Sega has put us all out of our misery and finally announced a release date for Sonic Adventure 2. The game will be hitting Japanese store shelves on June 23, which just happens to be Sonic the Hedgehog’s 10th Anniversary! What a fitting launch date. The game will launch in North America a couple of days before, on June 21 – not quite the Anniversary, but close enough (and US fans get to play it earlier, so stop whining). With all the news/rumours flying around about Sega ceasing production of the Dreamcast, you’d be forgiven for thinking that US retailer Kmart’s removal of the console from its shelves was some sort of reaction to that. New images of Sonic Adventure 2 have been revealed, giving a name to Sonic’s mysterious black doppelgänger. His name is Shadow, and he certainly looks similar enough to Sonic to be named as such.
