The Xbox 360 version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has quietly become a best seller in Europe and joined the Xbox 360 Classics range. According to Sainsbury’s Entertainment, the Classics edition was released October 10th of this year.

The official Xbox website features the following description for the Classics range:

Some games are born great, but only the best become classics.

That’s what the Xbox Classics range is all about; legendary titles, the toughest heroes and heroines, the best online experience with Xbox Live – and all for an amazing price.

Sonic Gets Unleashed at a Cheaper Price in the PS3 Essentials Range

Together with the announcement of the new super slim PS3 model, Sony has announced the first wave of PS3 Essentials titles joining the new PS3’s launch in Europe next week on September 28th. PS3 Essentials is a budget range of some of the best games released on PS3 over the years and Sonic fans will be pleased to see Sonic Unleashed and SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection (which includes Sonic’s Mega Drive outings) among the first games to be re-released. These and all other PS3 Essentials games will be available at retail for €19.99 (just over £16 in the UK) making them perfect stocking fillers this Christmas.

Tesco ‘Price Blitz’ Cuts Cost on Sonic Software

The UK based supermarket chain ‘Tesco’ is currently running a large promotion that it calls ‘Price Blitz’.

The promotion aims to bring a wide range of audio visual entertainment to the consumer at budget prices. On offer are: CD’s, DVD’s, PC software and Videogames, each category is then grouped into a different price range. Understandably the quality and production number of these items will affect their price.

Worthy of note (and the whole purpose of this report) are the Sonic items included in the offer. If you’ve been deterred from buying Sonic’s PC outings or DVD instalments of Sonic Underground, because of the price, then worry no more. New Sonic Heroes Budget Price

Sonic Heroes has finally been released at a budget price, also becoming a “Player’s Choice” title for the Nintendo GameCube. The game has been re-released for $19.99 for GameCube, PS2 and Xbox.

“The tremendous retail success of Sonic Heroes across all platforms makes it clear that everyone’s favorite hedgehog is still at the top of his game,” said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Entertainment Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. “And this value-priced re-issue is just the beginning; Sonic has a handful of other big surprises in store for gamers throughout 2005.”
