TSS Interview: Remix Factory

Look on the credits of Shadow the Hedgehog, and you’ll notice a lot of artists have put their time and dedication to the angst-fest. Obviously Crush 40 is there, and JULIEN-K makes a pleasing return. But there’s a British studio called ‘Remix Factory’, that have only done two tracks for the game but are quickly going up in the world. TSS has an exclusive chinwag with the founder, ‘LB’, on working with Jun Senoue, the origins of Remix Factory and future plans. Continue reading TSS Interview: Remix Factory

Sonic Riders sequel confirmed

Shockingly enough, word has already found its way onto the internet of a sequel to SEGA/Sonic Team’s Sonic Riders, which is due for release next year. This information was brought forward by Takashi Yuda, the producer of Sonic Riders whose past work spans back from Sonic the Hedgehog 3 right through to Space Channel 5.

Eurogamer were lucky enough to talk with Yuda at a press event in London, the following is an extract from their report of the interview:

Speaking at a press event in London this week, Yuda-san told Eurogamer, “there will be a sequel to Sonic Riders, and it will definitely be on PS3 and Xbox 360”. Definitely, we responded, parrot-like to the last? “Yes.” Continue reading Sonic Riders sequel confirmed

PAL Sonic Advance Double Packs

Last week we brought you news of upcoming Sonic Advance GameBoy Advance double packs, which were all until now confirmed only for their US and Japanese release. In a press release just hours ago from THQ it was confirmed these packs would be released shortly in PAL territories. The clincher for the deal, and what is sure to frighten even the most hardened of collectors is that no less than six different double packs, seven if you consider ChuChu Rocket, all to be released during November.

The seven different combinations are:
Sonic Advance + Sonic Battle
Sonic Advance + Sonic Pinball Party
Sonic Advance + ChuChu Rocket!
Columns Crown + ChuChu Rocket!
Sonic Pinball Party + Sonic Battle
Sonic Battle + ChuChu Rocket!
Sonic Pinball Party + Columns Crown

Sonic Channel update

A very brief update here, and a rather nostalgic one at that.

Sonic channel has updated their site with some rather exciting content. For anybody wishing to sample the delights of ‘Sonic Mobile’, the port of the ‘megadrive’ classic ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ (which is coming to all Samsung VS3 smart phones in Europe), well you can. There’s a mini flash game that allows you to play the first level. I’m unable to tell if the play goes beyond just the first stage, of course this is due to the overall crappyness of keyboard control.

Control issue aside the game looks to be a good port, without looking at the game under a microscope, I’d say it’s hard to spot any differences. The music is great, and it’s amazing to think what today’s mobiles are capable of, because there’s no difference to the timeless pieces of music that featured in the original ‘Green Hill Zone’. However, when hit rings do dissipate after about two flashes, much quicker than the original, and certainly not enough time to grab back those precious lifelines. Sonic Riders for PSP

Spanish gaming site confirms from SEGA the launch of Sonic Riders on the PSP.

SEGA Japan apparently plans to release the upcoming Sonic racing game, Sonic Riders, for Sony’s Playstation Portable. This means that Sonic Riders will be coming out for a total of four systems- Gamecube, Xbox, PS2 and now PSP.

Currently, there are no details on the PSP version, or even if it is going to be different. It’s safe to assume though, that it may be possible that Sonic Riders may be going Wi-Fi with the handheld. Continue reading Sonic Riders for PSP
