Summer of Sonic Facebook Event Emerges – Register Your Interest

There’s only a few months to go until the biggest Sonic the Hedgehog fan party hits London – the Summer of Sonic 2011! Hosted by The Sonic Stadium, Sonic Wrecks, SEGA and the Sonic fan community, we’re working hard to make this year’s event the best ever!

If you’ve been following the rather odd social media teases AAUK and myself have posted (on Twitter, check out #pigeonpaniczone), then you’ll know that we’re very close to announcing a whole bunch of details. You may have also noticed that The Summer of Sonic has its own Facebook Group. Today, we have posted an Event on that group inviting people to this year’s show – we need to do this in order to get a good idea of the kind of numbers we can expect this year.

If you definitely plan on attending the Summer of Sonic 2011 in London this year (venue TBC, but it WILL be in London, and easily accessible from Central London, so please do not fear about transport difficulties if arranging hotels), then we invite you to respond. If you can’t make it this year, or do not wish to, then please also let us know on the same page. The bigger response we get will allow us to finalise important details, and will mean we can accommodate as many people as we can on the day.

What’s a Summer of Sonic event without an after-party of some kind as well? Because it’s my birthday on the 30th June, we are taking the opportunity to celebrate both after the day is over and done with. This event will be for people aged 18+ only, as there will be alcohol there and various other kinds of drunken debauchery no doubt. Similarly, the after-party is dependant on people turning up, so let us know your attendance plans on its specific Event page.

See you in a few months!

  1. You can count me in. As I said on the facebook thing, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.

  2. Im trying to get a ticket to Britian with my family for this. (Ive never been out of the States before, im a little nerveous.

  3. Don’t worry too much Core. This is only to get a rough headcount. It’s not an official method of registering your attendance. We will take the results and round upwards to accommodate for people without Facebook and those who might just turn up on the day regardless. 🙂

  4. Wow. It’s almost that time of year again? Yikes. But cool! Can’t wait to see what 2011’s SoS will be like! I FEEL like 2011 is a bigger year for Sonic than even 2010 but that’s probably because it’s his 20th year. lol

How come the Sonic Genesis part 2 issue comic cover hasn’t been posted yet? o.O

  5. I’m new to this site, hopefully I can get some money and bring a few friends. by the way is there an introduction section on the forums somewhere?

  6. Meh, I go to England on July.. so I’m missing it..
I can show my interest, but my interest won’t make me pay 300€ for a earlier plane.

  7. I’ve put down my interest on facebook and as long as I have enough money for a hotel I’m down for the afterparty. I don’t drink alcohol but I can be the guy who has all the fruit drinks.

How old you going to be Dreadknux? Need to think of some kind of Sonic related present XD.

  8. If there was ever an event like this in the US, despite the fact I’ve never gone to a con outside my state, I would SO go to one…
