Pre-order the New Sonic Pizza Cutter!

Have you ever baked a pizza, taken it out of the oven, and imagined that Sonic the Hedgehog was slicing it for you? I don’t mean like an underpaid Pizza Hut employee, I mean actually curling into his legendary spin attack and rationing out that cheesy goodness? …no? Just me? Well, maybe these fantasies will no longer be so niche, as SEGA has catered to the food utensil market with their upcoming Sonic-themed Pizza Cutter!

Digital Preorders for Sonic Forces’ Bonus Edition Are Now Going Live

Hope you’ve readied your wallets, folks. Sonic Forces is less than two months away from launch now, and there’s a lot about the game to get psyched about. The ability to live out your dream of having your own original character star in an official Sonic game, a notably much more ambitious and serious story compared to recent entries, a cool new villain, and now Shadow the Hedgehog returning as a playable character for the first time in over a decade, longtime fans of the series might have little reason to sit this game out.

That said, if you’re the type of gamer who prefers the convenience of owning a game digitally and playing it the moment it’s officially released, we bring good news! Preorders for the digital versions of Sonic Forces on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are going live today, with the PC version going live on Thursday, September 21.
(Unfortunately this does not apply to the Nintendo Switch iteration, as the console’s eShop is not currently enabling early purchases and preloads.)

Those who purchase the game early digitally will automatically receive the previously announced SEGA/Atlus costume pack Add-on, and the Shadow Costume, for the Custom Hero character. All owners of the game regardless of medium will also be receiving the newly revealed Episode Shadow Add-on as well.

Sonic Forces launches on November 7 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Sonic Boom Fire & Ice’s Plot Sure Sounds Familiar

SBFI_3DS_keyart_large_1433865264

Sonic Boom Fire & Ice may not have been at E3, but it’s up on Amazon for pre-order, along with a brief plot synopsis which some may find they’ve heard before.

Dr. Eggman has discovered the supercharged element ragnium on the mythical Island of Ragna Rock. He mines it as a fuel source, piping off the messy by-products of the operation to adjacent islands, creating fire and ice gameplay. Using this fuel to power his ultra-fast bot racers is his latest plan to discredit his eternal rival Sonic, but backed by ragnium, fire and ice, a robot army, and D-Fekt, an unflinchingly powerful henchman, this time Dr. Eggman just may succeed. Sonic and friends must re-claim each island by destroying enemies, vanquishing the Island Defender, winning rival races, and reversing the flow of the elemental tubes. It all culminates with an epic battle on the Island of Ragna Rock where Sonic may just have to save Dr. Eggman from his own creation.

Eggman finds a source of incredible power, builds a powerful robot army, his creation turns against him, Sonic has to save Eggman.

That sounds, very familiar to a lot of previous Sonic games, in fact it sounds very similar to the plot of Rise of Lyric in many ways.

Amazon is currently asking for $39.99 for pre-orders and currently has a placeholder release date in place.

First 4 Figures’ Modern Super Sonic Statue opens for Pre-Orders

vertical_28

Modern Super Sonic; First 4 Figures’ latest offering has opened for pre-orders today, with a whole slew of extra details about the statue following in its wake.

The statue, which was revealed to fans some months ago at Weston Super Sonic depicts the climactic moments from the final battle in Sonic Adventure with Perfect Chaos, with Super Sonic splashing down into the flood waters that swamped Station Square.

horizontal_04

As is per the course with F4F releases, we’ve got a flashy, more limited (600 pieces) exclusive version for $249.99…

vertical_12

And a slightly less flashy and less limited (1500 pieces) regular version for $224.99.

vertical_20

Both versions of the statue are due to arrive in Q1 of 2016.

I think it’s safe to say in this instance that the Exclusive version is where it’s at this time around. I mean… Look at some of these darkened shots, and how the light shines up from the base to light up the entire figure. Hooray for clear resin!

