Jakks Pacific, the prolific manufacturers of various Sonic toys, will have a panel at this years San Diego Comic Con. The panel will take place July 21 at 9PM EST. The panel will be livestreamed on their Instagram at /jakkspacific.toys, though we will also have someone on the ground to provide coverage!
New reveals can be expected this panel, though chances are at least some of them will be ones that have already been leaked, such as their upcoming Blaze figure. Nevertheless, we should at least get time frames for upcoming waves!

The first image of Jakks Pacific’s upcoming Blaze the Cat figure, which had its listing leaked earlier this year, has been…leaked. In addition to Blaze, photos the entirety of the fourteenth wave of Jakks Pacific 4” figures, which she is a part of, has also been leaked. Interestingly, we have brand new figures of Modern Knuckles and a new variant of modern Sonic. The final figure, Shadow, is a simple re-release.
This leak comes courtesy of Sonic Merch News, whom posted the images to their Twitter earlier today. Check out the toys in the gallery below.
It is currently unknown when these toys will release, though since we now have images, they are probably coming later this year.

SEGA and Jakks Pacific have announced a new licensing deal that will see the launch of a series of Sonic Prime toys to coincide with the continuation of the Netflix animation series. Among these is a new 13″ Sonic the Hedgehog plush toy and the first wave of Prime-themed 5″ articulated figures.
The Sonic the Hedgehog 13″ plush toy is posable, and “made from super soft fabrics and stuffing” (as per the press release we received for these products). Looks like you could give him a huge cuddle for days, to be fair. It will be on sale for $19.99.

Meanwhile, the first set of 5″ action figures will offer over 12 points of articulation, so you can really go for it and recreate some creative scenes from the TV show (or from your own imagination). Wave 1 of the figures includes Sonic, Tails Nine, Thorn Rose and Mr. Dr. Eggman, and will be available individually for $14.99 each.
All of these products will be available in physical stores and online retailers in “North America, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Europe, Middle East and Africa” (so practically everywhere, then) in July. Just in time to start playing along with the new episodes when they air on Netflix.
Which ones are you getting?

Details on Jakks Pacific’s upcoming line of Sonic Prime toys have been leaked by Entertainment Earth, a toy wholesaler that specializes in selling toys to stores. They posted a listing, which was quickly removed, detailing the nature of the upcoming toy line.
The Sonic Prime action figures will be five inches tall, and the first wave will consist of the following characters:
Sonic
Dr. Eggman
Thorn
Nine
While Earth Entertainment was quick to remove the listing, they weren’t quick enough. The Twitter account Sonic Merch News spotted the listing and tweeted it out.
These aren’t the first Sonic Prime toys to be revealed. PMI announced their own line back in January, and Turkish toy company Dede has pasted the show’s branding on various toddler toys.

Blaze the Cat is finally coming to Jakks Pacific’s line of Sonic toys in August. Entertainment Earth recently posted a listing for Jakks Pacific’s 14th wave of their 4” figures, with Blaze the Cat among the line-up. According to the listing, she will come with a sol emerald of unknown color.
Aside from her, the rest of the wave will be reprintings of previous figures, including Modern Sonic, Shadow and Knuckles. The EE listing is meant for stores, not regular consumers, hence the high price. Notably, these figures are being sold to stores in cases of 6, with each case containing only one Blaze. So she may be a bit hard to find.

The next wave of the fantastic JAKKS Pacific Sonic the Hedgehog figure line have already been spotted in the wild!
The 10cm series sees both Super Silver and Jet the Hawk join the lineup, with their first JAKKS incarnations appearing alongside another classic Sonic, and a Modern Tails with the Miles Electric pad.
The wave 12 mini series is also set to continue adding Badniks to the range, including Newton.

The Classic Sonic toy series expands this Autumn with this new Egg Mobile Battle Set announced by Jakks Pacific. Available now, the mini-playset comes with 2.5″ Sonic and Eggman figures, along with a large Egg Mobile that can be customised to recreate a number of classic 16-bit Sonic the Hedgehog game boss battles.

Our friends over at Sonic Merch News have spotted two new action figures being added to the JAKKS Pacific Sonic line up, with a decidedly Sonic Adventure theme!
BREAKING: First look at Big The Cat & Chaos 0 from Wave 11 of the Sonic The Hedgehog JAKKS Pacific 4” line.
The listings were spotted on the Smyths Toys website in the UK, with a release date (at least in this country) of March 2023; US stores will likely see these figures stocked even earlier.
Since the launch of the game in 1998, this will be the first time Chaos Version 0 has seen an action figure incarnation. The figure also appears to be transluscent, to emulate the liquid composition of the character.

The next wave of Jakks Pacific’s 4” figures come out next month, and we’ve finally got some images!
This wave has some of Sonic’s less popular friends. Amongst the modern characters, we’ve got Amy Rose and Vector the Crocodile, and for the classic characters we have yet another Classic Sonic, and…Ray the Flying Squirrel!
Merch for both Vector and Ray tend to be quite rare. I’m fairly certain this is the first time Ray has ever gotten an action figure, while this is only Vector’s second action figure ever.

