Sonic the Hedgehog is now on trains. I’m really not sure what else can be said apart from ‘We gots ourselves a new Hype Train to catch’ whenever the next Sonic game ends up being announced.

This very cute 1/10 scale railcar is running at the brand new SEGA Lalaport in Fujimi, Japan. The attraction known as the ‘Sega Sonic Railway’ allows visitors to ride in the Sonic themed engine seen above on a miniature railway. I’m not afraid to say that I want a ticket. Badly.

A roughly translated transcript of the accompanying post is as follows:

Today ‘ Sega et lalaport fujimi “and Sega Sonic train ‘ et et lalaport fujimi ‘ in the new open! Sonic design 1/10 sizeminitrain both adults and children can drive yourself!http://sega.eng.mg/68edf http://sega.eng.mg/64914

Japan. Please keep being awesome.

  1. That train doesn’t look very happy, with it’s ‘meh’ face.

Other than that, this is pretty awesome!

    1. I prefer a “meh” face to Thomas the Tank Engine’s perpetual stare and smile. That was just…terrifying to me as a kid, and still kinda is…

Gotta say, it’s a pretty adorable train, though!

  2. 7.8/10
    Too much rails 😀
Honestly though, I think this is awesome and a total joy for the really young ones! 🙂

  3. i did not know that they make a train of sonic i wonder if nintendo can do the same for mario anyway i dont know when are they gonna announce the next sonic game but my guess is i think they are gonna announce it in june at E-3 i can tell by it but i know SEGA is not gonna put sonic on other consoles for a while but i guess the PC games works for me anyway still i dont know if they are playing a trick on us about not making sonic games on other consoles like sony and nintendo and some fans believe that sonic runners might be the only sonic game of the year and also some of them are disappointed because its not a Wii U title i dont know if thats the only game of the year or maybe put the new game on sony and nintendo consoles well i guess we will see what happens next after april.

    1. no, Sonic games are NEVER announced at E3. Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric was announced I think in April-ish, and almost every Sonic game I ever played has been announced in May a month before E3, then at E3 they show the trailer.

        1. The first trailer for Sonic Boom came out February 6th, 2014.
We are probably not getting a new Sonic Game this year other than Sonic Runners.