And another shot from my personal collection from when WSS had the statue:

With Modern Super out of the way, it begs the question of who or what will be next for the Modern line? Time will tell for sure.

First 4 Figures Modern Super Sonic Pre-Orders open May 5th

20195_10152858507906732_5005241263243825564_n

We knew it was coming, and now it’s just around the corner. First 4 Figures’ Modern Super Sonic statue will be going up for pre-orders this coming Tuesday (5th May 2015).

Originally revealed at Weston Super Sonic earlier this year, the statue portrays Modern Super Sonic splashing down into Station Square’s flooded remains in a pose reminiscent to this piece of artwork. The statue also includes a kick arse lighting effect that causes the water on the top of the base to light up.

Below is a video our very own Hogfather got of the statue during his visit to Weston Super Sonic of the statue, and its lighting features.

Be sure to join us on Tuesday, where the full official reveal of the statue will take place!

First 4 Figures “The Tornado” Diorama opens for Pre-Orders

horizontal_01

The latest in First 4 Figures’ Sonic Diorama Collection looks to be flying high, but at has just landed for pre-orders!

F4F’s “The Tornado” is a monster at almost 18 inches tall, and it captures the scene that played out at the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, where Sonic’s rocket equipped Bi-Plane powers through the clouds in chase of Dr. Eggman. The piece itself looks fantastic, with Sonic confidently riding the wings whilst Tails pilots from the Tornado’s cockpit.

A neat little addition to the piece is the inclusion of a pivoted stand to attach the plane to the cloudy base, which allows the plane to be angled like this:

horizontal_05

Or maybe even like this…

vertical_15

(TornadoDimpsEdition)

First 4 Figures has also gone back to ‘Regular and Exclusive’ variants, meaning that two versions of the piece are up for grabs. The Exclusive edition (limited to 450 pieces) will set your bank account back $329.99. As you can probably see, like many other of First 4 Figures’ exclusive pieces, LEDs have been incorporated into this version of the statue.

vertical_26

The Regular version (1000 pieces) is $30 cheaper at $299.99, but has no LEDs incorporated into the design.

vertical_08

First 4 Figures says that the statue is due to ship in Q4 of this year, so there’s still time yet to get the rings together to buy this beast. There is also the option to utilise the company’s ‘flexipay’ method, to spread the cost a little more finely.

You can find more images of Both regular and exclusive pieces (and place pre-orders) at the following links:

First 4 Figures Dr. Robotnik Statue: Pre-Orders Now Open

vertical_22

First 4 Figures’ Dr. Robotnik statue has gone up for pre-order, and all I can say is, “reinforce your shelves, and prepare your wallet for severe trauma”.

The statue has Robotnik portrayed in a pose that is identical to that of the old Japanese resin statue (the one with the wooden base). Unlike the wooden base of the Japanese statue, he’s standing on one of Wing Fortress’ floating platforms. No alternative light up ‘exclusive’ features this time around, instead we have a set of alternative hands, allowing the Doctor to hold on to two Chaos Emeralds.

vertical_10

Now where have I seen that before?

TryAgain-Sonic1MD

…Nice touch.

Robotnik is a beast too. The statue has been made to scale with the others in the series, meaning it measures in at a whopping 22 inches tall (and 19 inches wide), making him nearly twice as tall as some of the other statues in the series. I sense quite a few cabinets being too small for this one.

horizontal_14

You’ll probably be anticipating that this goliath will be all kinds of bad news for collectors and Robotnik fans on tighter budgets, and you’d be right. To get one of the 1000 produced Dr. Robotniks, you will need to cough up $399.99. Yeowch. I can already hear bank accounts across the land crying ‘MERCY!’ in unison. At least there’s a ‘flexi-pay’ option to cushion the blow (somewhat).

With Dr. Robotnik now joining the ranks of the other statues, it could be argued that the Classic Sonic the Hedgehog line is ‘complete’, unless First 4 Figures decide to polish the line off with a classic Amy Rose.

