Nintendo released their new Nintendo 2DS system last week, and the company is very confident that Sonic will help boost sales of the new budget-priced system with his new game Sonic Lost World.

“There is a lot of opportunity to engage with the younger audience on Sonic with the new entry-level Nintendo 2DS console. From launch to post launch we’ll be focused on kids,” said Nintendo product manager Dani Robinson.

“Peak season this year is without doubt a big celebration of Nintendo franchises and Sonic sits high on every platform gamers list of ‘must play’ titles.”

Ads for Sonic Lost World will be played at cinemas alongside Turbo 3D and Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2. A TV campaign on Nickelodeon, Disney and Boomerang started October 14th and will run for three weeks.

  1. That’s a lot of advertising (for a Sonic game). Either Sega’s really confident in this game, or Nintendo’s helping pay for/make the ads.

    1. I rememebr seeing alot of Shadow ads
      Unleashed had alot of adds
      Generations had alot of ads
Colours had fair amout of adds
even 2006 had alot of ads

Whats the so different this time?

      1. Sonic 06 had some cool ads. My favorite one is where a farmer is doing some farm shit and Sonic speeds by. It was all cinematic. Badass.

      2. I was sure that Colors, and definitely Generations, had some of the most publicity I’d ever personally seen for Sonic. I mean I actually saw a Sonic Generations poster at a GameStop. But I haven’t even seen a TV commercial for Lost World yet…
