Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Trailer Debuts at The Game Awards

Nearly seven months since it wrapped filming, Sonic 2’s trailer has finally arrived, debuting at The Game Awards. The 2-minute-18-second trailer gives us our first taste of what’s in store for Sonic’s big screen debut.

The trailer has got a lot to offer. There are plenty of references to the games, such as Sonic Adventure. The Master Emerald and its shrine is here, along with the Tornado, Tails, and of course, our first look at Knuckles the Echidna.

  1. This is so cool. The movie looks great better than I could have hoped. Loving Idris Elba as Knuckles, even if we only got a small taste of it so far.

  2. Looks like they combined the plots for Sonic 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles for this movie. Wouldn’t be surprised if the second trailer revealed elements from Sonic CD, like maybe two additional characters in the plot.

  3. Really enjoyed that trailer, I’d say it even overshadowed Frontiers’ trailer. It’s a shame that more wasn’t shown of that but I guess they’ve got plenty of time to show more before the game finally comes out late next year.

    1. Oh boy it’s happening all over again: much like back how Sonic Mania easily won people over compared to Sonic Forces, Sonic the Movie 2 might potentially repeat the same thing.

  4. I doubt it would happen, but it’d be pretty neat to see the Death Egg too. Especially since they’re covering Sonic 3 & Knuckles here.
