Gamecube Network Adaptors and PSO Episode I & II Pinned for Fall Release

Looks like we’re all one step closer to enjoying Phantasy Star Online on the Gamecube, as Nintendo has today revealed its plans for the console’s network adaptors in the US.

Both the dial-up and the broadband adaptors for the Gamecube will be on sale this fall, according to Nintendo. They’ll sell for $34.95 each, and the first product to be compatible with either will be – you guessed it – Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II. Which also means that, finally, we can expect to see the release of the multiplayer RPG about the same time!

Gamespot reports that Nintendo is not planning to charge third party developers a royalty fee for producing online content for the Gamecube, in a move that seems designed to encourage more networked play – so far PSO seems to be about the only game to support it.

Still, just a few more long months to wait until we can enjoy Sonic Team’s latest and greatest on Nintendo’s machine!
