Virtua Fighter Spinoff Announced for Gamecube

AM2 has announced at Sega’s Game Jam 2 event in Japan that a new Virtua Fighter game is in development for Gamecube.

Temporally dubbed Virtua Fighter Quest, the game will commemorate the series’ 10-year anniversary by including all the characters from the franchise. However, the series creator Yu Suzuki has expressed it will not strictly be a fighting game, despite the name, but will rather incorporate strong adventure and RPG elements.

Virtua Fighter Quest, also referred to as Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary Special Project, is sketched in for a release in 2003.
