I got it right with the Sonic Site Awards 2002 – instead of a live broadcast, I pre-recorded the results so people could listen to it online. 😉 And it was a great turnout – people who were nominated showed up in the AIM Chat, and this may have brought about the biggest increase since its return.

Well, what an eventful month. The Sonic Stadium (now beginning to be lovingly abbreviated as TSS real quick) has been relaunched successfully, and without delay, interest has grown for it. Andrew and I both agreed that a team should be secured to maintain the website, as it’s just getting too damn big.

God dammit! This month is being SO stressful to me, both for the website, and in Real Life. The irony is, is that the stress I’m getting in RL is completely unnecessary! Take my college. I’m trying to get into University for next year, and therefore must fill in an admission form and have it sent to an organisation called ‘UCAS’. The College I am at now has a Student Support section, a part of which specialises in helping students with their UCAS forms… Hah. Hah hah bloody ha ha.

Woah. Even though I have (and even stated several times) that The Sonic Stadium’s updates would be practically nil, people still keep visiting. That’s gotta be a good sign – I really need some of those signs now, as the place looks like it’s falling apart. If people stop visiting now, they’ll never get to come to the actual re-launch in October (well, hopefully October).

I now realise this month the importance of having a News Broadcaster on my site. No-one seemed to care when the ‘Stadium had just started, but now that we’ve been offered Zifei’s hosting based on our ‘best site ever’ vision, a News section seems like a pretty integral thing. While making pages, a strange sensation suddenly came over me – I realised how cool this would turn out to be! Woah, everything was going on this month. After trying to figure out a ‘new’ look to incorporate into The Sonic Stadium (once more…), I had been visiting my friend’s MB’s and websites, in particular Sonic News (No, I wasn’t nicking off with anything… that time ^_-). Yeah, my first Christmas update this month – the last for a while, as I found from many people that my Navigation menus were confusing, and the pages were linked incorrectly in very small cases. I was unhappy at that point with my site’s look, so (‘sigh’, you all go) again, I decide to change the cosmetics of the website. Not much happened other than myself trying to revive the Message Board (yet again – this was the fourth time, and was really getting me down). However, I changed the name (from firstly, the ‘Sonic Stadium MB’, to ‘Dreadknux’s Forum’, to ‘Dead Sonic Forum’ [when I lost it for a bit]) to the ‘Sega Sonic Message Board’. The final day of the Sonic Site Awards Phase 1 – where fans submit their own sites (democratically) for nomination into award categories. Now that this stage is over, I deliberately closed the awards page so that no more cheating and submitting could be done. Still, some people managed to take advantage of the Universal Form to get their point across… The Stadium’s bagged well over 2,500 at this time, a truly great achievement.

This month, I spent the time promoting the new release of my Radio Station, with the new name I made up in June – Sega Sonic Radio. I am in the process of making a separate website for it, and I uploaded a lot more MP3s. One step at a time eh? Also, I managed to grab about 300 new midis to slap into the Music Zone. The site is getting more popular by the minute! In this month, the Hit Counter has surpassed 2,000! Again, thanks to everyone for visiting, I will treat you – honest.

I had to defrag my computer, it was annoying, I tell you, so I couldn’t not only use the PC, but defrag was not even working properly! Three days and it hadn’t even reached 2%! I figured I should make up a new project that should involve the whole of the Sonic community. After all, that is what I’m here for. Greed had a part to play in this one. For the ‘new’ look, I needed a server that was bigger than Angelfire’s 50MB. This was where I started to get greedy, and set off to look for servers that had unlimited web space, but without the annoying ad banners. Pop Ups would be OK though. I found many solutions, but they would not offer space for MP3 files which cheesed me off big time.

15th June 2000: Pre-Launch Prelude: I have always been a fan of Sonic. Always. Ever since the very first Sega home console, the Master System, which I bought instead of a Mega Drive. As the PlayStation started to take over, ‘Sonic mania’ died down. I got a Sega Saturn and N64, and enjoyed them both, but the love for Sonic slowly started to dwindle as I grew up.
