Iizuka: No Online Play in Wii U Version of Lost World

soniclostworld3ds

In a recent interview with Nintendo World Report, Takashi Iizuka confirmed that while the 3DS version of Lost World will have a four player online versus mode, the Wii U version will allow for local multiplayer only:

NWR: The demos on the floor are all single player. Can you discuss the co-op and versus multiplayer?
TI: We’ll have different multiplayer modes on both Wii U and 3DS. On the Wii U, there’s booth cooperative and versus multiplayer. In cooperative play, Sonic will be using the Wii U GamePad and someone can be supporting Sonic in co-op with the Wii Remote. In versus mode, one player will be playing on the TV screen and the other player will be racing using the GamePad so you don’t have to have split screen. You both have your own screen and can race each other. The Wii U multiplayer is not on the Internet. It’s basically everyone sitting on the same couch. The 3DS for the first time we’re having 4-player versus racing over Wi-Fi and the Internet.

This is nothing new for Sonic. Every one of his Dimps made portable entries have had an online racing mode since Sonic Rush Adventure, while Sonic 4 Episode 2 has so far marked the only time Sonic has had online multiplayer in a console game.

You can find Iizuka’s complete interview with Nintendo World Report here. I would highly recommend taking a look, as it has some interesting bits of info.

Let’s party on Sonic’s 22nd Anniversary!

Is it really that time of the year again?

Indeed, the blue blur we all love continues spin dashing on and celebrates his 22nd birthday today!

Isn’t Sonic getting a bit old for birthday parties now though?

Summer of Sonic: Dreadknux Has Passed the Final Zone

svendsos

After five amazing years of creating and organising the world’s best-loved Sonic the Hedgehog fan convention, I have decided to retire my position from The Summer of Sonic team. Effective immediately, I will have no involvement in the organisation of 2013’s event.

I have passed my duties and responsibilities in developing the convention to Adam Tuff (T-Bird) and Rory Joscelyne (Roareye). Having been key members of the Summer of Sonic team since its very first year, I have no doubt that they will continue to realise our vision for the show, and put on an amazing day’s worth of fun for Sonic the Hedgehog fans all over the world.

The Summer of Sonic convention is an event that will forever remain incredibly dear to me. I would like to thank everybody who’s ever been involved with the show’s development – volunteers, special guests, our collaborative partner SEGA and of course the fans that have attended and helped transform it into the international success it is today.

I will be cheering the Summer of Sonic organisation team on from the sidelines as I prepare to embark on a new adventure. Thanks again everyone – it’s been a fantastic ride!

“Not Enough Rings” Webcomic Holding Kickstarter for Physical Comic Release

We know video game webcomics are a dime a dozen. Especially Sonic ones! But in all our years on the internet, we never came across the comic we wanted. No sprite recolors, no tribal Echidna warriors, definitely no werehogs — just a real comic retelling of the remarkable games we grew up playing.
~Veronica Vera

And the Not Enough Rings webcomic (which you can read at your own leisure), spoofing the Genesis saga from Green Hill all the way up to the Doomsday Zone, is nothing short of the latter.

notenoughrings_s2special

Veronica Vera and Oliver Bareham, the duo behind the affectionate Sonic the Hedgehog parody webcomic, are hoping to bring their work into print form, with a Kickstarter page gone live since yesterday. Going for a minimum goal of $6,500, the Not Enough Rings Kickstarter has already reached $5,300, and is open for donations up until July 19th!

Supporters can nab themselves a copy of the 106-page comic for as little as $25, but shipping will cost extra for those outside of the United States. Extra rewards include a signed copy of the book, a TIME OVER t-shirt featuring the Carnival Night barrel, a framed strip from the comic of your choice, advance copies of the Upstage card game for Bittersweet Candy Bowl (the duo’s main project), and if you’re downright insane, a Not Enough Rings-esque strip of any stage of any Sonic game of your choosing!

