M&S London 2012 3DS US Box Art Revealed

The box artwork for the Nintendo 3DS version of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games has appeared at US retailer Amazon.com. The art is very different to its Wii counterpart and features eight of the game’s characters performing activities from various Olympic events. Bowser holding a dumbbell indicates we will be seeing the weightlifting event in the 3DS version.

Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games will be released on Nintendo Wii November 15th 2011 in the US, November 17th 2011 in Australia and November 18th 2011 in Europe. The Nintendo 3DS version will be released February 14th 2012 in the US, February 9th 2012 in Australia and February 10th 2012 in Europe.

        1. Oh… that makes sense… *sighs* COME AWN SEGA! CONFIRM THE DREAM EVENTS! Seriously, I know the 3DS version is being released later… but come on, they’re leaving it in the dust! Since I personally will be a 3DS buyer this time, this is starting to tick me off how they’re telling us all the cool Wii stuff and not giving us any info on the 3DS version.

  1. It’s really good! I wouldn’t mind if this was the Wii version cover too!

Tails looks like an exited kid who’s just learned how to ride a bike!

  2. Is Amy wearing her clothes from the winter olyplmics? It’s not THAT cold in the UK…

  3. I look at this and see some of them running, not sprinting or jogging, just running.
I see Amy on a horse, Tails on a bike, both great for quick transport.
Then I look at Bowser, holding a pair of weights above his head whilst keeping up with them.

Logically, all he’d have to do is drop those weights and he’d SHOOT OFF INTO THE DISTANCE OMG BOWSER’S FASTER THAN SONIC UMADBROS?

  4. I wasn’t aware that you could use bikes and horses in the sprinting events at the Olympics.

  5. Wow, great cover, but is it just me or does it seem like most the emphasis is on Mario? He is dead center and much larger than Sonic. Why not right? The man sells games.

    1. Hmmmm, yes I noticed that when I first saw it too, maybe SEGA is trying to be nice to Nintendo or something. Well, Mario does have the first name in the title.

  6. This cover looks pretty cool, looks a bit like fan box art, but I like it. The Wii box art seems too reminiscent to the DS Winter games but I like its yellow color… both covers look nice but I’m getting the 3DS version.

  7. No Knuckles, how disappointing. We’ve been seeing a real lack of love for Knuckles lately -_-

  8. Ugh… Look at Mario’s Eyes. Its the eyes that say, Everyone loves me, and your children will love me even more. >:D
