Sonic Origins is out, and we’ve got a packed day of showing it off! If you’re not busy playing it yourself, if you’ve got any specific questions about the game, or if you just want to hang out and chat about it, join us on Twitch or YouTube as we take requests and experience a bit of Sonic Origins together!

We’ll be checking out all the core features of the game, answering your questions, and taking your requests as we JUST check out the games, settings, and bonuses in the collection! If you plan on getting the game later and don’t want to get spoiled on the new animated sequences, this stream is for you.
Extended Story Mode Gameplay
10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 5 PM UTC (until ???)
If you want to check out the game’s story mode including cutscenes, we’ll be playing as much of it as we reasonably can! No guarantee that we’ll complete all three games, but rest assured we’ll at least be rushing through a bunch.

For the last few years, Sega Sonic Radio has held the odd one or two special broadcasts and events, well this year is no exception on December 31st 2015, they will be doing a special live stream event and fundraiser for Child’s Play.
Full details are as follows.
You thought SSR was dead and gone.
You thought I had forgotten, given up, or just was too busy to do a fifth New Year’s Eve show this year.
You were wrong.
That’s right, boys/girls/etc., New Year’s Fcuking Eve 5.0, our latest iteration of myself streaming video game music over a 24 hour period for the good people at Child’s Play, is now as ready as it will ever be, and will commence on 31 December 2015 at Noon GMT (7AM EST/6AM CST/4AM PST) here on SEGASonic Radio.
In addition to our usual collection of Steam games, I have a few other surprises up my sleeve. What are they you ask? You will just have to wait and see…

With charity streaming the in thing right now, members from Sonic game superplay site The Sonic Center are joining the fun with their own marathon.
Taking place over six days, the TSC Charity Marathon will be playing through a buttload of Sonic games, along with Sonic Team classic Ristar and the NiGHTS series, in aid of the game-oriented children’s charity Child’s Play. If you want to support a good cause, be there and consider donating or spreading the word.
Also taking place on Friday will be open lobbies for Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing and Sonic 4 Episode 2‘s co-op mode – both on Xbox 360 – and Puyo Puyo VS 2, a Windows sim for the series that included Dr Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine. Have one of those games, and you could take part live on stream.
The Sonic Center Charity Marathon starts at 7PM (UK) Tuesday 21st August, and continues to Sunday. For full scheduling, see the stream channel.

UPDATE: Sonic Colours stream is now over./UPDATE END
Destructoid’s Jesse Cortez will be holding a 24 hour-long special video game stream for the Extra Life charity fundraiser today and during the “Speed Run Challenge” segment of the show Cortez will be streaming the Comic-Con demo of Sonic Colours (Wii version), which as you may have seen includes portions of the Tropical Resort, Sweet Mountain and Planet Wisp stages. This part of the show should be played around 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM (PST), which is 01:00am-04:00am GMT in the UK, so we advise you guys get some sleep during the day if you want to join in. All Cortez asks of you in return for this event is that you pay a donation, which will go to the UC David Children’s Hospital.
Here’s a statement about the event from Jesse Cortez himself:
Hi I’m Jesse Cortez and this year I’m raising money and awareness for my local Children’s Miracle Network hospital, UC Davis Children’s Hospital.
On October 16th, 2010 I’ll attempt to play video games for 24-hours straight, and I’ve asked you to come by in hopes that you’ll support me by giving just $1.00 per hour ($24 total).
Your donation is tax-deductible and 100% of your gift goes to help heal sick kids, here in Sacramento, CA.
This Fall, my fellow Extra Life gamers are going to make miracles happen for kids. I can’t do that without your support. My goal is to raise $5,000.00.
This is DtoidSF’s official gamer account! Let’s raise some money for charity!
Thank you for your time, support, and participation.
Will you be taking part? Let us know in the comments.
