3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Releases on July 22nd in Japan

So now we finally have news about 3D Sonic 2 after its announcement back in April! We have the Japanese website, and thanks to Nintendaan, we have the info that the game will support co-op play, but each player will need the game.

Nintendaan was also kind enough to record the trailer and snap the screenshots from the eShop page as seen below!

  1. I thought sonic 2 3D meant a 3D remake but it’s just another port I started with the 3D series even though I grew up with the classics I don’t remember them with nostalgia so another 2D game is so boring 3D with SA controls is all i ask

    1. One thing to keep in mind port or not is that these games take a tremendous amount of work to convert to 3D.
Even though its not what you hoped for, hopefully your aware of this.
( I was not saying you didn’t know this already I was just making sure you didn’t think it was a lazy port )

    1. Dunno, tablet version seems like the superior one. With new content, like Knuckles, refined engine, online multiplayer, and Hidden Palace Zone.

  2. Heh, it’s coming out on my birthday! Too bad I won’t be able to buy it though. Lol

  3. I’ve heard of a new gameplay mode for the game called Ring Keep. Players begin a level with 10 rings free of charge. If you take a hit, you only lose half of your rings instead of all of them.
