Sega have just announced that they have appointed Ivo Gerscovich as the one in charge of the Sonic brand and its related businesses now outside of Japan, specifically the title Chief Brand Officer for the Sonic franchise in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. Above you, we have the North American version of the extended Deadly Six Trailer, showing off the Sonic Lost World antagonists in action… but there’s bad news bears for some.
While this doesn’t affect the October 18th release for eager European fans, SEGA of America has pushed the North American version of the game by another week, widening the gap between both regional releases. This purportedly makes it the last version of the game to be sold on retail, with Australia still getting their mits on Sonic’s Nintendo-exclusive adventure on the 19th Japan still receiving it on the 24th.
That clocks the North American street date of Sonic Lost World to October 29th instead of the previous October 22nd date. Just a quick heads-up before you head into Gamestop to pick up your Deadly Six Edition of the game!

SEGA has unveiled its E3 2002 showcase lineup, and it looks like Phantasy Star Online will get a fair bit of attention on the Sonic Team side of things. But, unless there’s a sneak announcement happening during the show, it appears that Sonic himself won’t be showing up in any form.

After seeing a fair bit of success in Japan, SEGA America has decided to enter the wireless market too. A new subsidiary called SEGA Mobile has been established, which will focus on creating bite-size games for cellular phones, PDAs and other such handheld devices.