The only stretch goal to this project is to cover the funds to upgrade the books themselves into hardcover copies, the goal itself being a now realistic $10,500. Perks of supporting this project also include reading the already completed webcomic before it’s been fully uploaded online, as well as strips dedicated to the Sonic 3 Competition stages – BOOK EXCLUSIVE. Now THAT is a good deal.

That being said, head on over to the Kickstarter page and help this labour of love come to fruition!

Freak-Out Friday: Sonic Lost World’s Parkour Engine

You know what I’m looking forward to the most in Sonic Lost World ? …well, besides the fact that Sonic and Eggman are teaming up?

The parkour-inspired gameplay! Going nuts over massive stages however you please! Running along walls, climbing up to new routes, that sorta thing! Just thinking of the endless possibilities forgive me in clearing a single level gets my mouth watering~!

So, how do you define parkour anyway…?

par·kour [pahr-koor, -kawr, -kohr]
noun
Internet sensation of 2004; art of moving from point A to point B as creatively as possible.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prJdHUs6Qn8

So, technically, Sonic is doing parkour… as long as point A is delusion, and point B is the hospital.

Fly Solo in Tails Adventure: Now on Nintendo 3DS eShop!

tailsadventure1

Today truly does mark the day of the second fiddle for Nintendo gamers – not only has Mario’s lankier brother jumped into the spotlight with the release of New Super Luigi U on Wii U, but now Sonic’s twin-tailed sidekick has seen a re-release of one of his solo Game Gear outings on Nintendo 3DS. That’s right, folks… Tails Adventure is back!

Tails Adventure was the second Tails game to hit the SEGA Game Gear handheld back in the day and sees Miles Prower traversing an island (referred to as “Cocoa Island” in Japan and “Tails Island” in the West) in order to stop an army of robotic birds known as the Battle Kukku Army. It’s a slower, more RPG-like experience with lots of item collecting and backtracking, so don’t go into this one expecting a high speed Sonic platformer! Using his flying ability and weapons like hammers, remote-controlled robots, and bombs (and we mean lots of bombs!), Tails has to make his way through several puzzles to save the day.

The game is now available to download from the Nintendo 3DS eShop in Europe for £4.49.

Will you be downloading Tails Adventure? Do you have any fond memories of playing it on the Game Gear? Let us know in the comments!

Sonic After the Sequel OST Now Available

sonic_ats_cover

Following the release of the game a few days prior, the famed fan-made original soundtrack to LakeFeperd’s Sonic After the Sequel is now available to the open public!

Featuring the combined works of artists Falk, Funk Fiction, James Landino (KgZ), and Andy Tunstall (Ristar/Tunners) of Before the Sequel 2012, along with newcomers Mr Lange, DJ Max-E, and Li Xiao’an, the incredible seven-man album clocks in at a total of 76 tracks! Be warned though, this 3 and a half hour beast of sound does go for about 420MB.

To those who’ve played the fan game and/or stalked the artists on Soundcloud, what are your favourite tunes from the OST? Landino’s blood-pumping Breakfast Time for Horizon Heights’ boss? Falk’s jazztacular Tea With Ellie for Cyan City? Lange’s tropical Turquoise Paradise of Foliage Furnace with nods to the Sonic OVA? Funk Fiction’s club-worthy Rocks Like This for Technology Tree? Tunstall’s spine-chilling Ghosts With Guitars for Moon Mansion? DJ Max-E’s frosty Neon Paradise for Parhelion Peak (…wait, that one sounds familiar…)? Or even Li’s harrowing Eye of the Storm for the final showdown? The Special Stage themes with remixes to Sonic Drift 2, or even Sonic R? Cutscene music? Share your thoughts down below!

In any case, you can either download the complete OST from the game’s website, or listen to it all on the music’s official YouTube channel. This is definitely a soundtrack worth looking into!

LakeFeperd Releases Sonic After the Sequel

ATS1

Need to vent the urge to play a new Sonic game, and yet can’t wait for Sonic Lost World? Here’s the perfect fan game to help ease that nagging feeling!

