What are you going to be doing this weekend? See a (Sonic) movie? Play some (Sonic) games? Go to a (Sonic) meetup? Well, if you live in the US why not go for some (Sonic) sushi? Japanese restaurant Kura Revolving Sushi Bar has announced a collaboration with SEGA where fans can win some cool Sonic-themed prizes.
Dine-in customers can participate in the Sonic mania by simply purchasing a load of sushi. For every five plates ordered, a special animation plays featuring the blue blur doing his thing. If a customer orders fifteen plates, they win a randomised prize including lanyards, badge holders and decorative tape.
Prizes are also available for takeaway customers, if the whole COVID-19 pandemic is causing a little worry. Most Kura Sushi restaurants are, at this time, only serving for takeaway customers anyway, so it’s nice to know that you don’t have to miss out on the Sonic action in this way.
The collaboration will last until the merch runs out, which Kura estimates will be around September. So, you know, as they say and everything… ‘gotta go fast’. Or something. You can check out your nearest Kura Sushi place by clicking here, and there’s an extra page related to Coronavirus response here if you’re interested.
Many thanks to Ellie S for tipping us off to this news!
Aw crap, there isn’t one near me!
Well…none anywhere close to me…
There isn’t one in my area, unfortunately. 🙁
