Dreams Come True song features in Sonic Nextgen

A new trailer surfacing on the Internet showcases an aspect of the new Sonic the Hedgehog game that not many fans were anticipating – the inclusion of ‘Sweet Sweet Sweet’, a song more commonly known as the ending theme to Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on Sega Megadrive.

You can watch the new trailer by RIGHT CLICKING HERE and selecting ‘Save Target/Link As…’. For a split second, the trailer also shows Silver battling a boss (likely Iblis or an Iblissy creature) with Blaze following beside him. Continue reading Dreams Come True song features in Sonic Nextgen

Art Image Night 2005 Details Revealed

As I reported in the SSMB forums some months ago, an event know only as ‘Art Image Night 2005’ was to take place in Japan. Because of the location of the event (Japan) very little was known about it, all information on the event was presented in Japanese, but using the crudest of translation resources (Google translation) ‘Sonic News’ aims to bring you, what it considers to be, a vital piece of SEGA gaming news.

The event has now passed, and ‘Sonic News’ has been able to establish that ‘Art Image Night 2005’ was in fact a live concert to celebrate the 15th anniversary of HMV in Japan, which it would seem has a far greater role in the Japanese music scene than it does in any other territory. Sonic Music to Feature in US Concert

A special music concert playing in the US this summer focuses completely on Video Game compositions, and Sonic the Hedgehog is one of the series to be included.

‘Video Games Live’ is a touring concert series that is made up of video game composers, and will be playing a mixture of classic themes from a range of influential computer game series, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, Halo, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy and even Pong and Donkey Kong. The concert series will begin its tour in the States at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles (CA) on Wednesday 6th July, and will be hitting various hotspots in the US over the course of the summer.

The composers of the event are video game music maestros themselves, with co-creators Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall having made music for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Earthworm Jim and Jade Empire, Splinter Cell respectively.

Movies, Music and… erm, Navigation Bars

Right, I did a few things today, let’s try to remember what the heck I added… New movies have been added to the Movies Zone – they are the Sonic & Tails and Sonic Ride movies from Sonic Jam and the entire Director’s Commentary from Sonic Adventure DX director Takashi Iizuka. Split into 4 parts, mind. The Music Zone has had a brush up, with previously submitted MIDIs and a slightly new format now added to Sonic 1, Sonic 2 on both Mega Drive and Master SystemSonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles.

Also, the first step into listening to people’s suggestions as to improving this site navigation wise, I’m changing the navigation bar to it’s old format. This is the format where everything we had to offer on The Sonic Stadium would appear as a seperate link in a simple menu. Many people felt this was the best navigation bar and made the TSS design previous to this one the best ever made. So who am I to argue with that eh? Won’t be on every page for a while though, so just be patient. Also added three links just for the hell of it – the Donation page returns, as does the Banner Service, as mentioned in the last update. Finally, since it’s been ages since there’s been any word of it, and people are starting to ask the questions again, The Sonic Smash Cards information page returns.
