French gaming store SoGamely has apparently posted a listing for a Sonic Collection for the PlayStation 4, and we’re intrigued to say the very least!
As of writing this, the listing can be found here. While nothing has been confirmed by SEGA as of yet, it is worth noting that this is the same website that had a posting for Sonic Colours Ultimate a while back.
It should be reiterated that as this has not yet been confirmed or denied by SEGA, and that this is currently the only known source of this game, we are considering this to be a rumor until more information surfaces.
That said, with all the hype surrounding Sonic’s 30th Anniversary slowly bubbling up in the fandom, a big anniversary collection wouldn’t be completely off base for the blue blur on the big 30th celebration.

Sonic & Knuckles Collection, Sonic Mega Collection, Sonic Mega Collection Plus, Sonic Gems Collection, Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection, Sonic PC Collection, Sonic Classic Collection, Sonic Hits Collection and then…just Sonic Collection.
I know it’s likely working title at this point, but I’m gonna have nice burst of laughter if that’s end up being used as finalized name after looking back of those previous compilation titles.
I hope it’s a classic collection if the rumour is true.
For me, I hope it’s more 3D-focused, on titles we can’t get anywhere, like Sonic Heroes, Unleashed, Shadow the Hedgehog, or even 06… But I would also like Generations, SA1&2, etc.
But something like S3&K would be awesome
Been a little while since we got a Sonic themed one of these. If it’s got Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic the Fighters I’ll probably get it. If not, eh, we’ll have to see what else Sega decided to include instead. Maybe some weird stuff like the Advance games or Sonic Shuffle or the storybook games would win me over into buying yet another collection.

Yeah, I’ve heard about this. This one guy claims that the collection will include the Christian Whitehead versions of Sonic 1 and 2, as well as a new version of Sonic 3 & Knuckles that replaces the music made by MJ due to copyright issues. Me personally, I’m not gonna believe it until Sega confirms it themselves.
Heard the same thing, and personally, feel the same too.
They better not throw us another classics collection!! (or do it, I don’t really care :P)
As mentioned above, it would be nice to see games that were never re-released (Advance, Rush, the 3d games) given a second chance in a collection game
I seriously hope it isn’t a classic collection, we have SO many collections. We need a modern 3D collection games.
My prediction is that it would contain remastered ports of Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic CD and Sonic 3 & Knuckles (albeit with the Carnival Night, Ice Cap, Launch Base and other tracks from the Sonic 3 November 3rd 1993 prototype, Sonic’s super peel-out and drop dash moves and smoother animations ala Sonic Mania), anyone else agree?
