Alongside the release of “MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE”, the 130-track soundtrack to the soon-to-be-released Team Sonic Racing, comes Sonic Sound Team Director Jun Senoue‘s third installment of “The Works” compilation album series.

The good folks at Disctek Media are bringing all 78 english language episodes in one volume. (Sorry Japanese sub fans, you’ll have to stick with Hulu for now.) This includes the extras from the DVD version as well as the original pitch video where the world of Sonic X had a lot less humans.

In a surprise reveal at the Sonic SXSW panel, Sega announced a series of Team Sonic Racing products available via their official stores… Including items inspired by everybody’s favourite amphibian, Froggy!
Yes that is a Froggy shirt, and yes those are Froggy hats!
The full collection is available on the US Sega Store and you also get a free Froggy balloon when you order the Froggy items.
However the EU stores do not have the Froggy hats, and the shirts are technically crowdfunded, orders will only be fulfilled if a specific unknown number of people also order the item.

The latest photo out of this year’s New York Toy Fair has revealed yet more Sonic merchandise: a line of blindbox keychains from toy and accessories manufacturer Kidrobot. The keychains, scheduled to launch this July, feature twelve modern Sonic characters.
The photo, posted below, was originally taken by Twitter user @lemeeniram, though his account is currently gone as of this writing. Because of this, the photo and the above information came from Twitter user @DatPatMac.
“Blindboxes” are collectibles that are sold in packaging that doesn’t indicate which collectible is inside. This means you may be buying more than twelve if you want the whole set.

With New York Toy Fair in full swing this weekend, the news on new Sonic the Hedgehog toys has come thick and fast – and it looks like the new JAKKS Pacific toy line up will include the first ever official Ray and Mighty figures!

New York Toy Fair 2019 is barely 4 hours old and oh boy they’re already hitting it out of the park with reveals!
Whilst we brought you the news that Jakks Pacific were the new master toy partner for Sonic, you may recall that Diamond Select also signed a big license deal to make products for the blue hedgehog.
Several new diorama like statues and modern figures have been confirmed as well as several Green Hill Zone playsets which can be placed together to make an entire zone display piece!
Another reveal comes from the company Innex who have announced official Sonic Pixel art pieces which will be available later in the year.

JAKKS Pacific, the children’s toy company behind such toy lines such as WWE and World of Nintendo action figures, have today announced that it has commenced a global toy licensing deal with SEGA of America to produce Sonic the Hedgehog branded toys in a multi-year contract.

Is it just my imagination… Or does Japan get really amazing collectors/limited edition Sonic games?
Well Team Sonic Racing is no exception, whilst only a standard release has been confirmed for the west, Japan is getting a huge selection of limited and collectors editions!
The first edition is the “Team Sonic Racing” Trailer Music Selection” Version which comes with a small MP3 OST. Depending on the retailer you purchase it from, you also get a booklet and some acrylic ornaments.
But the most impressive edition is the DX Pack which comes with everything you see in this image. priced at 13,590 Yen (£93), the edition comes with the following…

It’s that festive time of year again! As always, we at TSS won’t be able to sleep on Christmas eve as we are too excited thinking about the Sonic the Hedgehog merchandise Santa will be bringing us in his sleigh! We must have been particularly good this year (we’ve only been completing hero missions), as Europe and the UK now has it’s very own dedicated SEGA Shop crammed with new and exclusive merchandise.

For the last few years, Tomy has been ‘the master toy partner’ for Sonic. Which has produced some really nice items as well as some products based on lesser used characters.
However as a consequence, a number of other companies have cut back on what they produce. One such company was GE Entertainment who used to produce a lot of really great plushies on a lot of the secondary and even retired cast.
Well it looks like GE are back in the plush game.
Confirming on twitter, the company will produce 3 new plushies for 2019. The first two are a standard Sonic and Super Sonic plush, shaped like a ball.
The third… is a 21″ Rouge the Bat plush!
21 inches is just over 53cm making it a very big plush indeed!
No other details were confirmed, but given how extensive GE were when they used to make Sonic plushies, we’ll be keeping a close eye on this one!

