Online Commerce Retail Group Now Stocking Sonic Generations Collector’s Edition in the UK

UPDATE: The Sonic Generations Collector’s Edition has now sold out on both platforms across the group.

Following yesterday’s report, the Sonic Generations Collector’s Edition has been found available at four other UK online retailers, who all make up retailer group Online Commerce. 1. I’ve gotta be honest, I’ve never heard of any of these websites…
But I’m sure they are all perfectly safe and trustworthy… right?!

  2. Interesting that SEGA have given the deal to websites that no-one has heard of instead of Game or HMV. Wonder why they did that?

  3. Don’t be afraid , I ordered from blahdvd the game Red Dead Redemption and their service is excellent.

    1. They’re definitely legit. I’ve been browsing these sites for the past few years comparing prices. I’ve not used them myself yet, but I hear good things from those who have used Base and DVD at http://www.hotukdeals.com. The other two are owned by the same company, so I expect they’re just as good.

  4. Wow I’ve never heard of these sites before O.o I think I’ll try Base.com Right I’m order tomorrow and hopefully I won’t miss out again gaah i might make the account later or tomorrow I won’t waste anymore time tomorrow I’ll pre-order….need to be quick I’m so nervous o_o

  5. HA I GOT MINE ON AMAZON DAY ONE FOR 85.94 ON amazon and then the 10 pounds price cut to Amazon’s £75.94

    dont pay 99 pounds

    1. There’s currently no other option, so anyone wanting it now will have to pay the £99.99. Amazon’s all out of stock and these are the only other retailers selling it right now. Hopefully another retailer will start listing it, and at a cheaper price. Until then though, this is the only UK option.

      1. Honestly, 10 pounds extra for getting it now after waiting so long without making your move is a small penalty. At least smaller than not being able to get it at all!

  6. Grrraaggghhh! XD I placed an order with Amazon.de the moment I found out they were shipping to the US, but then I got cold feet about ordering from a non-English-speaking retailer, so I cancelled and made a pre-order with Mighty Ape (once they got more stock in), for about $30 more (the price of peace of mind).

Now I find out about this, which, while not as cheap as Amazon, seems to be less expensive than Mighty Ape. Not sure if I really wanna go through the trouble of cancelling and making yet ANOTHER pre-order. Maybe I should just settle for what I’ve got.

    1. If you do do it again, make sure you have it confirmed with one of these sites before cancelling the other, or you could end up with nothing =(

  7. I have a question can I just go to a store and get the collectors edition or do I have to pre-order it?

    1. If you’re in the UK, there are currently no retailers offering the Collector’s Edition in-store, so you’ll have to order it online. If any retailers do offer it in-store between now and before the item ships (likely 2-3 days before release day), you can always cancel your online pre-order.

  8. People I just remembered about something , if you’re gonna import it from BlahDVD they’ll cut 15% of the price because of taxes….if you don’t believe me than just try to order and in the end they’ll show you the real price and the option to place order….ENJOY!

    1. I’ll repost one of my comments from further up.

      1. Okay. I just don’t to spend money then not get it you know?
Thank you. I’ll put in some more research.

    1. OMG!!! :O

So its true! Sonic Fans are faster than Sound. They probably copied this from Sonic!

Man please say you got this!

      1. I wish I could but Unfortunately I’ve missed out again 🙁 this close into pre-ordering….

It’s wsiful thinking that there will be anothere retailer selling this but I doubt it 🙁 My Electricity cut off earlier for a while which means I couldn’t pre-order sooner…

        1. Aw, that sucks 🙁 I’ll keep my eye out for any more UK retailers that might get it in. In the meantime, maybe you could import it?

        2. Aww… Man that sucks 🙁

I will search too. Hope more retailers will stock it. Oh and there is still Amazon.de. Oh and domt worry. It was confirmed in preview that you can change language in game to English.

          1. Thank you Shadzter and Hunter297

I will have a look at the list again and I will also check out Amazon.de too…

          2. @Shadow: PS3 games are region-free, but most Xbox 360 games aren’t. Some aren’t, but most are. We don’t yet know if Sonic Generations will be region-free on Xbox 360.

What country do you live in? If you live in the PAL region, then Xbox 360 copies ordered from Australia or Germany will work fine on your console. If you live in the US and the game doesn’t turn out to be region-free, then you’ll need to pick up a US copy cheap. It’s worth it for this awesome Collector’s Edition in my opinion. Toys R Us and Amazon are selling it for about $40.

