SEGA Shows off Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020’s Arcade Edition

SEGA has given us our first good look at the Mario & Sonic 2020 Tokyo Olympics arcade game. The screenshots and video show off a few events, including track, rock climbing, discus throwing, and long-jumping.

They’ve released a video on the game’s Japanese website and over two dozen screenshots through the Japanese game news websites Gamer JP and 4Gamer.

The video, which we’ve embedded below, was ripped from the Japanese website by Youtuber SonicWindBlue.

The screenshots appear to give us some hint of how the game will control. For instance, mashing the red and blue buttons on the arcade machine will make Sonic run during the 100 meter event.

There are also screens of the arcade machine being demonstrated. The machine appears to utilize three buttons, and also features a place to stand and hand rails, similar to Mario & Sonic Rio’s arcade cabinet.
