LEGO and Sonic the Hedgehog. Now there’s two things we never thought we’d see officially put together in the same product. Sure, maybe it’s not as earth-shattering a crossover as the Mario & Sonic series (I mean, who’d have ever seen that one coming, and at the Olympic Games no less?!), but it’s just as mind-bogglingly unthinkable. But, then again, almost anything is possible in the crazy world of TT Games’ LEGO Dimensions. You know what’s even crazier though? This bonkers mash-up of blue blurs and bricks is arguably the best thing to come out of Sonic’s 25th anniversary celebrations this year.

News concerning all things fast and blue over the past few weeks has started to pick up quite a bit, and since a lot has transpired following the release of Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, I think it’s fair to say that a quick recap of recent events is in order!

Just posted by the LEGO Dimensions Twitter account. It looks like we won’t just be seeing Sonic and Eggman in the new LEGO Dimensions pack, but also Shadow, Tails, Big, and Knuckles.
No gameplay footage was given, but fans will be overjoyed at Big the Cat in Lego form.
The Sonic Level pack is released on November 18th.

ORIGINAL STORY: One of the things I love about Lego Dimensions is that they constantly merge the franchises they have license to as much as possible. If you haven’t seen the new Ghostbusters movie, there’s an action sequence where they have to take down some giant, haunted parade balloons. In the game, two of the balloons have been replaced with the Ice King from Adventure Time and Dr. Eggman. Watch the Ghostbusters take down the balloon Dr. Eggman with the help of a balloon Sonic in the video above!

IGN have posted another video about Lego Dimensions which contains a big focus on the Sonic stages. In this video we learn a bunch of new details about the Sonic level pack.

The video shows how Gizmo and Harry Potter will navigate the level as well as a brief appearance by Sonic.
In other news, the level pack itself has appeared on multiple retailer sites including Amazon & Toys R US all stating that the pack will be released on November 18th. Current price point is £29.99.

Traveller’s Tales have released a number of new screenshots involving Sonic in Lego Dimensions, it seems they were not kidding when they said that Sonic can go anywhere and interact with anyone.

In addition a level pack was confirmed, it contains two vehicles, the Tornado and the Speedstar from the ASR series.
Sonic can visit the Tardis, hang out with the Goonies, go to Gotham City and pilot a mech robot!

Mark Warburton, who happens to be a producer at Travellers Tales on Lego Dimensions has made a series of tweets with regards to Sonic which both casts light onto what Sonic can actually do in the game as well as teases a possible trailer or reveal for Sonic in Lego Dimensions too.
Spending the day running through the @LEGODimensions Dr. Who level as Sonic so that I can spin attack Daleks…its a tough ole job i have.
The first tweet specifically mentions that in the Doctor Who stages, Sonic will spin attack Daleks, if you don’t know what a Dalek is, it’s basically a badnik with a mutant alien inside… who wants to destroy you.
Then in a response to another twitter user who asked about the possibility of a teaser for Sonic’s 25th, Warburton didn’t exactly say it wouldn’t happen.
So there we go, Sonic attacking Daleks and a possible teaser coming tomorrow. Now if you’ll excuse me I’ll be sat over here deciding which of these Sonic Screwdriver related puns will go into tomorrows article if the above happens.

As a veteran of six (as of this year) E3s, I have begun to enter the show with a certain amount of confidence. “I’ve done this all before” I tell myself, “I’ve got this.” Every single year, this show finds some way to prove my confidence premature. Although we uploaded our last episode very recently, it’s actually been almost 6 months since our last podcast. But now that we’re back on our feet, you can expect more of Sonic Talk in the upcoming months.
In this episode, Jason and GX go on a lengthy discussion on “Toys to Life” games including Disney Infinity 3.0, Skylanders Superchargers and Lego Dimensions while Alex gives us his two cents on the Metal Gear Solid series. We then discuss the recent delay of Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice and why we feel it may have been delayed. We’ll also go into GE Entertainments new line of Sonic plushies, a certain hedgehog soon to show up the Sonic Boom cartoon and why the cancellation of the Sonic Boom comic and Super Special magazine could be good for the Sonic digests.
