Media retailer HMV are now listing the PC version of Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing for pre-orders at just £12.99, currently they are the only retailer listing this version which will be released on PC DVD ROM in Europe and PC Download in the U.S.

Looking at the listed release date, HMV have it down for 31st March 2010 which is a week later than the 26th March 2010 release date listed for the other versions on their site and many other retailers sites.

So could we be seeing the PC version released a week late? If so, why? Only time will tell, we’ll let you know when and if more information becomes available.

  1. I wouldn’t credit HMV as a reliable source if I were you. Remember those Sonic hoodies up for pre-order back in the summer? Well 5-6 weeks ago I went in store to order one and put a £5 deposit down and they said they’d ring me when it came in. I never heard anything. Yesterday I went into the same store to ask why and according to them my order had never been placed for an item that never existed!!

I’m not crediting them as a reliable source. I’ve put a question mark in the title and at the end of my article I’ve put “So COULD we be seeing the PC version released a week late?”

Why did you put a £5 deposit down? I’ve pre-ordered many things from their store and never had to put a deposit down unless it was for a console like the £10 I had to put down for a DSi pre-order. I pre-ordered the Modern Warfare 2 Hardened Edition which cost £69.99 and didn’t even have to put a deposit down for that.

  3. Just a random nitpick, but I’m really starting to wonder if the DS version has been scrapped, cos we havn’t seen or heard anything about the DS version (No info, no screenshots, no nothing)

“OSV: Finally, what can we expect for the DS version? How are you cramming all that content into the handheld cart?

Steve: Want to play on the move, we’ve also crammed all these sounds and more into the DS version. As we’ve got to squash all this onto a cartridge, we’ve enlisted the services of Allister Brimble to compose us unique MIDI versions of all the games tunes . You won’t believe what he’s done with it. My personal favourite is “Can you Feel the Sunshine,” a track I didn’t think would ever work in MIDI format, but amazingly it does. Again – the byword for the game is “How much SEGA can we legally squeeze into one game” and I think Allister has done us proud.”

Umm, well they told me put one down and suggested £5 as an amount. They also said I could pay for the whole thing there and then, thank god I didn’t!

  6. Think of it this way.
It’s not really a bad thing…they just need more time I suppose to fix up any glitches of sorts…

I mean…they could’ve done that with Sonic ’06 in your favors, hmm?