ATS4After one year and six months since its announcement, LakeFeperd has finally released the highly anticipated fan game, Sonic After the Sequel!

A follow-up to his previous efforts, Before the Sequel (linking Sonic 1 and Sonic 2) and the “Metronic” BtS: Aftermath, the project is meant to tie together the events of Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, filling the gap between the first fall of the Death Egg and the discovery of a downed Angel Island.

As Eggman tries to salvage his heavily damaged Death Egg after his last showdown with the Blue Blur, Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles “Tails” Prower continue to chase the evil and determined Doctor Robotnik, and begin their journey in the Horizon Heights Zone. With the duo hot on his trail, Eggman’s sights are set upon a floating island, far off in the distance…

ATS3

Sonic After the Sequel holds a grand total of 10 Zones for you to explore, with the narrative leading Sonic and Tails through locales such as the sunny then rainy greenery of Horizon Heights, the sweet tooth incarnate Sugar Splash, the crowded and bustling Cyan City, the haunted and ghost-riddled Moon Mansion, the frozen tundra of Parhelion Peak, and the Storm Station high above the heavens.

Each Zone is broken down into 3 different Acts, followed by the Boss Act. By finding Star Rings scattered throughout the stages, you can also reach a hidden Special Act! Be warned though, these special Rings are pretty well hidden, and might require numerous playthroughs in order to locate them.

ATS5On the gameplay front, Sonic and Tails play no different than their 2D incarnations of the 90s. Sonic retains his ability to Strike Dash/Peel-Out by holding up and tapping the jump button repeatedly, Tails still flies, and the two Spin Dash.

However, there are a few twists to how you play as well. The Flame Shield returns in all its blazing glory; the Bubble Shield lets you both breathe underwater and double-jump, and there’s a shield that not only protects you from spike damage, but allows Sonic to drop straight down and retain his speed. If Kirby’s no stranger to you, then there are a couple of quirky yet amusing forms for you to toy with in Cyan City: Beam Sonic and Mirror Tails!

ATS9

The game is split down between two modes; one is easy, the other harder but more rewarding. The easiest of the two is Story Mode, where you simply clear the complete game by going from Zone to Zone.

For the daring, Classic Mode plays much like the Genesis games. You’ll have to gather a certain amount of rings in order for a Warp Ring to spawn at the end of an Act, which then leads you to a Special Stage where you to chase after a Chaos Emerald. Collect all 7 and you unlock Super Sonic and the Good Ending! Each Special Stage bears a remixed tune, with variations of Sonic 2’s Special Stage, Radical Train’s The Chase of Sonic 2006, Hill Top Course from Sonic Drift 2… and the seventh one, well, you’ll have to reach it yourself to find out!

ATS7

While LakeFeperd looked after the game’s development, the effort put into organizing the soundtrack was split between seven people! Returning from BtS’12 are Falk, Andy (Ristar/Tunners), Funk Fiction, and KgZ, with Mr Lange, DJ Max-E, and Xiao’an Li joining the fray.

I’m not gonna sugarcoat it: the game’s OST is beyond all levels of freaking amazing as each artist did an overall fantastic job at scoring After the Sequel. Keen eyed players will notice a nod towards the composers at the start of each Act, indicating which artists contributed the music for a particular stage. While the OST did hold back the game’s release significantly, it was SO worth the wait, believe you me!

The Sonic After the Sequel OST, however, is to be released separately, but it should be out by the week’s end. In that case, let’s see if we can get something like this going on again…
EDIT 19/06/2013: The soundtrack is out!

So, Lake, now that you can prepare Sonic Chrono Adventure for SAGE’13, what do you have to say about ATS now that it’s released?

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TesdgOUB5f4

“It’s out.
Enjoy.”

Aptly said!

Download the game through the button below, and share your thoughts in the comments! Be warned, it’s a hefty 150MB!

