Still feeling super-nostalgic for the 1993 Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon series? Well get ready, because it sounds like DiC is not quite done re-releasing the animation on DVD, with more box sets apparently on the way before the end of the year.
SatAM fansite ‘Fans United for SatAM’ recently wrote a letter to DiC Entertainment asking whether there will be more DVD releases of the show coming. Company rep Don Gold confirmed with FUS’ Sonique Hedgehog with the reply below.
“Hi. Yes, there will be more Sonic DVDs coming. Hopefully by the end of the year.”
Sonique followed up by asking for clarification on which series the DVDs will be based on – Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (AoStH), Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM’s official title) or Sonic Underground – and Gold responded with “from Sonic the Hedgehog”.
That’s all we got so far. No further details were revealed, including which episodes will be on these new DVD releases. Actually, we don’t even know if these are heading to the UK at all or if it’s just US (although there are hints that some DVD sets are coming to us soon). As soon as we hear more, we’ll let you guys know.