Site writer Shigs live tweeted the Jakks Pacific panel at San Diego Comic-Con this year, and while there isn’t a whole lot we haven’t seen through retailer leaks and prior reveals, consider this a round up of what they’ll be offering this year, and where they might be exclusive to.
These Funko Pop masks won’t hit Walmart until November, but I think we can agree that they’re truly frightening at any time of the year. They’re listed as “half mask,” so expect business in the front, and absolutely no party in the back.
This Fall will feature several new “Deluxe” costumes for Sonic 2’s Knuckles, Tails, and Dr. Robotnik, and hey, even Baby Sonic! Your entire face is their muzzle for the true 4-eye effect! Dual-tails have been attached to the full back of the costume to prevent accidental flight.
The Egg Mobile battle set was previously revealed during the most recent Sonic Central presentation. The set includes accessories to transform into a variety of boss vehicles from Sonic 1 and 2, from the classic ball-and-chain from Green Hill, to the double-drill machine from Mystic Cave.
Exclusive to Target will be this Flying Battery Zone playset, featuring spinning propellers, rotating flames, a sprite art Technosqueek, and two, TWO spike traps! Can you push those spikes for secrets? Who’s to say! Expect the set this Fall.
Jakks did highlight a few items that are currently available, such as their 6″ solar-powered Sonic figure with tapping toe and moving eyelids. But at least we get to enjoy a big MS Word explosion star shape with tiny lettering. And that’s worth something, right?
They also showed off their Modern Sonic Collectors Edition figure with a Tropical Resort base (6″ tall, to go alongside their Classic Sonic Collectors Edition figure on a Studiopolis base). Like his classic counterpart, Modern Sonic comes with a number of facial expressions, hands, and a Cyan Wisp buddy to complete the scene. The figure is currently… available, but is also out of stock at most online retailers.
Finally, Jakks wrapped up with their small figure sets. The next wave of 2.5″ figures includes modern Tails and Shadow, and classic Sonic, Knuckles, and Eggman. At 4″ are an additional wave of Sonic 2 movie figures of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Super Sonic with accessories, and a Walmart exclusive Skateboard Sonic with additional articulation and thick black lines to imitate a hand drawn style.
We’ll continue to cover any major SDCC news through the convention, but be sure to follow us on Twitter for immediate updates! And of course big thanks to Shigs for his live reporting from the convention.

This upcoming holiday season just got a bit merrier thanks to Jakks Pacific. A Christmas collection of the 2-inch Sonic figure line will be arriving in an advent calendar later this year. For those not familiar with what an advent calendar is, it’s usually a large box with tiny gifts inside that you open one per day all December long up until Christmas eve. However, if you’re like me, you’re going to buy the whole box yourself and open them all at once for a nice Christmas display.
The set includes Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Mighty, Ray, and many more including accessories. Some will be in festive outfits and some, like Ray, will make their first appearance in the 2-inch line. The MSRP is currently unknown.

UPDATE: The box art had a rather significant spoiler I missed. Also, Sonic Jenny said Jakks Pacific asked her to remove the images. Given those two things, we’re just going to go ahead and remove the images pre-emptively. We’re currently leaving details regarding what the playset is about, however.
Original Story:
The Sonic 2 movie is now just a month away, and more merchandise has just gotten leaked. Today? A playset centered around the Giant Eggman Robot we first saw in a trailer.
We put up a spoiler warning because the playset potentially hints at something regarding where Sonic will be fighting the robot.
This playset is likely a part of the Jakks Pacific wave 2 that was revealed a few days ago.
These images were posted on Twitter by @SonicJenny, who said it was shared on her Discord server.

Jakks Pacific’s latest waves of Sonic toys have been revealed, and they include some rarely and never-before-seen faces!
In their upcoming 9th wave of Sonic 4 inch figures, Egg Robo makes its action figure debut. It also includes Espio, who hasn’t had a figure since that one Jazzware figure years ago. The wave also includes Modern Sonic with a star spring, and Modern Tails with an invincibility box.
Perhaps the most notable new addition is the Ray the Flying Squirrel plush, which will be a part of their 7th wave of plushes. In the character’s almost 30 years of existence, this will be his very first official plush. Jade Wisp also makes their plush debut as a part of this wave, which also includes reissues of Mighty (who debuted last year) and Modern Sonic.
An 8th wave of 2.5 inch figures was also revealed, which includes Classic Sonic, Classic Knuckles, Classic Eggman, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Modern Tails.
Finally, a second wave of 4 inch Sonic movie figures has also been revealed, though no details have been confirmed.

Amongst a host of new figures from the toy retailer JAKKS Pacific comes what all automata-aficionados have been waiting for – an action of the ultimate E-series robot, E-123 Omega!
Other than a figurine contained in the Sonic Battle Racers board game, this is the first action figure fans have seen of this much-loved merciless mecha; images of the (sizable) figure can be seen below:
According to the website, the figures are expected to be available in the UK around March 2022, however this might be earlier for those in the US.

As online entertainment has taken over my diet, it’s rare to really encounter the style of toy commercials I used to ingest in my youth, but JAKKS Pacific haven’t given up the style even if the medium has shifted.

In a recent interview with toy enthusiast website Toy Hype USA, Jakks Pacific SVP of Marketing Craig Drobis confirmed that the company’s first articulated Sonic figures will arrive in the fall. The line will launch with four figures, including Sonic, Eggman, Tails and Shadow, each of which also come with an accessory from the games. In addition to these figures, Drobis also revealed that a yet-to-be-shown articulated Metal Sonic figure will be released before the end fo the year.
When asked about whether or not Sonic Heroes’ Neo Metal Sonic was in the cards, Drobis would only say that they hadn’t gotten to the character yet, because there focus has been on “classic and modern Sonic characters,” likely meaning any Sonic characters from the mid-2000s that are no longer relevant are currently out of luck.
These figures were first shown at the New York Toy Fair back in February, alongside a variety of other Sonic merchandise. The interview featured the first clear images of these figures, which you can check out below.