E3 2013: Sonic Lost World Hands-on

 28022SONIC_LOST_WORLD_Wii_U_Screenshots_720p_1280x720_v1_6

If there is one thing I both love and hate about the Sonic franchise, it is its tendency to innovate when innovation isn’t really necessary. “If it’s not broken, don’t fix it” isn’t exactly a saying SEGA lives by. It seems like ever since the Adventure series, every home console Sonic game has needed its own unique gimmick. A gimmick that, until a few years ago, always seemed to come at the detriment of the game play this gimmick was trying to improve. Now, after two great Sonic games that have built upon the foundation initially laid by Unleashed’s daytime stages, Sonic Team has thrown out everything they have been establishing over the last several years in favor of something completely different.

The single greatest issue that every 3D Sonic game has had is control. Whether it be control of the camera or control of the characters, Sonic Team has long been struggling to perfect Sonic’s movement in 3D. Over the course of Unleashed, Colors and Generations, Sonic Team has made huge strides in solving this problem, but they’ve done it largely by taking control away from the player or throwing Sonic into a 2D space. This has resulted in the best Sonic games since the Genesis era,  but has also turned Sonic’s 3D stages into on-rails obstacle courses, providing players with a variety of different paths to take but giving them little reason to stop and explore.

28023SONIC_LOST_WORLD_Wii_U_Screenshots_720p_1280x720_v1_7

Lost World’s primary goal is to completely reinvent how Sonic moves in 3D. For the most part, the game succeeds at this beautifully. The new Parkour system allows Sonic to run along walls and up trees, making game play sections that would have been completely automated in previous Sonic games completely controllable by the player

This new system of movement is critical to the other big new idea Lost World brings to the table: the creative level design. Lost World’s 3D stage “Windy Hill is a series of cylindrical worlds suspended in the air. The scale in this stage is huge that not only allows for a lot of fun platforming, but also oozes with hidden paths and secrets. A quick run to the underside of the level reveals a whole new area ripe for exploration. A given area can have as many as four or five different paths to take, each of which test different skills. The default path in Windy Hill was the easiest, letting players just run forward and smash enemies. The other paths were more difficult though. Some paths have secrets like golden canons that will take you to new areas or red rings or animal capsules. One path was filled with spikes and enemies and was very difficult to navigate. Another path was very narrow and easy to fall off of, and yet another required the use of the wall run. During each successive play through of this stage I tried something different and found something new in the process. This exploration was further facilitated by the run and spin dash buttons, which give players an unprecedented amount of control over Sonic’s speed.

28018SONIC_LOST_WORLD_Wii_U_Screenshots_720p_1280x720_v1_11

As Sonic has gotten faster and faster, he’s also become more unwieldy in more platform heavy areas. The run and spin dash buttons finally offer a solution to this problem. Anyone who has played Mario 3D Land will find these additions to be quite natural. The run and spin dash buttons essentially act like gears in a manual transition. Without these buttons Sonic runs about as fast as Mario would. At this speed Sonic can easily navigate platforming areas with precision. With the run button Sonic’s speed increases, allowing him quickly race through areas and perform Parkour moves. The spin dash button works exactly like it has in past games, allowing Sonic to quickly reach his top speed and blast through areas, though at the expense of the more precise movement of the lower speeds. If not for the run button, exploring the areas wouldn’t be nearly as fun.

This was the first Sonic game in a long time where I found myself exploring more than trying to improve my time. Of course, not all of the stages available in the demo were like this. The second stage, “Desert Zone 1”, the sweets filled level you guys have been hearing about, is a lot more straight forward and traditional. The level is completely two dimensional and feels closer to something like a side scrolling Sonic Colors level. Much like Colors’s 2D areas, this level also had plenty of secrets, hidden areas, and alternate paths. This level was a lot of fun, but didn’t really blow me away like Windy Hill did.

