Tangle and Whisper To Get Their Own Mini Series This Summer

Tangle the Lemur and Whisper the Wolf, two original characters from IDW’s Sonic the Hedgehog comic series, will be going on their own solo adventure in a mini series coming this summer. These two characters will be the first non-game Sonic characters to get a mini series since Archie Sonic’s Princess Sally series back in 1995. The mini series itself will be the first Sonic comic mini series since Sonic Quest was printed in 1996.

The mini series was revealed in this month’s IDW solicits, which revealed an issue that will contain a sneak peak of the series, Sonic the Hedgehog: Tangle & Whisper #0.

The mini series’ plot and creative team are currently unknown. The prequel comic is currently slated for April 24, 2019. We’ll be sure to bring you all the latest!

  1. While I’m not as crazy about these characters as other fans are, they ARE still pretty popular so it’s not too bad of an idea to try and give them more room to be fleshed out without any primary characters around to show them up. With the likelyhood of seeing the Freedom Fighters of yore getting smaller and smaller each day, we may as well get more acquainted with our new original cast.

  2. The first two new characters on Sonic’s side, and already they get their own spin-off.

I’m going to say the same thing I said about Waluigi’s Taco Stand.

More exposure and character development is needed before you can get to that point.

  3. And the best way to get the exposure and character development is… a spin-off mini-series where they’re not overshadowed by the extensive game cast. Which is exactly what they’re getting.
