Earlier at the tail-end of September, we reported on a leak that indicated that Sonic the Hedgehog was going to be an unlockable extra character in Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD! And thanks to a data-mine, we now know that’s true! What we didn’t realize, however, was that it would feature Sonic’s “classic” design!
Modder Nikki posted her data mining of the Japanese demo of the game on Twitter, and found some textures for Sonic’s HUD, featuring his adorable classic face and a golden ring, implying that Sonic might not be quite as “bananas” about collecting stray fruit as he is about picking up jewelry off the ground.

Because he won’t go the fuck away, that’s why. He’s been constantly around since Generations and that was all the way back in 2011. We don’t need two Sonics all of the time.

Classic sonic is beloved and sells well, blame Sega their the ones that cant seem to get modern sonic right and keep giving him a bad track record. besides adventure 1,2, Heroes, Generations, advance trilogy and colours. Modern sonic hasnt really had any good titles to rave about and even those ones arent up there with sonic 1,2,3, knuckles and Mania.
plus Generations, advance trilogy and colours was heavily inspired on the classic sonic days.
If it weren’t for classic sonic their wouldn’t be a franchise to begin with.

Classic Sonic? Really? I’m sick of this… Do they just shove Classic Sonic into everything because Mania did well? Do we really even need TWO Sonic’s going at the same time? I liked it better when Classic Sonic was just past Sonic and didn’t need to show up again, rather than this other dimension stuff that’s going on now.
