Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed 3DS Delayed Again to Jan/Feb?

Fans looking forward to the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed may have to wait a little longer if updated retailer listings are anything to go by. The game was already delayed a while back in the US to December 11th, while Europe and Australia have been left hanging with no date and SEGA’s website still saying it’s “Out now”, though retailers have been saying December 6th (AU) and December 7th (EU)… until now.

Amazon and GameStop websites in both the US and Europe have updated their listings for S&ASRT 3DS to various dates ranging from January 25th 2013 to February 15th 2013. Could the game be getting delayed again? With an extreme lack of news and media for this version of the game, it wouldn’t be surprising if the game isn’t ready and needs more development time.

We’ll keep our eyes open for an official update and pass on anything we learn.

    1. Yeah, thank goodness. I have the vita version preordered and can’t wait to take this game on the go!!

    1. It won’t get cancelled, the 3ds version will pull in too much profit for them… plus they have already spent a gigantic amount of money remaking almost the entire game for the 3ds platform (because I guess the engine didn’t transition too well into the 3ds console)

  1. I don’t mind if the game is delayed, if it means it’s going to better as I’m guessing most of us don’t want an unfinished game.
Also it may get more sales if it’s released apart from the console versions as I’m guessing that most people will buy the superior Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U versions instead.
I’m going to buy the Wii U and 3DS versions plus when are we going to see PSVita version of the game.

  2. There’s still no release date change on the EB Games, Australia website, let’s hope it stays that way. And yes, I know Gamespot owns EB Games.

  3. Man, I REALLY hope this isn’t true, this is the only 3DS game I was hoping to get for Christmas…I mean, if it’s not ready to be released, then it’s not ready, I don’t want them releasing a rushed or unfinished game (kinda like SASASR for DS, which I liked, but you could tell development was rushed on it). Really hoping this was just a mistake…

I did send an e-mail to the sonic stadium tips e-mail address, wanted to share that the Sonic Generations soundtrack was released on iTunes! It’s only 2 “volumes”, so it doesn’t have all of the music that the physical 3-disc soundtrack has, but it has all of the important pieces of music.

    1. Thanks! I already left a note in the staff forum of the SSMB for one of our iOS savvy writers to cover it. I let them know you tipped us so they credit you.

      1. Awesome, thanks! And I did just find out that Jun Senoue confirmed via his Twitter account that the Shadow the Hedgehog soundtrack would be released on iTunes as well “sometime very soon”, just as another heads up (I know that probably wouldn’t make the news feed until it’s actually released).

    1. Still says “Out now” on the European and Australian sites. The US site was updated as soon as they announced the delay for that region. If you live in the US, change the flag at the top right to any European territory, like the UK for example, or Australia and you’ll see it says “Out now” for all versions.

  4. 3DS doesn’t have patches, so what is released is final. Better a delay than a “sonic 2006” thing.

  5. …And now the EB Games Australia website are listing the 3DS version for “TBC 2013”, but they’re still saying the PS Vita version is coming on the 30th of November, I doubt that it will though…
