Sonic Dash Hits 500 Million Downloads

This infinite runner never ends.

This week, Sega tweeted a congratulatory message to HARDlight, highlighting that Sonic Dash has hit a massive download milestone.

Sonic Dash originally launched over eight years ago in early 2013, sprawling across iOS, Android, Amazon devices, and the Windows Store. The game, built simply on jumping, dashing, and swapping lanes, has a long and strange legacy of complete metagame redesign and plenty of guest characters including Pac-Man, the Angry Birds, and Bongo the Danimals chimp. It outlived its own Sonic Boom-themed sequel and continues to receive updates today, most notably the recent Sonic Colors: Ultimate Wisp event.

Though it only has one meaningful legacy, and that is bringing Andronic into the world.
