Sonic Station Live today featured the first appearance of Sonic the Hedgehog in CGI VTuber form, and voiced by Japanese Sonic the Hedgehog voice actor Jun-Ichi Kanemaru!
In the short appearance during the Japanese live stream, Sonic thanks everyone watching for joining in with the celebrations – and you can watch the message below;
Sonic’s transition to VTuber was hinted at in a previous interview with art director Kazuyuki Hoshino.
We look forward to seeing more of Sonic the VTuber in the near future!
They’re really are pushing hard sonic this anniversary, huh?.
I think this came into fruition because someone from Sonic Team is fond of watching Vtubers playing sonic games.
I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever laughed harder at something in my life.
Godspeed, Sega. Godspeed.
Little curious on what games he will play, obviously his own games but I wonder if any other Sega games will get any screentime.
He could do lets watches of Sonic cartoons and other sonic related videos as well, witch sounds like fun. I hope they do a EN Sonic Vtuber soon though and if they ever to a red of the comics.
I don’t know why, but the style of the animation for Sonic VTuber kinds resembles his animation style in the upcoming web-series Colors: Rise of the Wisps. Don’t you think?
My thoughts exactly! Interesting
I hope he collabs with Korone
Damnit. Now I can’t decide who’s the better Sonic VA.
Kanemaru Junichi or Roger Craig Smith.