SonicLostWorld_IGNJune2013

The final stage is somewhat reminiscent of the auto run game play of Sonic 06 and Secret Rings, though with significantly better controls. In this beehive themed stage, Sonic runs down a narrow path at top speed, smashing robots and trying not to fall off the path or smash into a wall. This stage feels much more reminiscent to something out of Generations, though it never really approaches Generations’s level of speed. The most notable new element on display here is Sonic’s ability to smash through a dozen enemies at once with a single, extended homing attack.

Speaking of the homing attack, the battle system of this game has also been changed significantly. The homing attack is now a lot more versatile, easily targeting and hitting enemies in any direction. It feels like a more polished version of what was used in Sonic Adventure, with a much quicker recovery time that allows Sonic to quickly hit a variety of nearby enemies in any direction. The actual range of the attack is a bit shorter now, though. I often found myself attempting to do it a little too soon as a result. In addition to the homing attack, there is now a bounce attack and a kick. I didn’t find myself using the bounce attack much, though it feels a little like the bounce from SA2. The kick I had to use a lot, though, especially on the snail enemies, which take multiple homing attacks to kill otherwise. It works a lot like the homing attack, except it is slower and has less range.

28021SONIC_LOST_WORLD_Wii_U_Screenshots_720p_1280x720_v1_5

The many changes made to Lost World threw me off at first. I kept using the wrong attacks, I kept screwing up whenever I tried to use the Parkour system, and I died a lot. By the last day of E3 I was playing the game like a pro though and things that didn’t make much sense to me, like the inclusion of the kick attack and some of the finer aspects of the Parkour system, made a lot more sense. The kick attack is meant to test a players reflexes rather than simply mashing the A button. The Parkour system can pretty much be used to get up anything and really opens up these levels to exploration in ways that simply haven’t been done before in a Sonic game.

This game is very beautiful. It’s the first Sonic game I have ever played at E3 that actually had a consistently smooth frame rate. It remained at a steady 60 frames per second, and never had a moment of noticeable slowdown. Past Sonic games have always struggled to even maintain 30 frames, making the Lost World demo the smoothest 3D Sonic game I have played, period.

One thing I can say after this demo is that Lost Words is extremely polished and very fun. Though it lacks the speed of Unleashed, Colors and Generations, Lost World more than makes up for it in the exploration this slower speed now allows. I cannot guarantee that fans of Sonic’s faster games will enjoy Lost World, but if you are like me and you’ve been anxious for a slower Sonic game with meatier platforming levels, you are in for a real treat later this year.

Sonic The Hedgehog Interactive Annual Coming August 2013

sonicannual

Well they certainly kept this one quiet! Pedigree Books have announced that they will be releasing a new Sonic The Hedgehog Interactive Annual which is expected in stores this August. However, this isn’t just your typical annual or yearbook, this one has a special party trick. It takes advantage of Augmented Reality.

If you have a smart phone or another device that can perform this party piece, if you hold it above certain pages, you’ll be treated to additional content such as stories, activities, annimations, puzzles and even extended character profiles. Pedigree claims 20% of the book will have the ability to do this.

The range will be sold alongside other franchises and be catergorised as ‘Super Interactive Annuals’ and will go on sale this August. No details on prices or if this would be released worldwide were given, however odds are you’ll probably find a comic book store or online bookshop that might be willing to import it for you.

As a bit of trivia, to my knowledge, the last time a Sonic annual/yearbook came out was back in 1992, twenty one years ago… if you are old enough to remember seeing these in bookshops, high-five… that was a totally radical time.

TSS @ E3: Takashi Iizuka Interview “Pure Platforming Action”

Iizuka (left) and his translator.
Iizuka (left) and his translator.

Sonic Lost World is a dramatic change in focus for a Sonic platform. Gone is the safe, well done engine from Unleashed to Generations and in comes a new game play experience. That’s a risky move considering many critics are just now seeing the improvement the Sonic games have been making. As me and Nuckles87 sit down privately with the head of Sonic Team Takashi Iizuka, he explains to us why this move was the right choice.

