Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Gets Wii U Nintendo Selects Re-Release

Surprise! Nintendo and SEGA have apparently re-released mascot racer Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed in North America, with the budget ‘Nintendo Selects’ branding slapped all over it.

This was spotted out of the blue in a local Game Shack store in Toronto, costing $30 CAD as per Nintendo Selects tradition. While there have been many first-party Nintendo titles added to the Wii U ‘Selects’ range, this appears to be the first third-party game added to the roster – and clearly with no prior announcement, either.

It wouldn’t be the first time a game has been added to Nintendo’s Selects range without fanfare though. Some time ago, Frozen: Olaf’s Quest by Gamemill was quietly added to the 3DS line-up too. Although to be honest, we’d think SEGA would make a bit more noise about a game starring one of their key mascots.

We took a photo of the front of the box above, so you can see for yourself; we didn’t take a picture of the back cover because it was no different to the standard Wii U release. Worth looking out for if you’re an avid collector – happy hunting!