You can Pre-Order Dr. Robotnik, and see the whole set of images right here.

Dr. Robotnik by First 4 Figures: Preorders Open October 7th

10686735_10152369589956732_3131183833990459740_n_3

The wait is almost over.

A few moments ago, this teaser image was shared via First4Figures’ social media channels, showing that pre-orders for the highly anticipated classic Dr. Robotnik statue will be opening soon, and apparently keeping his western name intact! (Because, that does seem to matter to people)

After multiple teasers were released earlier in the year, we’ll soon have the full details on this beast of a statue, including exclusive edition (if there is one), physical size and perhaps most importantly… Price.

Also accompanying the image was this message:

And boy is he big…really big…did I mention he is big?? Oh so big!

…I’m scared.

Pre-Order Now: First 4 Figures Sonic Generations “City Escape” Diorama

f4fgenerationsstatue1

Chances are if you wanted one of these you’ve already pre-ordered by now, but here you go anyway. First 4 Figures have opened pre-orders for their Sonic statue, however unlike previous editions, this is part of their new ‘diorama’ range.

The scene depicts modern and classic Sonic skateboarding through the iconic City Escape stage as depicted in Sonic Generations. Whilst the statue may get a lot of you excited, some may end up being priced out of these as they’re VERY expensive!

The standard edition is limited to 1000 units and costs $299.99 (£185)

The ‘exclusive’ edition is limited to 450 units and costs $329.99 (£204)

However, don’t forget those prices do not include shipping, for people living in the UK you’re looking at an extra $30 on top of that.

Now for a limited time F4F have issued discount codes for each statue which takes $25 off the regular and $30 off the exclusive.

Also if you are interested in pre-ordering, please be aware of what the statue will actually look like when you get it, the image at the top is very eye catching but it also has a lot of photoshopped effects that will not be on the final statue, this is a more true to life image of what it will look like.

True Colours: The Best of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 pre-order from JunSenoue.com

tc

As with the albums “Super Sonic Songs: Best of Crush 40” and “Jun Senoue: The Works”, the second installment of Best of Sonic songs “True Colours” is available to order from the Jun Senoue Official Shop. The album will not be released until tomorrow, but this is another chance to snap up a signed copy of the album, scribbled on by “Junny Baby” (as Dread refers to him).

The album includes another fantastic lineup of tracks, and also includes the previously unreleased “Look-A-Like”, the main track from the Sonic OVA Anime, as well as the rather Snazzy Sonic3 MegaD Mix from Sonic Gems Collection amongst other remixes. Ted Poley fans will also be able to hear a Demo version of “Lazy Days…Living In Paradise”, the theme to Big the Cat from SA1.

Nip over to the Jun Senoue Official Shop to pre-order your copy for the meagre sum of $30 plus shipping.

Either that or direct your parents attention to the site, should Santa be stuck for what to put in your stocking this year…

True Colors: Best of Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Available For Order

truecolours2SEGA Japan’s new online store is currently taking orders for the upcoming compilation CD, “True Colors 2: The Best of Sonic the Hedgehog – Part 2”. The release – one of three CDs that Jun Senoue is producing – is going for ¥2,500, which works out at about £16.70. The record won’t be on sale officially until the 16th December 2009.

You can order the title from SEGA’s Ebten store (their replacement for their dedicated SEGA Direct online service), or alternatively Amazon’s Japan website (click for translation) is selling the CD for the same price and is likely to ship overseas.

Amazon’s website reveals a portion of the tracklist that we can expect to find on the record, which includes themes from Sonic Adventure 2’s “Throw It All Away” and E-102 Gamma’s theme from Sonic Adventure. An original demo version of “Lazy Days”, a new remix of “Dreams of an Absolution” and a Hybrid Mix of “All Hail Shadow” featuring Magna-Fi’s Mike Szuter is also revealed.

Sounds like a pretty special tracklist, for sure. Who’s interested in getting a copy once December hits?
