SEGA Says ‘Maybe’ to Sonic and Mario Crossover

Oh Sega, you absolute tease! After Yuji Naka poured water on the idea that Mario and Sonic could star in a game together, it seems that Sega of America’s president Peter Moore is going against that, stating that the company is keeping its options open.

Ask Dr. Dre(ad): July 2001 Mailbag

Welcome to Ask Dr. Dre(ad), you are now in my clinic. I am of course, Dr. Dread. You can call me Dr. Dre if you like, but I’m a doctor, not a rapper. Let’s just get that out of the way… Hmmm? Why am I here? Because of you. Yes, you. I know that, sometime in the not too distant future, you will have at least one question about Sonic the Hedgehog. A burning query that you just can’t shake off… but then you can’t be bothered to find the answer, and this leads to trauma. As well as constant head injuries involving a spade. Believe me, in my experience, it has happened. Continue reading Ask Dr. Dre(ad): July 2001 Mailbag

Peter Moore Talks SEGA/Nintendo Collaboration Possibilities

Peter Moore spoke to IGN Cube about two things: the possibility of a joint Sega/Nintendo RPG and the sightings of Sonic in Super Smash Brothers Melee for the Gamecube. While Moore said that both are just wishful thinking right now, it would not surprise him to see something of either calibre be announced. Sega will be at Spaceworld to show their Dreamcast line up and other future projects, The Sonic Stadium will keep you posted.

PSO Will Not Be A Launch Title for Gamecube

Don’t expect the Gamecube version of Phantasy Star Online to be released as a launch title for the console. Yuji Naka has explained that, even though the game is likely to be completed by the time the Gamecube launches, he is considering holding the game back until Nintendo reveals more details about its networking plans. It doesn’t seem like there will be online connectivity straight out of the box, which would make a game like PSO pretty useless.

PSO Version 2 Will Support Dreamcast Broadband Adaptor in US

Even though the Dreamcast is on its way out, there’s no need for you to worry about whether that Broadband Adaptor will continue to be supported. SEGA has confirmed that the US release of Phantasy Star Online Version 2 will indeed support the peripheral. The catch is that, for some reason, the game won’t support PPPoE connections. Still, you’ll be able to get some good broadband play in. The game arrives September 11.

Penders: Archie Sonic Sales Are Better Than They Seem

Sonic Comics are selling better then 90% of all comics, according to Archie artist and writer Ken Penders. “If you’re going by sales figures provided by Diamond Distributors, they’re misleading, as they only reflect sales through the comics shops,” he said. “Sonic is sold through a variety of outlets that Diamond doesn’t handle, thus the sales are much higher than anyone usually thinks. Does that mean it’s easier for Sonic? Hardly, as magazine sales overall are in a slump due to a variety of factors.”

I had to defrag my computer, it was annoying, I tell you, so I couldn’t not only use the PC, but defrag was not even working properly! Three days and it hadn’t even reached 2%! Just kept going back and forward from 0% to 1% then 0% again >_<. I managed to give it a break and check my e-mails. Jesus!
