!

You can download the Sonic Dash update now for a limited time only on the iOS. There is still no news on the game arriving on Android devices, though you can be sure we’ll let you know as soon as anything is announced.

What do you think about Zazz making an appearance in Sonic Dash? Would you like to see some of the other Deadly Six show up at a later date too? Let us know in the comments!

Sonic Lost World OST Title and Art Revealed

lostworldostwithoutboundariesAs we reported last month, the official soundtrack to Sonic Lost World is set to be released in Japan on 27th November. Well today, thanks to some information from 4Gamer.net we can reveal both the title – “Without Boundaries” – and the cover art of the OST… which as you can see above, is absolutely covered in artwork of the Deadly Six. I guess the designers took the ‘without boundaries’ concept quite literally with regards to their copy and paste tools!

Without Boundaries will contain 93 songs from Sonic Lost World across 3 CD discs, performed by over 70 musicians and produced by Otani Tomoya who previously worked on the soundtracks to Sonic The Hedgehog (2006), Sonic Unleashed, and Sonic Colours. Tracks you can expect to find on the album include the main theme “Wonder World”, the full version of “Windy Hill Zone 1”, and “The Deadly Six Theme”. The OST will feature a range of musical genres, from tango to synth pop to big band jazz.

Are you planning to get Without Boundaries? And even if not, what do you make of the Sonic Lost World soundtrack so far? Let us know in the comments!

[UPDATED!] Get even more DLC for your Deadly Six Edition!

shoptodlclostworldSonic Lost World is the game that just keeps on giving! On top of what looks to be a title already packed with content, we also have the Deadly Six Edition for Wii U containing DLC inspired by NiGHTS into Dreams… and now, thanks to UK retailer ShopTo, it looks like we have even more extra goodies to look forward to as well!

ShopTo recently made the below announcement on their Facebook page:

Sonic Lost World Deadly Six Edition on WiiU now comes with another 2 DLC codes!

The first one includes 5 Black Bombs Colour Powers to devastate your enemies five times over. The second includes a Rare Omochao RC Gadget, a chao-tastic way to help out Sonic. This title already comes with the NiGHTMARE DLC pack, which contains an extra level with enemies inspired by the Sega Saturn classic NiGHTS into Dreams, meaning you’ll get 3 DLC codes in total!

So, on top of NiGHTS-themed boss battles, we also have a golden Omochao RC and five uses of the Black Bomb Wisp to download on release day. You can pre-order Sonic Lost World: Deadly Six Edition at ShopTo for £32.86 by clicking here.

Thanks to SSMB member Phil Collins for pointing this out!

UPDATE: US retailer GameStop are also offering a similar bonus DLC offer, however there is no mention of the Black Bomb Wisp and it advertises an Omochao inspired by Sonic himself rather than the golden one ShopTo are giving away. Looks like there’s some region-exclusive DLC being distributed! Thanks to SSMB member Sonic CD for the heads up!

UPDATE #2: Hot off the press… there’s yet another pre-order bonus if you get the game from a different retailer, in this case Amazon.com! This one’s a little less exciting though – 25 extra lives. Still, a free bonus is a bonus, and you never know when some 1-ups might come in handy!

Sonic Lost World TGS Trailer Includes Amy, New Cutscenes

A brand new TGS 2013 trailer for Sonic Lost World has been released on the game’s Japanese website, and it features a whole cavalcade of new things to see. There’s what appears to be a gorgeous CG intro scene of Sonic and Tails chasing something in the Tornado on their way to Lost Hex, as well as our first (brief!) glimpse of Amy in an in-game cutscene. We also see interactions between the Deadly Six, and Eggman preparing to fire some sort of gun. For people hoping for a deeper and slightly darker story compared to Sonic Colours and Sonic Generations… it looks like you may be in luck!

There’s also plenty of new gameplay footage to see too, including a good look at all of the levels revealed so far – especially recently-revealed ones like Tropical Coast – and a more detailed demonstration of how the Wisps will work in both the Wii U and 3DS versions, showing how the GamePad in particular will bring new ways to control Sonic’s alien-powered abilities.

The Japanese site for Sonic Lost World also includes a few new pieces of art, included below. Thanks to SSMB member Woun for finding all of these new goodies!

With so much new stuff to see, that means there’s lots to discuss! Let us know what you think of the TGS trailer in the comments!

New Sonic Lost World Trailer Shows Deadly Six Boss Battles

It’s been no secret since the very beginning of Lost World’s reveal that Sonic will be squaring off against the Deadly Six – a team of villainous Zeti comprising of Zavok, Zazz, Zomom, Zik, Zeena, and Zor – but up until now we’ve been left wondering… what will the actual fights with them be like?

Well, wonder no more, as you can get a brief glimpse at all of the Deadly Six encounters from the Wii U version in this new Japanese trailer for the game, uploaded by SEGA earlier today. Obviously, it contains spoilers abound for anyone wishing to keep things under wraps until release day!

In an interesting turn of events though, the trailer has since been removed from SEGA’s own account. Credit goes to SSMB user WittyUsername for providing the video used above.

Sonic Lost World: First Cut Scene Now Online

Earlier today, the Western Nintendo Direct broadcast showed a small segment of what appeared to be a cut scene from Sonic Lost World. Well not to be outdone, the Japanese Nintendo YouTube Channel has posted the cutscene in full.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTu3nMtWePA

The segment shows the Deadly Six turning against Eggman and using his own badniks against both Eggman, Sonic & Tails. The sequence shows Tails being rescued by Sonic and some comedic moments with Orbot and Cubot.

Oh… according to Tomoki on SSMB. A rough translation of the Deadly Six’s dialogue is as follows.

Zavok: Fire!

Zavok: Kill the fat man! Show him what we’re really capable of!

Cubot: These guys mean business!

Sonic: These guys are tougher than I thought… Gonna need to think of a strategy to take them out before they do some serious damage.

Tails: I know you can do it, Sonic…

Eggman: Retreat! We have to retreat! Let’s get out of here before they get us!
