PSO Getting ASCII Controller, Xbox Broadband Support
Sonic Team head Yuji Naka revealed at SEGA’s Consumer Conference that the Gamecube release of Phantasy Star Online will be accompanied by a third-party controller by ASCII that features a small keyboard. On the Xbox, PSO will be unique in that it will support the broadband features of Microsoft’s console, as opposed to Dreamcast and Gamecube’s modem connectivity.

Tokyo Game Show: PSO Version 2 Coming to Xbox
Good news for potential Xbox owners – Sonic Team has revealed at this year’s Tokyo Game Show that a version of Phantasy Star Online version 2 will be coming to Microsoft’s big black box. As Microsoft is intending to move into the online gaming space, it makes sense for SEGA to think about the Xbox as a viable platform for PSO. No more details were revealed, so we’ll have to wait and see what form it takes.

Fleetway’s Sonic the Comic #223 Will Be The Last
Sad news for UK Sonic fans. Fleetway’s Sonic the Comic will soon be gone for good, as the publisher is winding down its series of reprints. The comic stopped producing original stories from Issue #185, and Issue #223 will be the final ever issue, according to the company, and will likely be released to shops in December. No word as to whether the final issue will be a reprint or contain a unique Sonic story, but given that there are only six or seven more issues left to go, it could be a reprint of ‘The Evil Empire’.

‘Eggrobo Toujou’ Race Track Released for Sonic Adventure 2
Sonic Team has released a new piece of downloadable content for Sonic Adventure 2 on the Dreamcast. Called ‘Eggrobo Toujou’, the VMU file contains a skin for Sonic in the Kart Racing mini-game that changes him into a classic Egg Robo from Sonic & Knuckles. The download also comes with a special ‘E’ shaped track, which when played features the ‘E.G.G.M.A.N.’ theme in the background.
