According to a scan of the back of the Sonic Riders PC manual, and Amazon.com, what Sonic Next fans without any of those newfangled consoles have been waiting for is no longer just a nice idea!

The newest availiable Sonic game for the newer-gen consoles — Sonic Riders — just had a new suprise announced in regards to it: A port to the PC!
Like Sonic Adventure DX and Sonic Heroes before it, Sonic Riders will now be released in the near future on the Sega PC platform! While not many details are availiable yet as to if it will have any new features, or what the system requirements are, what we do know is that it’s a sure thing in the future, and will be on retail for $19.95 USD. If you were thinking of picking up Riders at all, this is probably your best chance at it, especially if you don’t have any of the consoles that the game is availiable for. Many people have come to us on this, Mj2 and Very Crazy Penguin, but the first place for the news, as with many things TSS-wise, was reported on the Sonic Stadium Message Board.
Sonic Adventure DX, a recent port of the original Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast, looks set to branch out on the PC as well as Nintendo GameCube. Here are some screens, courtest of GameOnline, a japanese gaming website:
All the features from the GameCube version will be present, such as the Game Gear titles, and it being a PC title will probably be much cheaper than the GC outing, with early screens already showing graphics about 10 times better than the Nintendo ‘Cube effort. Looks like Sonic Team are trying this time. *shot*

You will soon be able to play classic SEGA games on the popular RealPlayer service on PC. An agreement has been signed with RealNetworks to provide official versions of four games via the new RealOne Arcade application. SEGA will have its own specific ‘Sega Channel’ on the service. Sonic 1 is included in the initial lineup, with more Sonic games to come.

More details about the cancelled game Sonic X-Treme has come to light thanks to a new interview with the Mike Wallis, the man in charge of the project at SEGA America. Sonic R is exactly what it says on the tin – a racing game. Only… the ‘Racing’ is abbreviated with an ‘R’ and it’s not in a tin. It sees you take a whole cast of Sonic Team characters out on a racing revolution! A competition is being held on Sonic’s home grounds, and the blue blur just can’t help but notice it. Sonic can’t turn something like this down.
