GAME’s Spanish website has revealed a new wheel bundle for Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing only its not for the Wii but for the PS3 version instead. The wheel is an officially licensed product made by 4Gamers which you may recognise from the recent PS3 trailer where those actors are utilizing it to showcase the PS3 controllers Six-Axis motion control.
The wheel bundle costs 12 more Euros than the game on its own so like the Wii Wheel bundle its not a freebie. This isnt the first SEGA racing game to use Six-Axis, SEGA Rally(SEGA Rally Revo to you guys in the U.S.) fans may recall that game supported the feature to add optional motion steering which worked well in my experience.
At the moment we only know of Spain getting this bundle but if we find more retailers selling it we’ll let you know.
Thanks to Blue Blood at the SSMB for the find.
Ooh, worth getting?
In a word, no. I’ve played a couple of racing games on my PlayStation3, all of ’em touting the SIXAXIS function as a great way to play. I just can’t get to grips with it (pun intended) and always feel more comfortable just being traditional and pressing X for go, steering with the left stick, etc. etc.
Some might have fun with it, but not me. Nice to see, though, as I’m always one for stealing customers from Nintendo and the “other” videogaming mascot character… *shakes fist*
Can’t wait for Friday!
I think it would be a bit more notable if ASR would support and play up said support of the dozens of actual racing wheels already available for the PS3 instead of bothering with Six-Axis functionality.
I have all 3 consoles.. right now im leaning more to the xbox 360 because of more features. i will pick up ps3 version later on.
I’m leaning to the Wii version right now, seeing as the Xbox 360 version doesn’t have a wheel >_>
sigh
Can’t Playstation come up with any ideas on their own? I think their only original idea that wasn’t stolen from Nintendo was that i-toy for the PS2 and it failed miserably, it didn’t work well and it wasn’t fun.
Oh well, I guess we just have to accept, Nintendo will continue to make creative new ways of gaming and everyone else will copy them.
I’m leaning on the 360 version seeing as how the only thing the Wii has going for it….is a wheel.
@Sonic Toast: Yes, and while Nintendo is being “innovative”, Sony will continue making the consoles with the best overall selection of games.
Yeah yeah, opinion, I know… but I own a wii, and lost interest in it quite a while ago. I think Sony is doing the wrong thing by trying to copy them.
@ Legendary Emera;d
agree.
nobody gives a sh** about six-axis, it’s all about the games and that’s why i prefer ps3.
opinions , opinions. we better all become broniks fast (=
@Sonictoast Although the wii came out first Sony was working on using motion control for ps2 before the wii was announced, so yeah, actually nintendo’s the one who does’nt have fresh ideas
Spanish gets all the good stuff
@Sjmaster
Actually the Sony’s been working on motion controls since the PS1, and yes, nintendo ran out of ideas when they announced the Wii. It is not fun at all.
Im leaning towards the PS3 and DS versions because they don’t have banjo and his cheating all-star move that is unavoidable, and the wii has mii’s and the console is no fun, and the DS version is the fastest one, I’ll probably get the 360 one first though because of all the extra features, and the avatars which are 9001 times better than Mii’s considering they do more and were in developement longer. Im still irritated that the game isn’t for PSP…
oh and TSS forgot about motorstorm… Segarally wasnt the first racing game on PS3 to feature six-axis… also it was the former best racing game on PS3
@ edge
I said this game isnt the first SEGA racing game to use Six-Axis 😉
@ shadzter
Oh yeah, didn’t see that there…
@edge
Psych boi!
Wii>You
@edge: Banjo’s all-star move is avoidable. I’ve dodged it many times. 360 version for me because of Banjo of cousre. It’s sad that people don’t see how epic it is for him to be in a Sega game or rather be in another game outside his company.
