httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bq_Stqbwynw

Prominent Sonic community interviewer TitansCreed is best known for his rather interesting and insightful Community Spotlight discussions at Sonic Wrecks. With this, his latest interview, TC goes for the multimedia angle – in more ways than one. Not only is this a recorded audio chat on a YouTube video player, but the interviewees in question happen to be none other than flash animation studio Sonic Paradox.

Listen to TC chat with the members of this hilarious troupe, known for their comical antics with the Sonic Shorts and various other spoof animations. BoozermaN, GameBuddy, Cyberlink420, SSF1991, RocktheJake, Celestorion, Lithuania and Hieifireshadow are among the guys facing questions in this special interview.

Sonic 4: Episode 2 EU Release Dates Update

SEGA Europe has today released the European version of the recent Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 trailer. In it we get an update on the European release dates for the game, but unlike the US, we don’t get anything more solid than the month of May for the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms. The PC, iOS and Tegra 3 compatible versions will also launch in May, with the Android/Google Play version following in June, and the Windows Phone 7 version made available later in July.

Eurogamer also reports that Sonic 4: Episode 2 will be priced at 1200 MSP on Xbox Live, £9.99 on PlayStation Network, and £12.99 for PC. No pricing info was given for the other versions, but we’ll pass on those details when they’re made available.

Keylogger Discovered in Sonic 2 HD, LOst no Longer in Team

[UPDATE] Earlier today, S2HD Project Manager Canned Karma announced that LOst, Sonic 2 HD‘s programmer who needlessly added DRM protection to the long anticipated fan game, is no longer part of the project, as stated in the Sonic Retro forum.

All of us had the exact same reaction everyone here did, and we’re actively looking into it to the best of our abilities. That said, we’ve heard just as much from LOst as anyone here has lately, so I’m not sure what, if anything, we’ll be able to find that corroborated or refutes what’s been brought to light. I will say this though. LOst is no longer a part of S2HD. I’ll have a more in depth response soon. We’re just as pissed off about this as the community is.

[ORIGINAL] Scarred Sun of Sonic Retro advises everyone who has downloaded the Alpha Demo of Sonic 2 HD to delete the entire software in light of a recent keylogger discovery, the cause behind triggered antivirus alerts. Read the full statement after the jump.

Slam-Up Jamday Act 1: Green Slams and Chemical Jams

Not that kind of Sonic Jam!

Welcome to a very special edition of Mash-Up Monday! After last week’s magical mash-ups, we found something that’s bound to be a slam for all of you! I hope you’re ready, because this week’s mash-ups are simply jamming!

Just like its fellow songs that work with just about anything (LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem”, “Guile’s Theme” from Street Fighter, the theme to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), Quad City DJ’s “Space Jam” is another tune that mashes with just about any song. Sonic music is of no exception!

That being said, let’s boot up the SEGA Jamnesis and begin our journey in the shoes of Slamnic the Hedgehog and Miles “Jam” Prower! Slam-Up Jamday Act 1: the checkered emerald basketball court of Green Slam Zone!

“WELCOME TO THE JAM.”

PAX EAST: Sonic 4 Episode 2 Hands-On

When Sonic 4 was revealed in 2010, it quickly became a very controversial game. Fans reacted with emotions ranging from joyful glee to seething, undiluted hatred. Criticisms ranged from the physics, to the level design, to Sonic’s…eye color. By the time of the game’s release, the more serious complaints were proven to have validity, though in despite of this criticism Sonic 4 Episode 1 received the highest scores of any console Sonic game in years, even managing eights from many of the larger websites.

One of the great things about releasing a game episodically is that it allows for developers to take fan and press criticism into account mid development. Sonic 4 is easily one of the best examples of this: Episode 2 features a large variety of improvements over Episode 1.

Roareye Reviews: Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFCzBpzJqLA

Roareye Black is back! The creator of community creation talent pool The Sonic Showcase Network is settling down to The Sonic Stadium, and he’s spending some time to give you some unique video reviews on all sorts of Sonic gear. First on his list? The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.

