The past few years have been something of a golden age for Sonic plushies, with increasingly obscure characters finally getting their own stuffed toys thanks to Great Eastern Entertainment. That trend continues with GEE’s latest plushies: Tangle the Lemur and Fang the Sniper.
Tangle was revealed by GEE on their Twitter just a few moments ago, and is available now on their website for $23.99. The plush is 10 inches tall, and I must say, it looks pretty good:
Tangle is the second IDW character to get a plush, after GEE released Whisper last year. Unfortunately, Whisper is currently sold out on their website, but she will be getting a restock in Q1 2022.
In addition to Tangle, Fang the Sniper also appears to be getting his own plush. Though not officially announced as of this writing, the plush was leaked via Ali Express and confirmed by Sonic Merch News.
Because this is a leak, this is technically a rumor. But GEE itself has more or less confirmed that the leak is real.
Below, we have the tweet from Sonic Merch News, as well as the images from the leak:
🚨BREAKING🚨 A Brand New Fang the Sniper plush by presumably @geanimation has been leaked by an Ali Express listing.
We've held off on this leak to confirm everything so we can deliver reliable news to you all.

Sonic’s 30th anniversary is almost over, but the partnerships between SEGA and other companies has certainly not slowed. In the latest of these collaborations SEGA has teamed up with Moor-Art Gallery to produce and sell a special limited edition 30th anniversary print. This print will be limited to just 200 copies, and is currently being sold for £34.99. Given the limited nature of these prints, you can expect them to go fast.
You can find the print here. They ship worldwide. You can check out what it looks like below:

Amongst a host of new figures from the toy retailer JAKKS Pacific comes what all automata-aficionados have been waiting for – an action of the ultimate E-series robot, E-123 Omega!
Other than a figurine contained in the Sonic Battle Racers board game, this is the first action figure fans have seen of this much-loved merciless mecha; images of the (sizable) figure can be seen below:
According to the website, the figures are expected to be available in the UK around March 2022, however this might be earlier for those in the US.

G-Fuel has been doing…a lot with their Sonic partnership, and thankfully their latest product at least isn’t chili dog flavored. This new flavor is called “Party Punch.” Aside from being adorned in 30th anniversary imagery, and probably being punch flavored, we don’t know much else about this.
If you absolutely can’t wait for this new flavor, there is a waitlist you can join.

They are currently offering a range of items including 1 oz bullion and colourised Silver coins at around $30 each, which include designs of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman.
Additionally, the mint are also offering proof coins in a limited run of 300 (struck to the same standard but with extra detailing) in both silver and gold variants and including a presentation tin, with the silver version currently sold out at time of writing.
The 1 oz gold proof coin is smaller than the silver version due to the density of the metal (32 mm as opposed to 39 mm) and will set you back a whopping $2000.

Back in February, LEGO Ideas approved Viv Grannell’s Sonic Mania Green Hill Zone set featuring classic Sonic, the imposing Eggman Robot boss, the Hard Boiled Heavies, and modular chunks of Green Hill’s iconic landscape, and while we don’t have a release timetable for the set yet, it turns out we missed some small details back when Bits N’ Bricks, an official LEGO games podcast, did an episode on the Sonic Mania set and the LEGO Ideas process in February 2021.
In an interview with LEGO Group designer Samuel Johnson, he notes that the Mania build is a bit simpler and geometric in structure than most Ideas sets, in line with the series itself. Johnson hopes that this relationship with SEGA does give way to more partnerships as it did with Ghostbusters and Minecraft. Although changes normally occur between the original Ideas pitch and the final released product, LEGO Group’s designers work with the original Ideas submitter (as well as license holders) to make sure it maintains the spirit that the designer originally pitched and was voted on. Later, the team interviews John Choon, SEGA’s Director of Marketing, who expressed interest in seeing other characters and worlds represented as Lego projects in the future.
While the podcast episode doesn’t reveal anything concrete about the set itself or any future plans, it does highlight the LEGO Ideas process and all of the parties that need to be involved to fully realize an Ideas set.

As online entertainment has taken over my diet, it’s rare to really encounter the style of toy commercials I used to ingest in my youth, but JAKKS Pacific haven’t given up the style even if the medium has shifted.
The Dr. Eggman Robot Battle Set is now available online and in-stores at Target in the US, and it comes with the ever classic kid-playing-in-living-room ad complete with Sonic 2 video clip and BATTLE DAMAGE!!

If there’s one thing we love more than Sonic himself, it’s official Sonic-themed merchandise. Especially if it’s the kind of merchandise that gets really creative with the brand and goes above and beyond just slapping some key art on a t-shirt. That’s why we’ve been in love with SEGA Shop UK’s officially-licensed goods for such a long time – their latest line of goods is available now and further proof of their creativity, with a ‘Japanese Style’ themed range hitting just in time for Sonic’s 30th anniversary! Let’s take a look.

Finally. We’ve all waited nearly six months for a morsel of information on what SEGA may be planning to celebrate Sonic the Hedgehog’s 30th Anniversary. For a character best known for his lightning-fast speed, updates have been almost-controversially slow. But yesterday, SEGA revealed a special livestream taking place on May 27th focusing on Sonic announcements and news. So, what could they have lined up?

SECOND UPDATE: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio (best known for the Yakuza/Judgment series) posted a cryptic reply. It’s unclear if this is them telling you to save money for upcoming games, suggesting there’s some sort of new Sonic arcade game, suggesting Sonic will have some sort of cameo in a future Yakuza/Judgment game, or that the studio itself will be involved in a Sonic game. Luckily we’ll know very soon:
