Hey, you! Are you going to be in Los Angeles next week? Video Games Live, the awesome orchestral extravaganza dedicated to video game music, is going to be playing at the Nokia Theatre on June 6th – and thanks to our friends Tommy Tallarico and SEGA of America, The Sonic Stadium has five pairs of tickets to give away!
These tickets are extra-special, though. Not only do you get to see the show with a friend or loved one, but you get VIP backstage party passes which will also give you instant front-of-the-line access to the post-show meet and greet! Which will involve Sonic Team leader Takashi Iizuka among other “special guests” from SEGA.
We have been to Video Games Live before, and met show host Tommy Tallarico a number of times during the London shows. Sonic fans will know of Tommy from his work in Sonic & the Black Knight, and is also behind such game soundtracks as Metroid Prime and Earthworm Jim.
The Sonic the Hedgehog series will be one of the franchises played out by the 110-piece symphony and choir at the Nokia Theatre.

Enter the Contest
Time is tight – the event will be taking place next Wednesday – so we will keep this contest simple and to the point. All we want you to do is answer the following question:
Which non-SEGA video game soundtrack would be a good fit for a Sonic the Hedgehog game, and why?
Send your entry (no longer than 200 words) to our contest email address – competition@sonicstadium.org – before 18:00 BST on Friday 1st June 2012. Remember, you must already be going to, or live in, Los Angeles for this prize to make any sense to you.
This contest is now closed. Good luck to all who entered!
Good luck everyone!
Why no flights included?! 🙁
They’re expensive! ^_^
Dang I wish it was reversed pay for the ticket, and they pay for the flight. That is expensive from Canada to LA. @_@
Because we’re cheap! HAHAHAAAAaaaano. 😛 We’re not filthy stinkin’ rich ourselves!
Well if my science experiment to create a two tailed fox is a success…
Just cut off the tails of one fox and stitch it on to another one. Then add some fur and you’re done! 😉
Don’t let it result the same as in Pickle’s work.
Anyone else get Trogdorbad’s reference?
Bioshock because the soundtrack is epic and so is Sonic!
We’re going to be there for E3, this would be awesome 🙂 Sending my entry in now!
I think that a Daft Punk “Tron” Soundtrack would be great for a Sonic the Hedgehog Game because it is fast and upbeat. It would go hand and foot with the character’s personality while staying true to the usually sonic sound that makes its way into games. The games rarely have songs with lyrics in them and, in my personal opinion, that is a great direction because it keeps the audience visually entertained. I would like to experience a little bit more audible stimulation, something that brings me to the edge of my seat. Second and third choices would be Hans Zimmer’s “Inception” Soundtrack or Within Temptation’s “The Unforgiving” Soundtrack. I can honestly say that I have been a fan of the series since I was six, though -recently- I have lost somewhat of a connection. When I have free time away from the university I play a few gamecube and wii games with my brother to relieve stress and relive childhood moments or I read the comic book series.
Wow, what perfect timing! I wanted to go to Video Games Live since I was going to be in Los Angeles to attend E3 anyway. So, it goes without saying, but I hope I win one of those pair of tickets.
Guys, be sure to EMAIL your entries. We won’t have time to check out entries posted in the comments section!!!!
I sure as hell won’t be able to go anyway – Manchester to LA?! Expensive as hell! =(
But, if I were to pick another franchise soundtrack to go with Sonic, it would have to be Guilty Gear because Sonic has a lot of epic Rock/Metal tracks & taking that up a notch would sick! =)
*would BE sick!
If the winner emerge victorious over this contest, is there’s going to be a traveling agent or arrangements that could transport the person to the place that has been already made?
It’s right there in the article.
I’d give an answer but I live nowhere near LA and I can’t afford to fly out there. East to Weast is expensive!
i sent my response, i hope i hope i hope i hope i hope i win!!!!!!!
and i live near by !!!!