This cartoon series ran from 1993 to 1996, and was the more comical, less… serious of two different shows that DiC produced starring the blue blur. Roareye intends to do individual video reviews for each episode of AoStH, but for now he’s created an ‘overview’ of the series in general. Never got to watch AoStH? Check out this video to get the heads up – in a way that only Roareye can.

Let us know what you think in the comments box below – more are coming soon. These videos will be released as part of a big rebuilding initiative of TSS’ Information pages – when new video reviews arrive, episode pages will be created in the currently-limp Animation section of this website. Enjoy!

Freak-Out Friday: SUPAH SAWNICK RACIN’

One does not simply run through Green Hill Zone.

Its lush checkered emerald fields are guarded by more than just Motobugs; there is great evil there that does not sleep, and the great Eggman is ever watchful. It is a point of no return, where runners must keep their feet on the ground if they are to run away as the very air they breathe is filled with haste.

Only by Super Sonic Racing could you do this. If not, it is folly.

Sonic Co-Creator Hirokazu Yasuhara Joins Nintendo

Sonic the Hedgehog co-creator Hirokazu Yasuhara has officially joined the ranks of Nintendo, Sega’s old business rival in the 90’s, settling into NoA’s Nintendo Software Technology branch. While both Nintendo and Yasuhara have indeed confirmed the move, no details as to what is Yasuhara’s new role have been revealed yet.

To Sonic and Sega fans, Yasuhara is best recognized for creating Sonic the Hedgehog alongside Yuji Naka and Naoto Ōshima, working within SEGA as director, designer, and game planner for the Genesis and Saturn entries of the series. While he is known for his work from Sonic 1 through Sonic R, his portfolio also extends to other popular games such as Naughty Dog’s Jak and Daxter and Uncharted franchises, as well as the Pacman 30th Anniversary arcade game for Namco-Bandai.

[UPDATE] RUMOUR: Sonic Adventure 2 Coming to Xbox Live Arcade?

UPDATE: Harmonix has just announced Rock Band Blitz for XBLA and PSN. The list is now looking more credible. Thanks, Cola and Aptiva!

Original article:
What is believed to be a leaked list of upcoming Xbox Live Arcade games has appeared in a post at popular forum NeoGAF. Many already announced games are featured in the list, like Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, but there are some unannounced games, including Sonic Adventure 2 and Rock Band Blitz. The first Sonic Adventure game is already available on XBLA, so it would only make sense to re-release the sequel, too. As for Rock Band Blitz, Harmonix has recently stated that they are planning to announce their next game at PAX East this week, so could this be the new game?

The credibility of this list will rest on Harmonix’s announcement. We’ll let you know of any further developments.

You can view the full list of games after the jump.

AFD 2012: Sonic Team to No Longer Use Big The Cat

In what might be either a sad or happy day for Sonic fans, it seems that Sonic Team will no longer be using Big the Cat. In a recent interview with Takashi Iizuka, it was reported that Big was to be put on a list of older Sonic characters that are no longer in use. Said list includes Mighty, Nack, Bean, Bark and most recently Marine. Continue reading AFD 2012: Sonic Team to No Longer Use Big The Cat

AFD 2012: Lost Sonic Plushies Found By a Lost Tribe

In 1999, to promote Sonic Adventure, an advertising campaign was launched which showed several Sonic Adventure plush toys being thrown out of a plane and dropped into Amazonian jungle rivers to be carried away. However, due to the difficulty of filming from a plane and near rushing water was than many shots didn’t come out right, so many boxes of these plushes had to be used during the filming. Due to their location there was no way to recover the ‘merchandise’ after it was thrown from the aircraft. Continue reading AFD 2012: Lost Sonic Plushies Found By a Lost Tribe

AFD 2012: Right Said Fred X Cash Cash Remix Set For Next “Big Sonic Game”

The older Sonic fans among you may remember the rather daft single “Wonderman” by British Pop band Right Said Fred, released as promotion for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 way back in 1994. Baldy catwalk man Richard Fairbrass, lead singer of the band, let slip on the red carpet for an Olympics promotion event this evening, after a costumed Sonic and Mario joined them on the walk way, that the band had been drafted in to rework their hit song.