  9. @anyone

Please help. Is the AU DVD region locked? If so, could you play it on an Xbox 360? And what is the gold ring, I heard it is neck sized and is actual gold. Thank you 🙂

    1. Most manuals feature different languages, but we don’t know what they’re going to do with Sonic Generations. As for the CD and DVD, you can see in the pic that there are about 4 different languages in their cardboard case.

  10. Whaaat?!? OH NO! Is there any chance of the dvd being region free? And what about the game, if you can chang the language won’t it be region free?

    1. I guess it’s possible SEGA could make the DVD region-free. As for the game, we don’t know yet. You can change the language, yes, but that doesn’t mean it’s confirmed to be region-free. A lot of region locked games also have that feature. Most Xbox 360 games are region locked, while some aren’t. We’ll just have to wait and see, unless SEGA can give us that information soon, as I imagine the game will be going into mass production now or soon.

  11. I have to go to sleep now. I’m not too excited about the German set, but if it’s still available by tomorrow morning, I’ll pre-order it. Hey, I’ll probably be able to cancel it in case the UK sets become available again.

I’ve got my eyes on that ring, book and documentary. 🙂

      1. So even thigh Xbox language can be changed it’s region locked? I was just going to ask about the computer, thanks 🙂

        1. That recent German video preview indicates that the language can be changed in the game’s settings. We don’t yet know if the game will be region locked, but most Xbox 360 games are. Australian DVD’s are region 4, so will likely only play in region 4 or region free DVD players. I don’t know if all PC’s are region-free DVD players. It’s possible SEGA could make the DVD region-free, though. As for the music CD, I’m sure all music CD’s are region-free.

          1. PC drives are typically region locked, but the region can be changed a set number of times through a menu, or can be made region-free through firmware hacking.

  12. This is certainly become a hot item… I just hope there aren’t any grey market sellers hoping to make a profit from desperate fanboys.

    1. No more Generations news at the moment. Gaming news always tends to come out Monday-Friday. Things always go quiet over the weekend because most companies don’t work during that time.

  13. GOOD NEWS! 365games.co.uk is going to be stocking the Collector’s Edition. They haven’t opened pre-orders yet, but if you give them your e-mail address, they’ll let you know when they’re available to pre-order.

    PS3:

I’ll post a news update when they’re available to order too.

      1. Yes 🙂
“We now offer free delivery to Australia, New Zealand, USA and Canada. We also provide the following services:
EU £0.99 per item (includes Ireland).
Rest of world £0.49 per item.
If your country cannot be selected during checkout we are unable to deliver.
Please note that certain items cannot be delivered outside of the UK mainland because of their size or weight. All delivery times are averages and not guarantees.”
        http://www.365games.co.uk/delivery

We’ll have to wait and see whether the Collector’s Edition will be one of the items they would consider too big/heavy, though.

        1. Lets hope everyone will manage to get it. 🙂

          @C.J
You better get it this time. We are counting on you bro 😉

    1. Thank you This really helps but… I don’t want to be rude but I just want to make sure, are you sure they still have it in stock or is like Amazon and everyother site saying. give your email for updates but they are actually out of stock, please reply, Thank you.

      1. @Shadzter

OMG THANK YOU 😀 I BETTER GET ORDERING RIGHT NOW!

        @SA3 2011

I PROMISE I WON’T THIS IS ANOTHER CHANCE SO HOPEFULLY I HAVEN’T MISSED OUT 😀

        1. Just read the message again sorry about that I will pre-order as soon as they have it in Thanks again Shadzter 🙂

          1. :O Another Retailer? Whoops I already made an account for 365games no matter it will still be useful if I miss this one again

I’m gonna make another account 😀 and pre-order later tonight THANK YOU SO MUCH SHADZTER MUCH APPRECIATED 🙂

          2. @C.J: No probs! 🙂 You’re best to pre-order from ShopTo while they’re available and then if 365games turns out to be cheaper, you can always cancel the ShopTo pre-order and pre-order at 365games.

          3. @Shadzter I’ll pre-order it tomorrow early as possible seems I still need more money but I won’t waste time 🙂

          4. @C.J: You don’t need the money in your account until a few days before release when it ships. You don’t need it in there now to place a pre-order.

  14. I pre-ordered mine from Base.com and got an email confirming it. The status of my order says ‘pending’. Does this mean my copy is secure and will be delivered to me?

    1. Should be fine. I think it just means it’s held as a pre-order and is waiting to be processed when the stock comes in closer to release.

  15. http://www.graingergames.co.uk also stocks the PS3 version of the Collector’s Edition. It is 98 GBP and cannot be shipped outside of the UK unfortunately due to weight and rarity of the Collector’s Edition . Xbox version ran out of stock in the last few days.
