In news that surprises absolutely nobody, it seems that a bunch of people are already cheating in the newly-released Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II game on Gamecube. The game only came out last week in Japan and yet Sonic Team has already received hundreds of complaints from players about the situation.
Apparently there is a bug in the game that lets ne’er do-wells duplicate weapons, gain an infinite amount of money and also replicate equipment, giving them an edge over other players.
PSO has had a history of cheaters, even on the Dreamcast, so this isn’t a new phenomenon. Hopefully Sonic Team will be able to sort this all out and punish the accounts responsible.
