Sonic 4: Episode 2 Confirmed For PC Download

Among all of the Sonic the Hedgehog love dished out to PC gamers today, SEGA has also confirmed in their press release that Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II will be available for PC digital download later this year. Unfortunately, no other information regarding Episode II was given, but we’ll let you know when SEGA releases more details. In the meantime, PC fans can finally experience the first episode of Sonic the Hedgehog 4. You can purchase and download it from Steam now.

Sonic CD Gets Second Playable Character, Out December, Today on GameStop Tablets

SEGA has just given some big news on their blog regarding the upcoming Sonic CD re-release. From today, those who purchase a GameStop branded Android tablet will get Sonic CD as a pre-installed game way ahead of the game’s newly announced December release on all platforms. Finally, SEGA has revealed that Sonic’s two-tailed friend Miles “Tails” Prower will be an unlockable playable character. Players will be able to take control of Tails and his flying ability on their second playthrough of the game.

Sonic CD will be re-released in December on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, PC, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, Android Phones and Windows Phone 7.

SEGA FINALLY Announces Sonic Generations For PC Download, New Screenshots

SEGA has FINALLY announced that Sonic Generations will be available for PC Download, confirming what the world has known for months now. The PC version will be released via PC digital download platforms on the same day the console versions release November 4th 2011. This version will include Steamworks features like Steam Cloud, full stereoscopic 3D support, Achievements and online leaderboards.

SONIC GENERATIONS CONFIRMED FOR PC DIGITAL DOWNLOAD

LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO – 8th October, 2011 – SEGA® Europe Ltd. and SEGA®of America, Inc. are delighted to confirm that Sonic Generations™ will be released on PC and available via SEGA’s partners for PC digital download in November this year. Sonic Generations™ is the ultimate celebration of 20 years of Sonic the Hedgehog and sees SEGA’s iconic mascot racing through a brand new adventure as both the much loved classic 1991 character, and the modern day video game hero he has become today.
Sonic Generations™ for PC digital includes Steamworks features such as Steam Cloud, which allows save files to be stored on Steam’s servers so you can resume your game progress from any PC. As with the other console platforms, Sonic Generations™ will be available to play in full stereoscopic 3D and will contain Achievements and online leaderboards.
Sonic Generations™ will be available via PC digital download as well as Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on 4th November 2011.

Sonic CD Port Officially Announced, Coming This Holiday To Many Platforms

Four days later and the new port of Sonic CD revealed on Monday has been made official. The Mega CD/SEGA CD title will be making its way to many platforms this Holiday season, which include Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, PC Download, Windows Phone and Android Phone.

The game is said to feature widescreen graphics, the original Japanese soundtrack, special iOS features, Xbox LIVE Achievements, PSN Trophies, PC Achievements and more. Interestingly, SEGA also says this game is a prequel to Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1. A trailer, press release and artwork have also been released, which we have shared for you here.

SEGA have today announced yet another collection of their 16 Bit library, this time in the form of SEGA Mega Drive Classics. This collection is a part of their recently announced focus on digital distribution and will be released for the PC Download market via online store Steam among others.
