ASRT’s Fact Sheet Details New Features & Hints New Characters?

Just over a week ago, Sega confirmed that Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed would be headding to mobile devices and that the game wouldn’t just be a port of the console or handheld versions.

Few details or specifics were given, however, Sega have released a fact sheet which does go into some details as to what new features will be included as well as one interesting note about characters.

You can find the full fact sheet at the end of this update, however, the most interesting points are as follows.

Social/Facebook connectivity: You can see your friends facebook pictures on the courses as you play.

Daily & Weekly challenges: odds are these will be similar to Sonic Dash/Jumps challenges.

But here is the most interesting point. The game has only 10 characters to start with. Which is in line with the console versions, now, aside from the PC exclusives which were included from the start or via updates, every other character could be unlocked via world tour mode (exceptions are Alex Kidd and Metal Sonic). But the Fact Sheet claims many more All-Stars coming soon! Suggesting that there will be more characters included at a later date?

  1. I believe that it just means you start with 10 of the racers, and the other characters will be added at a later date (hopefully not as in-game purchases); unfortunately I would highly doubt that there’ll be ones added that have not appeared in other versions of the game.

Whatever happened to Sumo Digitals poll in regards to a new character? I know Hatsune Miku won (god I hope its not her added), and I remember Steve Lycette saying they were working on it. I would find it hard to believe they’d add anything now to the game, as its been a year since the initial release date.

    1. Sumo’s been pretty cool with giving out free characters in the iOS version of The first All Stars, so I doubt we’ll habe to pay real money. They’ll probably be already established ones as you said thought.

And they’ve made plenty of chatacters post launch… For PC. =P They still claim one of the characters on that list got green-lit by Sega and won’t be a PC exclusive, but like you said, that was months ago. I’m having doubts myself.

    2. Given that the smartphone version will be horrendously cheaper than the console one, I wouldn’t be surprised if everything not included in the original purchase will cost you.

  2. Also is it going to be team fortress characters in Sonic and all stars racing Transformed on IOS or Android to.

  3. This may be some good news for me since I have an android tablet. I may do some online races if I can.