Whether you love it or loathe it, the Mario & Sonic series of Olympic-themed games is set to continue later this year with Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games set in Russia – and because it’s E3 this week, there’s a load of new screenshots! Be sure to check them out in the gallery below.

Additionally, there’s a few tidbits of information about the game from a PR e-mail posted on the GoNintendo website. No exact release date has been set yet, but we can expect to find out when the unlikely duo will be skating their way onto Wii U in due course.

Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games: The game includes a variety of events from the Winter Games, including bobsleigh, skiing, figure skating pairs and snowboard slopestyle – which will make its Olympic Games debut in Sochi, Russia. Different events might use the Wii Remote Plus controller, Wii U GamePad controller or both. In addition to realistic events, the game also includes Dream Events set in the worlds of Sonic and Mario that let players perform moves not possible in real life. Launch details and timing will be announced at a later date.

Are you looking forward to the return of Mario and Sonic? Let us know in the comments!

Update: Sonic Lost World Release Date Is Holiday 2013

Sonic Lost World

Update: It would appear that Gonintendo got it wrong. The game does not yet have a firm release date, the only date given is ‘holiday 2013.’

Original Story: According to a Press Release sent to gonintendo.com. Sonic Lost World will be released a lot sooner than expected, on October 13th for both the Wii U and 3DS. Odds are this is the US release since EU games are typically released on a Friday, no news yet on special/limited editions, but we’ll keep you updated if anything new comes.

SEGASonic:Radio Relaunches June 14th

SSR

We’ve shut down for maintenance, we’ve sought some fresh blood, we’ve got ourselves a new crew, and we’ve worked pretty damn hard behind the scenes to prepare the best Sonic-themed radio experience.

Thus, at long last, we are ready. Maintenance time is finally over, because SEGASonic:Radio is returning for good this very week!

For starters, as some keen-eyed visitors of TSS have noticed, adding a certain word in the address bar led to a brand new page, where everything is all bright and green! To likely be added underneath the Media Tab, SS:R has gained its own mini-site, which includes the complete schedule, and streamchatroom, Twitter and Facebook links. DJs will also soon be able to post updates via the front page when episodes of their recent shows are uploaded into the Archive. A few further surprises should roll out over the coming weeks, but I’ll keep mum on those in the meantime… though I could say that the site will become more SS:R friendly as updates go along~!

So, how big of a relaunch are we talking about? Well… SEGASonic:Radio now has a line-up of eight shows – yikes, that’s just about a show every single day! Two returning shows, one taken aboard, and five premieres on this very station! What do we got?

Sonic Talk Interviews Archie Sonic Artist Tracy Yardley!

Since Sonic Talk was created last year, we’ve interviewed Sonic writer Ian Flynn twice, yet we never did manage to talk to Tracy Yardley…until now, that is. Today Sonic Talk finally gets to have a sit down with Tracy, talking with him about the latest Sonic news and asking him questions written by both fans and us. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we did recording it!

You can see a high-res version of the above image, which was drawn for us by Mr. Yardley for use in the show, over at SEGAbits. If you are interested in having your own piece of Yardley art, as well as an assortment of other SEGA related goodies, check out the SEGAbits Summer of Art Contest.

TSS Review: This LA Convention Centre Escalator

We get a lot of requests here at TSS for reviews and news on various different items. Today we finally review something that fans have requested for a long time… This LA Convention Centre Escalator.

lostworldescalator1

The escalator makes travelling different floors a breeze, one just has to stand on the pannels and hold onto the handrail. The escalator will take you under it’s own power to the desired floor destination. Travel both up and down, no online pass required, multiplayer mode is supported with aproximately 20-30 people able to use the esculator at a time with a co-op mode for parents with small children.

lostworldescalator2

The escalator has a built in safety cut off switch and emergency power off button. This is designed to prevent injury in case of emergency, such as a badnik attack. The views from the escalator are catered to the videogaming individual, with directions to various exhibits and demonstration booths, as well as merchandise and refreshments stalls.