There is no stopping Funko, POPs, T-Shirts, Key-Chains, more POPs, Funko is on a quest to fill your room with all manner of quirky Sonic items.
And that seems to be a continuing trend with last nights announcement dragging everyone back to the 90’s kicking and screaming.
Funko are to launch a line of PEZ dispensers based on some of their more popular licenses and you guessed it, Sonic is in the line.
If you don’t know what a PEZ dispenser is, they’re small plastic toys which dispense a small sweet that according to your mum will ruin your dinner if you eat too many.
No release details were given just yet, but watch this space as I can imagine here at the house of TSS we’ll be finding empty dispensers around the office for months.

The Totaku figure range came seemingly out of nowhere, what started with characters associated with Playstation games has slowly grown to include more third party franchises with other exclusive characters for specific systems promised in the future.
Shortly after their reveal, Think Geek began teasing that a Sonic figure would be joining the line, before it was eventually revealed at Toy Fair 2018 and had an estimated release date of around the middle of the year.
But for fans who pre-ordered the figure, there has been a long wait and silence with regards to its release. The figure has undergone numerous delays and silence with regards to its status.
But it now looks like things are happening. Twitter user Juvi Luna noticed that the official Totaku website has now updated to say that the figure will now release in September and on closer inspection it also appears to have been re-designed slightly.
After many months of delays, and no word from stores or totaku themselves, the Sonic totaku finally has a tentative release month! Subway is now including Sonic toys with its Fresh Fit for Kids subs, just in time for Sonic’s birthday. The toys are simple, gear mechanisms like a zoetrope (a device that displayed simple animations before film existed). The Subway website displays each toy alongside one of their Fresh Fit subs, though it’s unclear if each toy is specific to each sub.

Wayô Records revealed on their Instagram page earlier today that they would be making a new set of 12” vinyl records featuring 19 tracks from Sonic Forces, including the game’s theme song, Fist Bump.
The vinyl is set to be made available for pre-order here on June 23 and will begin shipping to customers sometime in July. Check out the complete list of tracks, as well as a gallery showing off the record, below:

Have you ever made a grilled cheese sandwich and thought “this would be even better with Sonic’s face on it!”? Well, Sega may just have the product for you!
On shop.sega.com, you can purchase a Sonic toaster for only $34.99! There’s a bit of a catch though. It needs 1,000 orders in order for the toaster to become an actual product and get produced. At the moment, it’s only sold 376, so it’ll need to sell over 600 more to get made.
SEGA has 29 more days to reach that goal, so hopefully we will all be eating Sonic branded toast soon! The toaster has until the end of July 12 to reach its funding goal.

As part of their promotion of their Sonic branded sneakers, PUMA has set up a display outside of E3’s West Hall.
The display isn’t simply showing off the $130 sneakers, though. The display also includes a recreation of Green Hill’s famous loop-de-loop! The loop isn’t just a piece of cardboard either, as it also contains a giant, fully functional hamster wheel.
Unfortunately, people were apparently hurting themselves on the wheel before we arrived, and my cohort Jason Berry had to sign a liability waver before he could even stand on it for the picture I took below. As of now, walking on the wheel is no longer allowed, and the movement will be disable tomorrow.

A Japan exclusive item from Geek Life, because lets be honest there is absolutely no way this will come to the west! The curry is due for release on June 21st and will be delicious I imagine.

Growing up in the 90’s, I can remember seeing adverts for a very unique toy, Stretch Armstrong, he was a super hero who in the adverts would stop crime by using his powers to stretch, bit like Mr Fantastic from The Fantastic Four, only he later got a Dog and then a dedicated villain. We finally have images and a release date for the Sonic sneakers SEGA and sneaker company PUMA announced back in March. The blue shoes feature some Green Hill-inspired decoration, as well as a running Sonic sprite on the insoles. These shoes will be released alongside the Eggman-inspired sneakers revealed last week on June 5, for $130 at Puma.com, Puma stores and select sneaker retailers.
