Last week we brought you news that former Sonic the Comic publisher Egmont had signed a deal with Sega to publish new material. However, no details were given as to what they would be producing.
Well, we can now reveal the details.
A new Sonic the Hedgehog magazine will go on sale next month (yes you read that right!), no details as to the content were given, however it’s likely to follow along the lines of activity magazine as apposed to ‘comic book’ style.
In addition to this, from May 2014, Egmont will also publish the following.
- A Joke Book. £4.99
- Super Sonic Poster Book which includes activity pages. £6.99
- Secrets of Sonic the Hedgehog: A fact-file handbook with information and stats on Sonic and his friends, character profiles, background information and tactics and tips for playing the games. £5.99
- Sonic the Hedgehog Sticker Mania: Featuring Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and other characters. £6.99
Egmont intends to publish the magazine and the books in UK & Eire, Australia and New Zealand.
We’ll update you with prices and details to the products as and when we get them.

Boooo! (I expected this, though…)
Sticker book sounds nice, even if everything else is a bit eh. Maybe the Secrets of book, depending on what that contains.
I dunno, it’s a mixed bag of stuff, but not completely awful, actually.
Thing is, I would go for a Sonic Sticker book, as I quite like sticker-y books xD
Activity books.. called it!
AND AMERICA GET KICKED IN THE FACE AGAIN! lol
Honestly though, this is something that Europe and those other areas do deserve to themselves so I really don’t have that big a deal with it. I really wish I could get that Joke book though… and the character book…. it really does stink to be an American Sonic fan right now…. 🙁
To be honest though.
Odds are if you like in America or anywhere else in the world, it will not be hard to get these.
That’s nice to know. Thank you.
Wow, Bean- I mean Jet is still alive! Wonder if Sega is planning on releasing another Sonic Riders because is really weird to see him in the cover but not Rouge, Cream or Espio.
Or silver.
Just when my wall was filled with posters…this
I SHALL GET ALL OF THESE BOOKS!
That no good Birthday party skipping cat gets to be on the cover?
lol, a joke book.
And as always North American Sonic fans miss out once more unless you order online….that’s the only way people here could get their hands on them, but then it all depends on the site itself rather or not they ship overseas. Unfortunately, not many people such as myself trust having extreme personal information such as bank or Credit card online where anyone could compromise it so yeah it does totally blow for us North American fans. I wish we could get this kind of stuff in our stores instead of getting them online!