Transportation takes under 30 seconds. This is recommended escalator for those attending E3.

And it looks awesome.

Sonic Lost World Gameplay Surfaces via IGN

Hot off of IGN, an extensive amount of gameplay footage of Sonic Lost World has surfaced along with some additional information about the game. That’s right, footage as in both Wii U and 3DS versions got previewed!

For the Wii U edition, “Support Mode” will see to that a second player will assist in destroying badniks and obstacles via a “Radio Controlled Gadget” invented by Tails, utilized through the Wii Remote.

For the 3DS version, SLW has Dimps once again returning in the handheld version development and will feature level design different to that of its home console counterpart. In addition, up to four players can race against one another in Versus Mode both locally and online. Connectability to the Wii U game has also been hinted with players to be able to share items.

Catch the commentary video of the Wii U version between Aaron Webber of SEGA of America and Rich George of IGN first, then the three 3DS videos, for gameplay footage of Windy Hill and Desert Ruin!

“Oh Yeah!” Sonic 4 & Sonic CD coming to the Ouya!

Sonic-the-Hedgehog-4-Episode-2-logo

If you havn’t heard of the Ouya yet, you probably won’t care much about this particular bit of news, and if you don’t know what Ouya is, then you might want to look it up.

Anyway, on june 27th, Sega is going to release three Sonic games on the system, they include, Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (episode 1 & 2) and Sonic CD, all of which have been optimised for Ouya’s Tegra 3 processor.

The interesting part about this deal is the change in strategy. When players download the titles, they will be able to play a the first levels of Sonic 4 episode 1 and Sonic CD for free, and the first two levels of Sonic 4 Episode 2 for free. If they like the game, they can purchase the full game later on.

Each game will cost $6.99 each. The deal is only for these three titles and there was no mention of plans to expand the number of Sega games at this time.

So… anyone here actually getting an Ouya?

Sonic Lost World Wii U, 3DS Prices Set on Amazon

SLWU_Amazon

No sign of a release date just yet, though it appears that we already have a price point on both versions of Sonic Lost World! Hey, at least you’ll know what the damage to your wallet will be in advance, right?

Via Amazon, it appears that the Wii U version of Lost World is priced at $49,95USD, while the 3DS version of the parkour-centric title is to be sold for $39,95USD. Pretty fair prices, mind!

NKOK Teases New Sonic Toys

At the start of the year, you might remember how toy maker NKOK dropped hints that they were making a new line of Sonic toys based off Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed? Well following an update to their website, we can confirm that this is indeed the case as well as one or two other suprises.

Their website not only depicts the older toys, but also has listings for several new products, unfortunately none of which had images to acompany them. However, the descriptions give you a very good idea as to what to expect.

Slot Car Racing Toys

Battery Opperated Sonic & Shadow Slot Car Race Set

Battery Opperated Sonic & Tails Slot Car Race Set. (Approximately 8 feet of track)

Hand Crank Generator Sonic & Shadow Super Loop Set (This product is based on ASRT vehicles)

Light & Sound Pullback Vehicles

Pullback ASRT Sonic.

Pullback ASRT Tails.

Pullback ASRT Shadow.

As mentioned before, no images acompany the descriptions, however, the fact that these products are on the website would suggest licensing permission has been granted. No price or release dates were given, however, typically, NKOK toys have been released worldwide.

Third Sonic Game Isn’t Coming This Year

Marioandsonictweet

Despite what Nintendo of Germany’s press release said last week, SEGA has confirmed to IGN’s Rich George that the third Sonic game will not be arriving this year. This means that the third game in Nintendo’s three game deal may be more than a digital title or a spin off. It also means that this exclusive deal won’t be ending for a little while. Will Nintendo fans be getting another main Sonic title next year? Guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
